I first saw Gabriella in CONTROL 9, and was blown away by her beauty, but left bored by her performance. I was hoping for an improvement here, but really got just more of the same.

In this self-titled flick, she seems more relaxed and self-confident, but her technique is still on minimal auto-pilot. Danny Mountain does what he can to ease her into expressing her sexuality, and when he ties her up to a bed - and later on, gets tied up himself - there is some genuine tension and heat waiting to flame on (as Johnny Storm might say). However, her kissing is robotic and tongue-less, and she gives head with little enthusiasm and absolutely no attempt at deep-throating. Luckily, Robby D.'s direction is excellent, with more close-ups than I've seen in any of his films and the fucking is so well-composed and photographed, that it truly deserves high definition treatment. Interestingly, Gabriella seems a bit more adventurous once Mr. Mountain is bound and "helpless." She blows him until he blows his load on his stomach, and then she goes down for a few more licks before the scene fades to black. Right before that point, we finally get to see her use her tongue a bit more, and well, it's pretty sexy and arousing. There is no doubt that Gabriella just needs a little more experience before her conduct matches her great looks, but given the fickle minds of most porn fans, it better be sooner rather than later.

Of course, after an "it was all right" kind of opening like that, things can't help but improve with the next few scenes. And sure enough, slender and cute Heather Vahn (wearing torn Daisy Dukes and a thin halter top) easily captures our attention as soon as she walks into a room. Erik Everhard appears earlier, dropping off a bag which contains a large dildo with a suction on one end, and a pink penis head tip on the other. Everhard lurks around the corner, while Heather contemplates what she should do with the device. Her better instinct guides her into sticking it on a glass door and then kneeling down to suck away. ...Which just so happens to be my favorite moment in GABRIELLA FOX NUDE. Madison Ivy first appears blindfolded, barely dressed in leather straps, and led around by Mick Blue into a living room. He coaxes her to suck on his tool while still blindfolded, and the sight of her mouth working on him is quite impressive. Though not as glamorous as Gabriella, Miss Ivy has the kind of talent which mere glamour cannot make up for when it comes to a good hardcore scene. Later, he removes her blindfold, and they fuck standing up and in other positions, with some pussy to mouth cock sucking in between. For the finale, he releases a large load into her mouth, which is slowly drooled out between her lips.

After Madison's notable performance, it's easy to see why Capri Cavalli's scene would be considered yet another slight disappointment. She's a definite hottie, with seductive eyes and mouth and a perfectly tanned body which looks great jut lounging around on a bed (which she does in the beginning, wearing the same type of torn jean shorts seen on Heather Vahn). However, this one is directed rather oddly and the hardcore lasts less than fifteen minutes. Scott Nails comes in for a little loving, but she's resistant. So he lies down beside her and uses some suction device to help him masturbate (and just what is wrong with a good ol' gym sock?). He eventually makes his way into her pussy, and bangs her while spooning, and then gets her to mount him cowgirl. However, she doesn't lick his dick until the end, and even then, there's just too much hand-y work going on during what should have been an extended blowjob session. I was hoping to see a bit more action, but once Mr. Nails shot his load, there was no hope of seeing more of Miss Cavalli in this film.

Almost as short, but far more erotic is the quickie between Asa Akira and Mick Blue. No set-up or introductions are even given for their affair. I appreciate the director's attempt to give us not just the same old bleached blonde, silicone-injected WASP-y types, especially for a flick which clearly enjoys a bigger production budget than your average throwaway porno.

As with almost all Digital Playground pictures, this Blu-ray presentation looks great. Of course, the problem with high definition is that details can be a bit too revealing. When Gabriella is bound on the bed, the camera can't help but expose all the surgical scars left by the implants with uncomfortable clarity. The 5.1 surround audio is always appreciated, but I still find myself bemoaning the lack of proper miking when the girls deliver dialogue or respond to interview questions. (In fact, during the always entertaining Behind The Scenes segment, captions are provided so that we can hear Robby D. explain that GABRIELLA FOX NUDE "is about moments.")

Those who may not be as unduly critical of the lovely Miss Fox will certainly find this disc worth owning. I'm keeping it for Madison Ivy's solid performance, and because of other eye-candy dishes like Capri Cavalli and Heather Vahn.
