Jack's Playground 28

Despite its considerable popularity and respectable acclaim, JACK'S PLAYGROUND has always been a mixed bag of goods to me. I appreciate Robby D's creativity and innovation with the tired and clichéd gonzo formula, but his vision doesn't always match my tastes. The humor is louder and more obnoxious than I can usually tolerate, and the sexual set-ups are serviceable, but not exactly ground-breaking. (The ongoing premise that the girls are willing to fuck for the camera in order to appear in a music video should be retired after this volume.) Yet along with all the groans of exasperation over the attempts at humor, there are far, far more moans of pleasure when it comes to the sex.

In Volume 28, both Katsuni and Poppy Morgan contribute the greatest amount of heat in their one-on-one scenes, while Terri Summers, McKenzie Lee and the always eye-pleasing Teagan Presley balance out the rest of the flick with good (though not wonderful) efforts. Girl-girl action and threesomes are nowhere to be found, which is unfortunate because there is an inherent monotony with the constant flow of boy-girl pairings. Surprisingly, I found the comedy bits here to be fairly passable, especially the attorney advertisement for workers compensation, where Paola Rey testifies as to how her counsel ("Cody Law") helped her with a cum-in-the-eye injury. It's not Mel Brooks, but it's comedy which works unpretentiously. There is also a commentary track dominated by the director and Joey Puldagas (as the urban-voiced "Montel" who is the first person you hear during the opening menu) which is interesting, but far more insulting than witty. Quite frankly, I'm not sure that such a breezy production like JACK'S PLAYGROUND is in need of any verbal artistic insight or observation, but there you have it.

Katsuni is introduced first, sitting on a couch, and mumbling unintelligibly to Jack's question regarding a personal break-up. (Her French accent is not at all helped by the distant microphones.) Scott Nails swings by, and she consoles her self by thrusting her mouth on his cock, in a stabbing-like motion. Dressed up in a plaid top, short-skirt and knee high sox, Katsuni has rarely looked sexier, and her anal performance here is one of the best I've seen of this Euro-Asian tart. The shot of cum on her tongue ends this opening scene nicely, indeed.

Terri Summers is a brunette hailing from Holland who has done superb work in various Evil Angel features, but is less nasty in this outing. Her almost mullet-like hairstyle does not do justice to her natural beauty, so it's disappointing to see her work with compromises in both appearance and effort. Italian stud Marco Banderas gives her a workout, but it doesn't come close to matching his memorable scene with Paola Rey in New Sensation's LI'L LATINAS 3, for example. Still, her blowjobs are always a delight to watch, and the missionary positioning gives us a good look at her long, slender legs. Despite the oral cumshot, this is at best a throwaway scene.

Fun-luvin' and energetic Poppy Morgan appears next, arising from under the covers of a hotel bed where Scott Nails does little more than laze about. This British lass looks pretty much like your average post-teen cutie, but she is especially skilled in showing off her perfect little ass and tight legs while wearing purple shorts and high heels. The director uses the word "hot" at least a couple of dozen times while talking to her, but given the overall package, the repetition is understandable. Some tight, medium shots of her giving head (with a little too much hands-on action, for my taste) are a highlight, and she moans and pants realistically while getting banged in several positions. Here's hoping we see more of Miss Morgan in future editions of JACK'S PLAYGROUND.

McKenzie Lee is an always dependable performer who looks her sexiest in plain street clothes which show off her sexy body. Once again, Scott Nails gets the pleasure of groping and manhandling this English hottie, beginning with some aggressive oral work and continuing with some equally aggressive anal fucking. The ass-to-mouth shots raise the temperature of this hot coupling, and McKenzie is always in tune to what pleases her partner and the viewer.

Finally, Teagan Presley brings this episode to a close in a scene which is only average at best, though she's not the one at fault. She's paired up with dull Eric Masterson, who quite frankly doesn't deserve someone of her stature. Nevertheless, our favorite Digital Playground blonde is picked up at her workplace - a gas station, believe it or not - during her ten minute break, and she and Eric retreat to the restroom (which, based on how clean it appears, was not shot on location) for a quickie fuck and suck. Teagan looks great even when dressed in a raggedy uniform, and the long, loving shots of her ass never fail to impress. She looks good getting screwed reverse cowgirl while on the disabled toilet stall, and of course, she delivers blowjobs with aplomb, but the scene doesn't sparkle like it should. The best part occurs at the end, when she takes Eric's load into her mouth, gags slightly, but then swallows it down before flashing her million-dollar smile. Ahh, Teagan...Even under the most unappealing of conditions, you never fail to impress and satisfy.

I suppose that the audio commentary makes up for the lack of extras on this Blu-ray, which include a number of Digital Playground trailers in 1080p resolution, brightly animated menu and a crisp photo gallery. Still, a quick and simple "Behind The Scenes" featurette might have added value to this production, which looks great in high definition and sound equally good in Dolby Digital surround, despite some below-average miking. However, when you have girls like Teagan and Katsuni in the main feature, any lack of bonuses are easily forgiven.

As if the return of Teagan Presley wasn't a good enough reason to add Jack's Playground 28 to your adult library, for the first time Digital Playground has included a full-length audio commentary featuring the characters of "Jack" (director Robby D.), Montel, Cousin Nick and Cody Law.

Vol. 28 opens with a Montel-narrated recap of Vol. 27, followed by the first scene - which is a pairing between Katsumi and Scott Nails in Jack's apartment. Katsumi is depressed about breaking up with Lee Stone (who played her boyfriend all the way back in Jack's Playground 9), but Scott seems to cheer her up quickly. This is one of the best pairings on the DVD, and includes anal in the doggy and reverse cowgirl positions.

After a "Hot Man Love" commercial spoof featuring Eric Masterson, we join Terri Summers and Marco Duato for a scene that also takes place in Jack's aprartment. This is probably the weakest scene on the DVD, although it does end with a nice facial pop-shot that both lands in Terri's mouth and drips down off of her chin. However, if you'd like to see a hotter pairing between these two performers, I recommend checking out My First Porn where Terri and Marco get into much more visually stimulating action.

English lass Poppy Morgan is already under the sheets with Scott Nails in a motel room when Scene Three begins. Not to worry though, as she gets out and poses for the camera a bit before returning to the bed and getting it on with Scott. The action is pretty standard here, but Poppy's cute enough that most viewers won't be bothered by that fact. Plus there's a very nice cumshot as Scott stands above her and shoot his load down onto her face.

After a continuity-challenged Cody Law commercial featuring Paola Rey (listen to the commentary track for more details...see guys, I did catch it!), we join brunette McKenzie Lee and Scott Nails (damn, he's seeing a lot of pussy in this volume!) in Jack's apartment for a scene that includes anal in the doggy, reverse cowgirl and cowgirl positions, with a pop-shot that fills up McKenzie's mouth...and where she plays with the cum for a bit with her fingers before swallowing it down.

If there's such a thing as a "bad scene" with Teagan Presley, I've yet to see it. Jack and Eric Masterson catch up with the young cutie at a gas station where she's working part time. Slipping into the rest room, Eric and Teagan make out both in and outside of the stall in a pairing that features standing doggy, reverse cowgirl (on the toilet, no less) and an oral cumshot that Teagan swallows.

With the addition of the commentary track, Jack's Playground 28 becomes a disc that viewers will enjoy watching more than one time...first with the normal 5.1 soundtrack, then with the commentary track. Also included are a photo gallery and a generous number of trailers, including the one for this release.

If you're a fan of this gonzo series, Jack's Playground 28 is probably going to rank as one of your favorites. It's a fun volume to watch.
