Pornocide

Directed by Frank Thring, PORNOCIDE is an odd little movie, with American actors Lexington Steele, Evan Stone and Mr. Marcus cavorting with European tarts. There is no plot to speak of; all the players do is sit around outside talking about and champagne followed by a sex-filled vignette. The credits are incomplete, so there is no way of identifying all the actresses and actors, and some scenes go on for too long while others seem to be cut short. Moreover, the suggestive title has almost nothing to do with the straightforward contents, unless of course, there was some underlying theme or subtext in the movie that went straight over my head (not that it matters when it comes to porn). However, the overall erotic content of this movie is above average, and warrants a half-hearted recommendation despite the problems.

Silvia Saint shares a scene with Mr. Marcus which should have been boiling hot, and not just because the two are in a hot tub, but instead is rather lukewarm. As the two lick champagne off each other's bodies, their time together is surprisingly passionate and unhurried. In fact, this interracial coupling could almost pass for a couples-oriented affair given it's low-key action, in which Marcus seems to be having problems, at times, maintaining his erection (he keeps grabbing his cock like it was about to go limp on him). He still gets to cum all over her pretty face, but it sure seems like a struggle at times. In truth, both have done better work elsewhere, which makes their scene a bit disappointing.

On the other hand, Lexington Steele seems to be having more fun during his encounter with brunette Daniella Rush, who is able to take Marcus' cock up her ass with ease. Actually, this vignette is filmed as a threesome with Anthony Crane, who really doesn't get to do much but get his dick sucked and shoot his load into her mouth (which of course, is a job no one could possibly complain about). It's obvious that this fairly short scene was edited from a longer cut, because on the back of the DVD jacket, we see stills where he actually got to fuck her in several different positions. Why Sin City felt the need to cut this scene short is anybody's guess, especially when the movie has an average running time of approximately 75 minutes (the disc is not time encoded, so there is no precise way to tell).

Evan Stone gets his shot at one these European beauties in the next scene with Vanda, who looks incredibly sexy in a blue latex outfit. The creative camera angles capture their missionary, doggy and reverse-cowgirl-style schtupping perfectly, although there is no anal action here. Latin beauty Alexis Amore teases the returning Mr. Marcus while on a pool table, as she beckons him to sink his 8-ball in her corner pocket. Again, maybe I'm looking too much into it (or at it, as the case may be), but it sure as heck seems as though Mr. M continues to have difficulty maintaining a hard-on, similar to his scene with Silvia. Not that it matters to Alexis Amore, who seems to be having an orgasm with every thrust, but takes an oral cumshot with her lips locked together like Keanu Reeves in a scene from THE MATRIX.

The next two scenes, while technically very good, appears as though they were taken from another movie. An outdoor threesome between two European actors in military garb (at least, I think it's military...who the hell knows with all those crazy foreign fashion designers) share a lovely brown-haired lass who apparently can't speak the English language (but she sure knows hot to suck cock and take a double penetration fuck with ease). Later, some uncredited Euro-stud has an outdoor session with raven-haired beauty whom I could not identify. After the standard blowjob and cunnilingus action, he gives her a pretty thorough rimming that really didn't turn me on (as cute as her ass is, I really don't care for super-close-ups of any particular guy's face), but was otherwise "different." This vignette could possibly pass for a rejected outtake from a Private Video, but otherwise outclasses the other scenes in this film. It's clear that most of these women are used to doing their porn scenes the European way, because each oral and facial cumshot ends with them looking directly into the camera with a big smile on their face, a signature style of videos from Private or Wicked's Marc Dorcel line. Not that I'm complaining...

This is one of the best looking Sin City discs I have ever reviewed, which doesn't really mean all that much considering how poorly transferred some of their early releases were. But the picture here is clear and bright, and maintains a clean, colorful look throughout. The sound is good, but since most of the movie is overdubbed with music, this really isn't an important feature of the movie. Once again, however, you are held hostage by a phone sex and Sin City internet ad which opens the disc, in which you have to speed search through to get to the main feature. I know that this practice is standard with some mainstream studios, but must our porn suffer? Extras include a photo gallery and a bunch of previews which are average at best.

The catch line of this flick reads "PORNICIDE: It's like you've died and gone to hell." I wouldn't say this DVD is all that bad, but I've definitely seen better.
