Things Change 3

Taking over the leading role of one of Nikki Dial's best films, Misty Rain is in sensuously fine form in THINGS CHANGE 3, an excellent continuation both in theme and sexual heat of the original two-part series. Originally released back in the mid-1990s, THINGS CHANGE: MY FIRST TIME and THINGS CHANGE: LETTING GO starred the gorgeous Nikki Dial and the sexy Deidre Holland as lovers who take a hiatus from their relationship to explore other erotic encounters. Co-starring the Francesca Le and Flame, these films rank among my favorite pornos of all time, and are recognized as one of Metro's flagship productions. Now, thanks to their inspired decision to cast Misty Rain as the featured star in THINGS CHANGE 3 (and the inevitable THINGS CHANGE 4), Metro has another DVD hit on their hands which I can recommend without hesitation.

Tall, slender, sexy and with the best pair of legs in porn, Misty Rain in my mind continues to be underrated and under appreciated as one our best adult movie performers. Just the way she sucks cock, straddles a hard-on, and throws her whole body and soul into a sex scene can make a bad movie good, and a good movie great. Her role in THE ANAL DIARY OF MISTY RAIN makes that movie one of my favorites in the Elegant Angel line of videos, and her ending threesome with Francesca Le and Chad Thomas was simply amazing. Misty Rain also participates in one of my all-time favorite lesbian scenes involving Debi Diamond and Celeste in the upcoming remastered version of THE DINNER PARTY. While THINGS CHANGE 3 does not quite match up to the level of work in those videos, the film is nevertheless an excellent production worthy of Ms. Rain's talents and presence. Misty performs in two major scenes, but graces the screen with her bubbly presence throughout the entire running time. Appearing as a golden-haired blonde, Misty starts off with a lusty opening fuck and suck with Mark Davis, a scene that has plenty of fervor and heat to please both the couples and raincoat crowd. She flirts then later succumbs to the advances of Nikki Sinn, who is not really one of my favorite porn stars, but Misty makes their girl-girl scene work on me.

As great as Misty is, her co-starring line of ladies also help put this movie over the top. Sexy hardbody Lola and blonde cutie Sana Fey are playful and passionate in a bathroom girl-girl scene that can only be described as terrific. Filled with plenty of hot kissing and hearty pussy eating, their scene is an action-packed scorcher, as it pays homage to the Francesca Le/Deidre Holland love-fest from the THINGS CHANGE: LETTING GO.

Inari Vachs, surely one of the sexiest ladies and best new performers in porn, takes on both Tony Tedeschi and Mark Davis in a bathroom stall. Beginning with a dual blowjob and ending with a torrid double penetration action which had me in awe. Again, since I am not the biggest fan of Nikki Sinn, I can't say that I loved her early scene with Katie Gold at the beginning of this film, but the lesbian sex was still hot by any critical standard. However, a clear highlight of THING CHANGE 3 was the threesome involving the ravishing Claudia Chase, the beautiful Wendy Knight, and the forever grimacing Tony Tedeschi. With Claudia's fantastic figure and Wendy's devilish smile in full view, this is one of the better choreographed ménage a trois I have witnessed in awhile, and all I could do was envy that lucky bastard Tony while he took his turn with each girl. This is one of the very few movies in which the use of condoms throughout all the straight scenes drew no whining complaints from me. When the action is this good, the condoms can almost be overlooked.

The image quality of this filmed feature was more than a bit grainy in places, but the overall look is bright and clear, with some moderate pixelation that does not overtly distract from the action. And while I appreciate Metro's decision not to use any on-screen icon on the main feature to signal the presence of multiple angles, there is a written graphic which garishly states "2ND ANGLE" at the bottom right of the screen on the second angle version of the picture. I also didn't bother to turn on the German foreign language soundtrack during my review of the movie, but I assume that it's accurate and intelligible. Extras on the disc include a brief, but adequate biography section, those superfluous still photos, and trailers.

Director Michael Zen somehow manages to capture the tension and sexual chemistry of the original Nikki Dial films almost effortlessly in THING CHANGE 3. Of course, with a leading actress like Misty Rain, how could this movie be anything but hot and heavy? I thoroughly recommend THINGS CHANGE 3 and anxiously look forward to THINGS CHANGE 4.

THINGS CHANGE 3 tells the story of a young couple, played by Misty Rain and Mark Davis who come to a crossroads in their relationship. Misty is curious about her sexuality, and the focus of the film concentrates on her exploration of the other side, and if she will give in to her lesbian fantasies.

The movie opens with Misty celebrating her birthday. She seems unhappy with the fact that Mark has bought her a cookbook as a present, and she suggests that (since it is her birthday) they add a little excitement to their sexual lives. She wants to be spanked, but Mark feels uncomfortable with this. So Misty calls up Mark's best friend, played by Tony Tedeschi, and asks him if he would like to be part of a three-way. Tony laughs and hangs up, but Misty pretends like he is still on the other end and continues to suggest things she wants done to her. This really turns Mark on, and the two go at it on the couch.

But Misty is still not happy, and we next see her in a lesbian club, where she is really turned on watching Nikki Sinn and Katie Gold playing with each other on stage. Nikki has met Misty before, and she is trying to talk Misty into giving into her lesbian tendencies...preferably with her! Misty goes home and watches a lesbian video on the TV (not surprisingly, one of the previous chapters of THINGS CHANGE!). She lies back on her bed and masturbates vigorously. Unbeknownst to her, Mark is outside watching...and thinking she is cheating on him, or at least wants to.

Mark tries to go to Tony with his problems, but his best friend is currently tied up...literally! Tony is bound in a chair and being seduced by Claudia Chase and Wendi Knight. Tony gets out of his bonds just in time to have some fun with the two girls on the couch. Tony winds up cumming on their breasts as the two rub them together and lock lips in the conclusion to this passionate scene.

Mark finally gets to talk to Tony, and when Tony finds out what club Misty has been hanging out at, Tony explains to him that it is a lesbian club. The two go undercover at the club, and find themselves trapped in the girls' bathroom stalls as Sana Fey and Lola come in for a little lesbian action of their own. After the women leave, Inari Vachs enters and sees them in the stalls. She enters the middle stall between them, and Mark sticks his cock through an appropriate positioned glory hole in the stall. Why a lesbian club would have a glory hole in a stall is a little far fetched (perhaps for lesbian fingering action?), but I'll forgive this oversight because it turns out to be the hottest scene in the movie. Once Tony (in the opposite stall) notices that his buddy is getting blown, he doesn't waste anytime leaving his stall and entering the one Inari is in so he can join the action. Mark eventually comes over to Inari's side as well, and she gets a hot DP from the two guys and winds up taking both their loads on her face in this extremely hot sequence.

Meanwhile, Misty has made her way to Nikki's place, where she finally gives in to her lust. After she is finished, she returns home and decides that Mark and her need to breakup until she can decide whether she prefers girls or guys. The viewer is left hanging as to what will happen in this relationship, mainly because this movie is a set up for THINGS CHANGE 4, which according to the behind-the-scenes supplemental material on the disc was filmed at the same time as this movie, and is also coming to DVD shortly.

Speaking of the supplemental material, the features are well-done on this DVD and add a lot to one's enjoyment of the movie. In addition to the behind-the-scenes segment, there are biographies and interviews with all the women in the cast (Inari, incidentally comes off as the nicest of the bunch), as well as a number of previews, chapter stops and a photo gallery.

With the THINGS CHANGE 3 DVD, Metro shows that they are ready to step forward and produce some high quality products with the features than porn fans have been looking for. Additionally, director Michael Zen has brought us another solid adult production, giving us what we have come to expect from his films: An interesting story filled with some wonderful sexual encounters between the cast members.
