Love is War

Though the title is rather awkward and the movie itself is no great shakes, LOVE IS WAR gives viewers the opportunity to watch the sin-sational Venus in all-out action, courtesy of VCA Pictures. This sultry brunette starred in highly memorable fare like JEWEL RAIDER and STRAIGHT TO THE A #1, but has not attained the star popularity I feel she deserves. Although this likable, but fairly standard porno probably won't be the cinematic event which propels her into superstardom, Venus shines in all of three of her scenes and she is the primary reason I'm adding this disc to my collection.

Veteran director F. J. Lincoln and his significant other, writer and producer Patti Rhodes, serve up six straightforward but well-done sex scenes in a simple, soap operatic tale of love and lust. Venus is the owner of a fitness center who wants to take revenge on her cheating boyfriend, played by muscle-man Evan Stone. Because much of the movie takes place in a gym, there are plenty of eye-catching shots of babes in tight, form-fitting workout, fashion wear. It's a nice visual touch to all the inevitably naked proceedings, and adds to the overall fun. (After all, how many of us have worked up a good, hard sweat just by watching some hardbody huffing and puffing away on the Stairmaster next to us?)

Once you understand the basic plot, it's far more convenient just to skip to the sex scenes and enjoy all the naked, female scenery. (Or, you can view the flick using the DVD's Wall To Wall option.) Amythiest's anal scene with Evan Stone takes place on a stairway, and arouses thanks to her constant verbal (muffled only when she has his cock in her mouth) and physical responses. She could easily pass for April Flower's sister, and is every bit as cute. For the climactic finish, she laps up his spunk with her tongue and even swallows a bit of it. Venus's shower seduction of Dillon is also excellent. As she drips with wetness, he fucks her (condomless, incidentally) in a standing doggy-position before unleashing himself all over her face. Venus fans will end up watching this segment twice before moving with the rest of the film.

Next up is a three-way with Erik Everhard, Dominica Leoni and Felix Vicious. Auburn-haired Felix is a definite cutie, and has a street-wise appearance which makes her bump and grind scenes look and feel nastier. Those multiple ear piercings are a little visually distracting, but to each her own. The bathtub-based ménage a trois is good, though more girl-girl kissing would have made it great. Both babes get an equal shot of goo, but there is no cum-swapping.

We return back to the lovely Venus having a bedroom, butt-boinking romp with Mr. Stone, which falls short of excellence when he chooses to release shoot his load all over her chest. Another one-on-one occurs with Felix and Marty Romano in a gym, which is condomless and features some good reverse -cowgirl action shots. Mr. Romano screams rather loudly when ejaculating all over her crotch, but I guess I would do the same if I got to tag a piece of ass like Ms. Vicious. The movie concludes with a girl-girl scene between Jezebelle Bond and Venus, highlighted by their slow, soft approach which includes deep kissing and lots of fondling. Toys are eventually used during the last five minutes or so, but that doesn't stop them from using their tongues and fingers as well. Like the scenes which came before, this isn't a superb affair, but it's enjoyable if only because Venus is in it.

Video and audio quality clearly meets VCA's high standards. Bright, crisp pictures with excellent sound make this flick very easy on the senses. Extras are a bit lacking (all one really gets is a Photo Gallery and a brief write-up of the some of the girls found in Star Bios), but VCA makes up for it by a well-laid out menu with plenty of convenient chapter stops and scene access. Even more inspired is the ability to watch this film in the previously mentioned Wall To Wall mode, which plays only the hardcore and skips all the dialogue and plot exposition.

LOVE IS WAR is good, dirty adult fun and a keeper for Venus fans.
