Amnesiac

AMNESIAC is yet another Vivid Video production starring their top contract talent, Janine, who is sorely underused in this Ralph Parfait directed video. Even though the viewer is offered a standard five full scenes, this grainy, shot-on-film feature feels even shorter than its seventy-five minute running time. Part of the reason is that with Janine on camera, the chances of seeing her in a hot fuck and suck scene are zero and none, unless it's with a strap-on dildo, and that isn't quite the same thing. I have been a fan of this blonde goddess since she burst on the scene in Andrew Blake's breakthrough film, HIDDEN OBSESSIONS, but even my favorable feelings towards Ms. Lindemulder can't muster a recommendation for this disappointing release. Of course, having to sit through those useless multiple angles on almost every Vivid DVD doesn't help my viewing enjoyment either, but that is the least of AMNESIAC's problems.

The story is simple and obvious: Janine gets bonked on the head and suffers amnesia. Along the way, she meets a bunch of people who try to take advantage of her and her disabling condition (the heartless bastards!). Although I was waiting for someone to hit her on the head again so that she could regain her memory (it worked on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND and other sophisticated sitcoms), it never happens. And even though she has a memory loss, she still seems to recall her aversion to male sex partners, which is unfortunate for the viewer, but convenient for our favorite Vivid Girl.

While I lament the fact that Janine continues to abstain from straight sex scenes (unless you consider videotaped affair with washed-up rocker Vince Neil, which I would rather not have to sit through again), there is no doubt that she can absolutely sizzle in almost any girl-girl affair. In my rave review of BLONDAGE 3, I noted that she re-ignites the fire between her and longtime partner Julia Ann in a mad sex coupling that got me all hot and bothered. However, her three lesbian scenes here are unfortunately lackluster. She is prodded and penetrated by her doctor played by Alyssa Love on a gynecologist's table, a scene which seemed almost as mechanical and clinical as a trip to the dentist. Her tryst with blonde cutie Timber is nice, but unmemorable even though they go through the all the standard routines expected of all girl action like finger-fucking, sixty-nining, dildo fucking and so forth. The real problem with their scene is that there is no real chemistry between the two, and Timber seems uninterested in generating any. Janine's final scene with Chandler begins interestingly enough with some light bondage, spanking and domination, but quickly turns into a routine carpet-munching fest lacking much in the way of hardcore heat.

The other two scenes in this movie include a straight interracial encounter between the lovely Dee and the less than lovely Herschel Savage. Dee is one of the sexiest women to come into the porn scene, and was memorable in VCA's LADIES NIGHT OUT. However, I was less than enthusiastic to see old timer Savage get his way with yet another cute girl half his age. Timber makes up for her earlier scene when she is paired with Mr. Racquel Darrian in the film's best scene. Derrick Lane takes a break from his gorgeous real-life wife for a taste of Timber which begins with a rousing blowjob and ends with equally rousing doggy action. Since this is a Vivid feature, facial and oral cumshots are about as rare as an ugly, overweight Vivid Girl, so don't expect any. These two girl-guy scenes serve as bookends to all the lesbian activity, and seem to be more of an afterthought to the film to please the mainstream porn audience.

As always, the picture quality is mediocre, with rainy, soft-focus images throughout. Again, for some reason, all shot-on-film features from Vivid seem to suffer from this problem, which is actually less noticeable on videotape because of the lower resolution. Vivid jam packs their disc with all sorts of features, including clips and previews of other videos, and an interactive game which wouldn't exactly meet Playstation standards. Most of these extras are repeated on other Vivid discs, so if you've seen one, then you've probably seen them all.

AMNESIAC is an appropriately titled and an ultimately forgettable little feature.

Janine, Alyssa Love and Timber really made this movie a must for any Vivid fan. Vivid has been known to cut down films to the standard 72 minutes. Although this movie doesn't go beyond 90 minutes, every scene is in full-legnth and no cutting was done. The sex in this DVD is quite good, and a lesbian scene between Alyssa and Janine is very hot! The last scene, which features Timer, is very nice! I really liked this Vivid feature, and I suggest you check it out.
