Tru Lies

Nearly 13 years after the release of the mainstream film True Lies, here comes a porno version directed by Dee. Even the box cover conjures memories of the original. While my expectations are low, I must admit, the premise has some definite potential. Let's see how it plays out.

Brooke is the star of the movie, playing the role of a super-secret special agent posing as an ordinary housewife. But when her husband (Marcus London) leaves for work, Brooke checks in with her agency for her latest assignment. Her work takes her to Chris Cannon's bedroom to plant a bug, but her undercover work involves some convincing. Wearing a dark curly wig, a white teddy, and black stockings, Brooke cozies up with Chris, removing her lingerie while sucking his cock on the bed. Chris fucks Brooke's soft boobs, then eats her out before letting her ride his tool. They finish off with some missionary action, after which Chris unloads all over Brooke's tits.

Elsewhere, crime boss Tanaka, AKA The Black Widow, (played by Mika Tan) is pissed off about something and decides to take out her frustrations on her bodyguard, Sledge Hammer. Mika looks incredible in her black PVC corset, gloves, and matching stockings. She starts off by ordering Sledge to suck her toes and follows-up by sitting on his face. Next, she rides him hard, causing her boobs to pop out of her corset. Sledge works up a rhythm of his own by slamming Mika in missionary and doggie setups, finally squirting his juice on her ass cheeks. She reaches back and tastes some of his goo off her he gloved finger before ordering him to leave.

It's never quite clear who crime boss Palermo (Jeanie Marie Sullivan) is or what she has to do with the story, but she's horny so I guess that's good enough for a porno. When low-level hoods Jeremy Holmes and Presely Maddox approach her for some money, Jeanie agrees to the terms, but she wants a three-way first. Jeremy and Presley flank Jeanie on a small sofa and help her undress. Following some kissing and fondling, the girls go to work on Jeremy's cock, taking turns sucking and fucking him in several positions. They end up sharing his semen too as he concludes the scene by jacking off all over their tongues.

Apparently Brooke's husband has a meeting with crime boss Tanaka. While he's gone, he lets Eric Masterson use his office as a meeting place for a hook-up. Nikky Hilton arrives on cue and quickly conducts some espionage of her own while Eric is cleaning up in the bathroom. But when he returns, it's all business as they make out on a sofa. Nikky sucks Eric's cock then bends over the sofa for some standing doggie. She brings Eric to the point of no return by riding him reverse cowgirl, hopping off just in time to take an open mouth facial.

Meanwhile at boss Tanaka's place, Mika has a surprise for Marcus. She blindfolds him and leads Brooke into the room, this time wearing a short red wig. Brooke recognizes her husband, but stays in character to complete her mission, helping Mika suck Marcus' cock. While Marcus is fucking Mika, Brooke removes his blindfold and says something critical to him. Unfortunately, it's hard to hear what she's saying due to Mika's screams and the overpowering background music. Brooke ends up taking it doggie, then Mika gets a second prodding in reverse cowgirl. As Mika prepares to take a facial from Marcus, Brooke slyly ties her hands behind her back. Marcus eventually plops his pudding on Mika's face, after which Brooke produces a handgun and arrests the restrained (and slimed) crime boss. An epilogue shows Marcus and Brooke both working together as secret agents in the future, hinting at a possible sequel.

This is a decent enough disc from Sinsation Pictures with some surprisingly good extras. Despite being shot in an 16x9 anamorphic widescreen format, the picture quality isn't quite as sharp as it could have been. The stereo audio track is even worse, sounding tinny at times. Plus the music sometimes overpowers the dialogue, as in the critical plot twist of the last scene. The disc gains some ground in the extras category, thanks in large part to the 40-minute "Back Stage" footage, also presented anamorphically. This generous featurette includes photo shoots, pre and post scene footage, as well as some brief cast interviews. Another worthwhile extras is the anamorphic "Brooke Solo" feature, running 11 minutes long and showing Brooke doing a strip tease, eventually transitioning to some hardcore finger and dildo play. A photo gallery and six trailers round out the supplemental content.

From a narrative standpoint, Tru Lies is a mess and the hardcore action isn't much better. A vignette approach probably would have worked better, as the scenes are only loosely linked, and even then, they don't necessarily benefit from the narrative setup. The sex is rather bland too, often running too long while offering little variety. Mika Tan is the only performer that really stands out, making the most of her screen time. As often is the case, Brooke is somewhat distant and seemingly indifferent. While that demeanor may be compatible with the role she's playing, it doesn't necessarily make for good porn viewing. So even if you're a Brooke fan, think this one over carefully. You're likely to get more wood from viewing Jamie Lee Curtis' strip tease in the mainstream version.

Tru Lies marks the second Dee-directed movie I've viewed from Sinsation Pictures (the first being Bookie Nights), and I came away with pretty much the same reaction I had the first time around: the storyline was pretty weak, but the sex itself wasn't bad at all.

Tru Lies is loosely (very loosely!) based on James Cameron's mainstream flick, and stars Brooke (a.k.a. Brooke Banner) as a spy who gets most of her information by having sex with her targets. Unbeknownst to Brooke, however, is the fact that her husband (Marcus London) is having a lot of sex too...and not with her!

As the movie opens, Brooke is sent out on her latest assignment, and she prepares for it by donning a black wig - one that she keeps on throughout her first sex scene, which is with Chris Cannon. Brooke gets cowgirl, reverse cowgirl and missionary, and Chris pops onto her chest at the conclusion.

If you're turned on by Asian dominatrixes, you'll probably enjoy Scene Two which has Mika Tan playing "The Black Widow" and decked-out in a latex outfit. She commands Sledge Hammer to have sex with her, and this is a nicely aggressive scene where Mika is quite vocal during the action. After various positions are tried out, Sledge dumps a load onto her ass.

In Scene Three, Jeanie Marie Sullivan plays a crime boss, and Presley Maddox and Jeremy Holmes play a couple who come to Jeanie for a loan. She agrees to give it to them, if they agree to have a threesome with her. I haven't seem much of Jeanie in action, but I'm semi-familiar with Presley, and both girls are in fine form here. As is usually with boy/girl/girl three-ways, while the guy is doing one girl, the girl is usually pleasuring the other girl - and we get some of that here. This also has the best pop-shot of the movie, as Jeremy jerks into both girls' mouths.

Nikky Hilton looks stunning in a black dress as she seduces Eric Masterson in a scene where Nikky's only objective is to get a disc out of Marcus London's work office (Eric is using his co-workers office for sex with Nikky). Even though Nikky gets the disc before she has sex with Eric, she still sticks around to be with him, and takes both standing doggy and reverse cowgirl before getting a load shot onto her face and into her mouth.

The last scene has Brooke (this time wearing a lighter-colored and shorter wig) assigned to bring down Mika. Her cover has Brooke as an employee in an escort service that Mika runs, and she's to arrest her after joining Mika in a threesome with a client. Little does Brooke know that the client is, in fact, her husband Marcus! Marcus is blindfolded early in the scene, so he doesn't know his wife is the other girl until the penetration portion of the sex begins. Marcus remains silent about knowing it's his wife, and we get to see him fuck both girls, finishing up with an oral shot into Mika's mouth. It's not a huge cumshot - in fact, it's probably the weakest of the movie. After the sex is completed, Brooke arrests Mika and then tells her husband that both of them have a lot of explaining to do.

While the video for Tru Lies looks great, and is presented here in anamorphic widescreen, the audio really needs some work. It's a 2.0 track, and while the sexual action sounds fine, the dialogue scenes are low and hard to make out without cranking up the volume a bit. Extras on the DVD include a nice, enjoyable 40-minute behind the scenes featurette, along with a bonus solo scene featuring Brooke (about 11-minutes in length); a photo gallery; and six trailers for other Sinsation releases.

Couples looking for a good adult feature probably won't find the story they are craving in Tru Lies. But if you're one of those guys (or gals) who just wants to watch some decent non-gonzo sex, this title might fit the bill.
