Cal Vista/Metro features don't always have the biggest budgets, but they still manage to pack plenty of story and action into each title. Fresh from the success of Prisoner and Wonderland, director DCypher is at it again with a new tale of sex, power, and murder. Let's see how it plays out.

As the movie opens, homicide detectives Steven St. Croix and Haley Paige arrive at crime scene. The victim, Holly Stevens, lies naked across her motel bed, with a belt wrapped around her neck. The audio isn't too impressive either, presented in an adequate stereo format. It's not bad, but other big features offer 5.1 mixes. There are a few decent extras including an 18-minute BTS featurette including some cast interviews and on-set footage. A 7-minute blooper reel is also included, showing the cast tripping up on the movie's cheesy dialogue. The only other worthwhile extras are a photo gallery and a few trailers.

Power Lines is a decent little feature with some good production values. But the story is a bit too chewy for its own good and almost all of the sex scenes play like separate side shows, doing little to advance or enhance the narrative. Even the action isn't all that spectacular, with each scene composed of the same acts and positions. Still, the movie deserves some credit for trying something a little different. So if you like unpredictable murder mysteries with predictable sex scenes, you may want to check this one out.
