Shorty iz Fuckin' Yo Mama

I have this kind of aversion to stereotypes. It was in the mainstream film Tully where one of the main characters said, "I like to think people can surprise you." So I had this natural aversion to the title of Shorty iz Fuckin' Yo Mama. Something about it seems to play on the absurd stereotype of the taboo interracial relationship.

So to judge a book by its cover, this disc would play into that stereotype and alleged taboo. Imagine my surprise when the disc itself turned out to really be downright amusing. Outside of the main menu, where overexposed media assumptions of hip hop culture pervade (can you tell I feel strongly about this?), the disc itself is really well balanced, and Shorty Mac himself doesn't portray an over the top character. Best of all, this is essentially a gonzo flick with a consistent storyline, something most studios can't seem to put together.

The premise here is that Shorty is on a job interview, and the camera operator is actually filming him for film school. Why is never really established, but it doesn't stretch credibility too badly. Daryl Hanah gets things rolling, a lovely looking blonde who is interviewing Shorty. What got me was that it was a somewhat believable interaction... neither one of them was obviously uncomfortable with their lines, and the result, while implausible, was not poorly acted. She decided she didn't have a position for him at the office, but there was some work at her house that needed to be done. And yes, you can guess where it goes from there. The sex, like much of the sex on this disc, is perhaps a bit bland, but is shot well and everyone seems well into it. It is hot that Daryl is wearing her wedding ring... there's something about that which immensely works for me. It probably has to do with the polyamorous (your Wikipedia word of the day) nature of OranjeWife and myself. Or I'm just happy with the idea that sex can be shared beyond marriage. Whatever. It works.

It's a well-lit scene, this one with Daryl, though a bit limited in what they do. How when Daryl bent over Shorty didn't want to bury his face in her ass is beyond me. But like most of this film, it's a no-anal zone. Good mouth shot to finish the scene, though.

And it seems that Daryl has been sharing Shorty's services with her friends. That was kind of a slick way to link the scenes together, really. Next up is adult icon Angelica Sin, and while she might be bigger than she used to be, she still looks phenomenal. Her legs and ass look the same as they ever have, and the little bit of extra weight actually seems to make her more real. A performer seeming like someone in real life is another nice touch. Whatever the case, I was really looking forward to Angelica's scene. Again, the sex is a bit limited in what they do, but it is well shot, well performed, and otherwise fine. Plus we get another mouth shot at the end, swallowing always being a turn on in porn.

Other highlights include the jaw-droppingly gorgeous India Summer, sporting her wedding ring and some nice stockings. Really good stuff, here. And the always in control Nina Hartley gets her thing going as well. Her look has never been my thing, but her performances are always thoroughly convincing. That's half the battle.

The sound and video quality are both very good throughout, though there are times when the camera work and lighting could have been a touch sharper. The initial job interview is a touch hard to hear as well, suggesting only a camera mic. That's okay, the story was supposed to be low budget. Now if you can get past the marketing of this film, you'll find a pretty darn well made porn flick, and unless you're looking for some ass play or a specific fetish, you'll probably be rather satisfied with Shorty's work. He sure seems to be.
