Big Boob Orgy

It's always a pleasure to review a new video from director Mike Quasar, especially when released by a quality-conscious company like 3rd Degree. His direction is clean (as in uncluttered) and straightforward, and he manages just the right visual balance when it comes to close-up, explicit, hardcore action and just showing off the physical assets of his female talent. For years he has produced consistent and quality work, without indulging in any overbearing artistic pretensions, or succumbing to the base standards typified by the gonzo genre.

Admittedly, I did have concerns over how the action would be handled in a porno brandishing the "in-your-face" title BIG BOOB ORGY. With very few exceptions (John Stagliano's FACE DANCE, Kirdy Steven's TABOO and Andrew Blake's HIDDEN OBSESSIONS, for example), most videos simply don't do well when it comes to multiple partners performing in one single setting. There is always this awkwardness where the viewer can't help feeling that something more interesting is happening elsewhere no matter where the camera is focused. The large grouping can either look too staged or too sloppy, thus interfering with our ability to take in all the action. And when done poorly, even the most well-populated orgies can turn out to be a boring mishmash of sound and fury, signifying nothing. (Just witness the excruciating finale in THE FIESTA despite the presence of the always amazing Briana Banks, or the aimless ramblings of A POOL PARTY AT SEYMORE'S to see how more can often mean less.)

Fortunately, Mr. Quasar does nearly everything right in BIG BOOB ORGY. While legs, heads, genitalia, and of course boobs are scattered everywhere, there is an orderliness in his camera work and confidence in his editing which assure us that we're seeing the true highlights of this carnal cacophany. The whole orgy idea is introduced through Amy Ried, who is organizing a party at her house, where hot babes and lucky guys seem to drop in without the need for an RSVP. Of course, top-heavy women are the preferred performers here, but there is no overwhelming emphasis merely on boob-play, nor do we sacrifice the girls' other physical qualities just for the sake of indulging in grotesquely disproportionate implants. Since I personally am not obsessed with breasts, I feared that we'd get mountains galore, but at the expense of cute face, so kudos to Quasar and company for not sacrificing erotic quality to mere novelty.

There are some understated bits of genuine visual humor, like James Deen getting blown by wildly by Tyla Wynn in a hallway as party attendees casually pass by, and John Strong getting caught in the party by girlfriend Carmella Bing, who earlier expressed misgivings about his attendance. It's little touches like these which make BIG BOOB ORGY more than just an exercise in sexual logistics. Further, with reputable performers like Katja Kissin (who ends her scene with an impressive cum-swap and swallow after getting blasted anally), Amy Ried, Bree Olson, Britney Stevens and Mikayla Mendez (whose sultry Latin beauty makes her stand-out in the crowd) in the mix, I can't recall a single shot which was anything less than enjoyable. Bodies are nearly in constant motion throughout, with enough sexual variety (anal penetration, deepthroating, double-penetration and double duty blowjobs) to prevent monotony from setting in. (It goes without saying that nothing is more distracting than seeing performers looking tired and bored in the background when the focus is not on them, which doesn't happen here.) If there is one complaint I have, it's that Tyla gets a bit too much screen time. I've never faulted her technical prowess, but her presence overshadows lesser-recognized girls like Lichelle Marie and Regan Reese. Then again, considering Miss Wynn's excellent DP work and satisfying cum-swap with Miss Reid at the end, there's no doubt that she deserves the attention.

As a "warm-up" to the main event, two full-length sex scenes and a couple of quickies set the stage. First, Amy Ried and Brooke Belle apply their upper lips to each others lower lips in a very arousing lesbian scene. Foregoing toys, vibrators and other devices, the two cuties let their fingers do the walking most of the time, with some hot deep kissing thrown in between positions changes, and a hearty pussy slam closing out their affair. Almost immediately afterwards, John Strong gets matched with Carmella Bing, a statuesque brunette who was notable in Swimsuit Calendar Girls 2. Though a mere "foreshadowing" to the boy-girl blasts to follow, their scene is every bit as good as what's offered in most of the better gonzo titles.

At this point, the viewer seems to have had more than enough erotic appetizers prior to the main course. Yet, we get three more segments of hardcore goodness, including Tyla Wynn performing two masterful blowjobs indoors while blonde Emilianna and Britney Stevens administer a pair of respectable hummers outside. By this time, we're already over sixty minutes into BIG BOOB ORGY, and one is left wondering whether the tension and energy can be sustained for the remainder of this two and a half hour epic. Fortunately, Mr. Quasar expertly leads us into the massive orgy beginning with a few minutes of footage where the party goers are milling about and socializing (though we're not privy to their scholarly conversations and academic discussions), and then Amy Ried walking into the room and announcing the main event...

The Blu-ray picture looks great. Images are softer in focus than most shot-on-video productions, but the picture is crisp and clean. The sound is acceptable for its straight stereo (2.0) presentation, but dialogue can often be difficult to hear due to miking problems, even with the absence of any background score. A 20 minute Behind The Scenes presentation (shot in high def by Tony Flush) featuring several quick interviews and some tease shots is impressive and merits repeated watching if only to appreciate the efforts of the videomakers. But for whatever reason I could not determine, speed-search navigation for that featurette was not possible on my PS3 Blu-ray player, nor could I activate the controls during the always appreciated Cumshot Recap. Finally, in comparison to the standard DVD version, bonus scenes have been left out on this single Blu-ray platter, but given the overall quantity of hardcore served up here, I have no real complaints about their absence.

There's not much more I can say about BIG BOOB ORGY without looking too much more of a fawning boob myself, so let me end it here by giving a complete "tits up!" recommendation to a an excellent video and fine Blu-ray presentation.

The problem with many orgy scenes these days is that they seem too staged. Performers are lined up properly, the action is planned out, and there's rarely any sex going on where the camera isn't pointed. Now I have no idea how planned or spontaneous the action is in Big Boob Orgy, but I can report that it appears spontaneous, and that's the major appeal of this big-breasted title.

Approximately 90 minutes of this 147-minute movie is devoted to the orgy action, and we get a nice buildup to the fun, which all revolves around Amy Ried throwing a housewarming party (and having the action filmed so she can sell it later to help pay for her new home).

Things kickoff with Amy and blonde-haired Brooke Belle getting into some girl/girl action in the bedroom. It begins with some kissing and tit-play and it's not too long before Amy is licking out Brooke's pussy. There are two schools of thought among porn fans when it comes to lesbian scenes, with one camp wanting to see nothing but the girls - with no toys, strap-ons or other devices uses; while the other camp enjoys action with as many devices as possible. It you're a member of the former, "purist" camp, you'll love the action here, as the two girls use only their own bodies and imaginations to please each other. The girls get into the 69 position a few times and also spend a few minutes grinding their pussies together before all is said and done.

Scene Two takes place in another house entirely, as John Strong informs his girlfriend/wife (not sure if the movie ever specifies) that he's been invited to Amy's party. John promises not to screw around while he's there, but just to make sure Carmella decides to wear him out before he leaves. Carmella gets John's cock nice and hard with her mouth and then allows him to fuck her ample chest with his tool. The two then move to a nearby couch for penetration in the reverse cowgirl, cowgirl, doggy and missionary positions. John then jerks his load onto her chest.

Before the really hardcore orgy action begins at Amy's party, viewers are treated to a number of blowjob scenes, starting with one that takes place outside by a pool with (I believe) Britney Stevens. After she takes a pop-shot into her mouth, we move inside for a BJ with Tyla Wynn and some lucky guy. At the half-way point of this scene, James Deen walks by and Tyla spends a few minutes blowing both guys, although James leaves before popping, and Tyla goes back to servicing just the one dude. There's also a third blowjob scene with a blonde (Devon Lee?) where the guy climaxes by jerking onto her tits.

There is so much going on in the final orgy scene that it would be impossible to describe it all in this review. However, a few of the "highlights" include Katja Kassin getting anally reamed; Tyla Wynn getting double penetrated by a pair of guys; and a funny bit where Carmella Bing arrives at the party and catches John Strong fucking another girl. This is one of those scenes where having the action shot anamorphically is a plus, since there's fucking going on everywhere, and a lot more can be seen in the widescreen format. Also, since the girls outnumber the boys here, the girls that aren't being attended to by the guys in this scene are making out with each other. I also appreciated the fact that you don't have to wait until the end of the scene for all of the pop-shots, as we get a few during the course of the action. And, of course, what would be an orgy at Amy's house without seeing Ms. Ried get her own cumshot (a facial she shares with Tyla Wynn) at the conclusion?!

With the movie taking up well over two hours on Disc One, 3rd Degree has moved all the bonus features over to the second disc. The extras include a 20-minute anamorphically enhanced behind the scenes look at the movie, which includes a lot of interview footage with some of the female cast. 3rd Degree has also included three full-length (and also anamorphic) scenes from other titles: a Nikki Benz/Marco Banderas pairing from Nylons 2 (26 minutes); a scene with Shyla Stylez and Mark Ashley from Crack Addict 7 (25 minutes); and a Bree Olson/Sascha coupling from Tits Ahoy 5 (25 minutes). Rounding out the bonus features are a slide show; a cumshot loop option; and five trailers for other 3rd Degree DVDs.

Because the orgy scene has so much going on in it with so many performers, Big Boob Orgy has a high replay value to it. You're probably going to have to sit through the orgy a few times just to enjoy all the kinky fun that is taking place. This one comes highly recommended.
