No Man's Land Interracial Edition 2

The long-running all-girl series from Video Team, NO MAN'S LAND, has now issued out volume two of their so-called "Interracial Edition," and like the ethnic casting, the results are mixed. While any movie that has beauties like Dee and Felicia should have a sexy leg up on the lesbian video competition, unfortunately they don't do each other, and the partners with whom they are partnered are nowhere near as hot or as exciting. Instead we get four straightforward girl-girl scenes, and an ending all-girl orgy that are okay to good, but nothing really exceptional.

Since almost all lesbian videos are stuck with the familiar tried and true formula of tit-sucking foreplay, followed by cunnilingus, and ending with all sorts of uses for dildos, it's up to the actresses to try to create chemistry and heat in their scenes with extended kissing, dirty talk, and attitude to show the viewer that they are really into it. For fine examples of good, solid all-girl flicks, Jim Gunn's LESBIAN TEENY BOPPERS and LESBIAN CHEERLEADER SQUAD should be required viewing for any fan. In every scene, girls make out with each other like horny teenagers in the back of a Chevrolet; and although some of the kissing is a bit mechanical, at least it's a nice change of pace from the dildo and vibrator-dominated routines of most chick flicks. Michael Ninn's exceptional DIVA series features some of the most sensuously feminine moments ever captured on film, and remains one of my favorite lesbian series.

The problem in NO MAN'S LAND is that almost every scene simply focuses on the carpet licking and dildo prodding, with not much else. Hard-looking, but still attractive brunette Isabella shares a hot tub with Asian Amber, but both go through the motions like robots. Featured star Felecia fares a bit better when she warms up to blonde and busty Tina Cheri in the kitchen, but again, the foreplay is rushed, and we don't get enough full-body shots of Felecia's fantastic, all-natural figure. African American actress Bronze gets wet in the shower with Latino-looking Annie Bunz, with their scene being memorable for the extensive dildo ass-fucking and double ended dildo play between them. The always magnetic Dee is stuck with less-than-fully-enthusiastic blonde Jeannie Rivers. Both play tennis in the buff and then engage in a little off-court sex play, which falls back on the cunnilingus ending with dildo fucking formula and nothing more.

Finally, average looking brunette Shaena Steel, Asian Leanni Lei, and black performer India join Felecia in an all-girl orgy, each taking turns with a camcorder, apparently to memorialize their unmemorable event. Felecia by far, is the most attractive actress in the bunch, as well as the most fun loving. Although, there is a lot of action going on, I couldn't muster much interest. Certainly, there is plenty of pussy licking and holes being filled with fingers and foreign objects, but it's up to Felecia to supply all the heat, and it's just too tough of a task. The scene ends with a strap-on dildo squirting white liquid all over the participants that was unusual but not that erotic.

Despite an attractive cover of Felicia and Dee, gently caressing each other like a PENTHOUSE photo spread, the image quality of this DVD is rather colorless and murky which fails to flatter the women or brighten up the sex. The sound is comparable to the look of the picture: flat and uninteresting. However, the extras on the B-side of this DVD are not too bad: a section called "Centerfold Girls" features Video Team's contract African American actresses with brief clips of scenes from their other movies, which serve as an effective promotional tool. The trailers focus mostly on the UNITED COLORS OF ASS series, with plenty of interracial scenes for the interested viewer.

Video Team has the right idea of creating a "specialty" series for fans that like to see more variety in their lesbian videos, but doesn't bother to raise above the average, competent, mediocre production standards that afflict the majority of titles on the market. However, until Jim Gunn creates an interracial all-girl series of his own, NO MAN'S LAND might be just about the best we've got.

As of 2031, this volume is 22 years old! Still when I see this cover shot I chafe a little because infers that Felecia and Dee Baker might be hooking up in a scene. No no Nanette! Whole they make for great eye candy to move the merch, they are in different scenes. Dee does a passable touchy feely with Jeanie Rivers and Felecia is paired with Tina Cheri. For trivia sake, Dee and Felecia did end up on set together in another vid, forget the name, and it was only on a three-way with a girl named Chandler and they pretty much stayed on opposite ends of her. Here the style of shooting was dominated by the hot director of the day, Tom Stone, who was also doing the Pickup Lines series among others. He had this slow dreamlike pace, with spacey music, and action was much softer than the average gonzo content of the day. He also liked have performers start a scene by watching porn on a big screen. I'm serious,if you are lying down, waiting for something to stroke to, you could be in danger of nodding off. All the various No Man's Land themes eventually got better after someone else took the helm. This probably bargain priced so have at it of you're as hooked on Dee or Felecia as I was. - A Dee Fan
