Sweet Spot, The

At first glance, Metro and Cal Vista's The Sweet Spot seems like another run-of-the-mill porno, with a low budget and not much creativity when it comes to camera work or sets. But upon closer inspection, one will find that the sexual action here is quite good - especially if one's tastes lean more to gonzo-type sex.

The story - what little there is (this is basically an all-sex release) - revolves around a sex club for swingers and the various characters that visit it. As the movie opens, Hillary Scott and partner Van Damage are a married couple who get into a threesome at the club with Monica Sweetheart. In fact, Van Damage is already busy pumping Monica in the missionary position when Hillary joins in on the fun. Hillary's wearing some sexy thigh-high black boots during this scene that really accentuate her legs. We get to see her ride Van Damage reverse cowgirl style, and after taking turns with the two girls in various positions, he jerks his cum into Monica's open mouth. Before the scene fades to black, we get to see some kissing and cum swapping between Hillary and Monica.

Scene Two is also a threesome, this time with Rita Faltoyano playing a nurse, Anthony Hardwood playing her patient, and Ben English playing the doctor. The action takes place in a hospital room and begins with Rita giving both guys head. As the action progresses, the guys take turns with Rita, with one fucking her while she gives a blowjob to the other. Eventually this leads to a double penetration, with Anthony's cock up her ass while Ben pounds away at her pussy. The fun concludes with both men jerking loads into her mouth.

Rita's also a participant in Scene Three, which is yet another threesome - this time of the lesbian variety, as blondes Kimberly Kane and Ashley Steel join in. The first half of this trio is all tongues and fingers, but the toys come out in the second half as we see Ashley getting a vibe stuck in her pussy, and Kimberly taking a glass dildo. Later, we see the glass dildo used on Rita by Kimberly, while Ashley watches and masturbates with her vibe.

At this point in the movie, we learn that Kimberly Kane's character was the one who founded the sex club, along with her then-boyfriend, played by Alex Sanders. Scene Four is a flashback to when they were together, and when they had a threesome with German blonde Annette Schwarz. The sex here features the girls both deep throating Alex early on, followed by Kimberly getting reverse cowgirl and doggy penetration, then Annette in the cowgirl and missionary positions. Alex cums in Annette's mouth, and then the two girls kiss and swap a bit.

The final scene is a one-on-one between brunette Jenna Presley and Barry Scott. It's by far the most "standard" of the sex scenes in the movie, but it does contain some kinkiness - particularly when Jenna squirts as she's riding Barry reverse cowgirl. The action, and the movie, conclude with Barry jerking a nice load into Jenna's face and mouth.

If there's a disappointing aspect to The Sweet Spot, it's that many of the starlet names that you see on the box cover, only have cameos (and non-sex ones at that) in the movie. So if you're looking for sex scenes with the likes of Justine Joli, Delilah Strong, Lux Kassidy or Alicia Alighatti, you won't find them here. I got the impression that Metro wouldn't have had these girls on set if they weren't actually shooting sex, so perhaps there's a sequel coming down the road...who knows?

The movie is presented anamorphically, at roughly the 1.78:1 ratio, but there is a slight hint of grain and occasional pixilation present that prevent me from giving the video quality a perfect score. Audio is presented in 2.0 Dolby, and is generally well-done, with the proper mix between the sounds of the sexual action, the performer's dialogue and the music in the movie.

As far as the bonus materials go, The Sweet Spot ranks as about average. There's a 22-minute behind the scenes segment that includes a lot of interview material with Rita Faltoyano and Alicia Alighatti, plus a slide show, cast bios, and six trailers for other Metro releases. There's also a good number of advertisements and banner ads thrown onto the DVD - whether that's a plus or minus is up to the individual viewer.

The Sweet Spot is far from the best movie I've seen from Metro, but given this is the "slow" time of the year for porn releases, it's one of the better newer titles on the market right now. There's certainly enough here to warrant a purchase, should you be a fan of one of the performers.
