Naughty Naturals Vol. 1

I've about come to the conclusion that "reality porn" is what you make when you haven't got the talent or skill to make real porn. It's fun to watch a bad movie and think, "I could do that," but with very few exceptions the thought is really true only when you happen to be watching a "reality" effort like Club Reno's "Naughty Naturals." If I spotted you the bed, the girls, and a camcorder?yes! you too could be a pornographer. That's because if you know how to turn on the camera and point it at the girls, you've got the right skill set for the job. And it wouldn't surprise me a bit if most of you turned out a better product than Reno does here.

That doesn't mean you won't like this movie. Consider: you've got two natural girls, Michelle Lay and Staci Waters, who truly want to get each other off; both clearly enjoy lesbian sex; there's a good deal of kissing, including a few nice moments of tongue sucking; and there isn't any verbal interaction with the director/cameraman. If that's enough for you, pony up a quarter large and get "Naughty Naturals." Keep reading, though, if you're still on the fence.

One?not much build. This movie peaks at the beginning, during foreplay, and at the end, when Michelle cums. In between, it's as if the girls were directed to make it last: just when one seems on the verge of something, the action stops and the girls move on to something else. The long middle portion of this hour-long scene has as many valleys as peaks, and little sense of an increasing level of excitement.

Two?atrocious camerawork. A one-camera shoot with little post-production editing, this film desperately needed someone behind the camera with a feel for where and how to aim it. I didn't notice whether Reno, in addition to "writing" and directing this picture, also served as its cameraman, but it doesn't really matter. Whoever it was, he only dimly understands how to construct a sex scene and displays no talent whatsoever for framing. Though saved to a degree by the nature of hardcore?if you just get the sex in the frame, you aren't a complete failure?it isn't nearly enough. For some crazy reason, the cameraman frequently shoots at an annoying middle distance between a close-up and a two-shot, diminishing the action on the one hand and failing to capture the reaction shots on the other. After the promising foreplay and almost as soon as the sex begins, the sense of lost momentum is almost palpable.

Three?attack of the toys. These girls don't employ a wide variety of toys, but what they do use?a vibrator and clit-stimulators?they use incessantly. The toys appear to be Staci's and she seems determined to show Michelle how good they can be. And to judge by Michelle reaction, they can be very good indeed. This much isn't a problem; it's often worth the toy to see the girls enjoying themselves. What becomes frustrating is simply how long and how often they're used?all the more so because both of these girls know how to eat pussy.

For all its faults I can't really say that "Naughty Naturals" is a bad movie, though it certainly isn't a very professional one. In many ways, it is, writ large, what a moment early in the film during the transition from foreplay to sex is. That moment occurs when Staci starts to undress Michelle. Instead of taking Michelle's jeans off, Staci simply pulls them down above the knees. It's an awkward way to begin cunnilingus, but, as it happens, an appropriate way to begin this film.
