Not only does Anabolic turn out some of the best hardcore porn in the biz, but their DVD transfers are top-notch as well. Like past episodes, this one benefits from a crisp transfer with only some very pixelation. The audio is also presented well. I'm not a huge fan of music during sex scenes, but in this case it's mixed low enough so it doesn't distract, and actually provides a nice texture to the soundtrack. Fans will be pleased to hear that future Anabolic DVDs will have a music toggle feature; hopefully other companies will follow suit. One of the few downsides of this DVD are the lack of chapters stops - there are only two, one at the beginning of each scene. Considering each scene runs for more than 40 minutes this makes accessing a specific portion of the disc unnecessarily difficult.

At times Anabolic's discs lack in the extras category but this one has a number of outtake segments from the second scene with Shelby Belle and Sweet Nicky. To my delight, one of these extras shows naughty Aurora playing with herself while waiting around. There's also a funny moment where director Chris Alexander is explaining to the girls (with the aid of a French translator) how the cumshots will work. In addition to the four outtake segments, there's a photo gallery, cumshot recap and a bunch of trailers on the reverse side.

Although I'm not a big gangbang connoisseur, I thought this was a great disc. It still suffers from the inherent problems of gangbangs (guys standing around stroking, limited angles, etc.) but Alexander and crew do a good job of keeping the camera focused on the action. Speaking of camera work, the overhead/crane shots are great, as are the efforts to squeeze the most action into the frame as possible; this is most noticeable (and appreciated) in the second half. As for Shyla's scene, it's one any fan will want to check out. According to Anabolic's web site, Shyla feels this is the best performance of her career. And if you're familiar with her resume, that's a bold statement! Although Shyla still plans to make features with JKP, it appears that even she realizes her wild days are over. But in an industry as fluid as this, anything can happen. Don't count her out just yet.
