Never Say Never

Kaylani Lei stars in NEVER SAY NEVER, a simple but very effective vignette-oriented feature directed and written by Brad Armstrong. Its premise is as basic as porn gets: make a list of rules and cliches stating what not to do, and then show the opposite. So basic manners like "never talk with your mouth full" result in Miss Lei delivering a wet, slurpy blowjob on Mr. Armstrong (directing porn must be the best job in the world!) while talking on her cell phone to another guy, and ethnic taboos such as "never date outside your race" (apparently, still being promoted by certain public officials in Louisiana) lead into Kaylani having sex with African-American, Deep Threat. I have to hand it to Mr. Armstrong for dispensing with the overwrought and tired dramatic cliches afflicting too many of their recent releases, and giving us a straightforward porn film free of such pretensions.

Even better is the fact that Kaylani stars in the six of eight scenes, graciously taking a break so that hottie Jenna Presley can get worked over by Eric Masterson, and later allowing Angelina Valentina and Alexis Texas to get picked up by Derrick Pierce for a car-side threesome. Miss Texas is especially notable in her scene, looking fantastic in a white fishnet top, white skirt and black bra when she gets screwed doggystyle with Angelina sitting below.

However, it's Kaylani's movie all the way, and she's good in just about every scene: sucking cock with a passion (especially during her blowjob-only segment with Armstrong), riding her guys with gusto, and taking facials from everyone except Deep Threat, who chooses to splooge on her crotch. Even though I am a fan of hers, I acknowledge that the lovely Miss Lei doesn't have the same natural energy as a Tori Black, nor does she display the same dirty passion as a Jenna Haze. (The always terrific Tory Lane easily steals the spotlight during their threesome with Mr. Armstrong.) That she does her first onscreen anal in this movie doesn't really change my mind about her abilities. Her credit-interrupting, climactic finale with the director has him plowing her butt while she lies on a table. Although Kaylani puts on a decent show, but the lack of build-up and absence of an entry shot diminish the impact. Still, her mechanical efforts are appreciated, and Kaylani fans will want this flick just for this scene.

Even though this was yet another video photographed by Francois Clousot (who often seems to insist on lighting his scenes with 50-watt bulbs), the images were much brighter than normal, and therefore, much more pleasing to the eye. Shadows and lack of lighting certainly make Kaylani's pairing with Deep Threat difficult to see, but other scenes don't suffer as much. Given the anatomical significance of this release, I was surprised that a Behind The Scenes segment wasn't provided on this disc. Instead, we get a Bonus Scene involving Miss Lei and Rocco Reed excerpted from FORNICASIAN, along with the typical studio promos, trailer and photo gallery. A documentary look at Kaylani going through her first backdoor experience would have been worth the effort, but then again, given the unremarkable results, maybe the director wanted to avoid any backlash from overhype.

Kaylani Lei and Wicked Pictures make quite a combo and they prove it once again with the sinful Never Say Never. Kaylani Lei stars as your host on a carnal adventure of lust and temptation. Through a series of vignettes we are taken on a forbidden fantasy tour. Various taboo subjects such as 'Never with a different race' and 'Never Fuck your girlfriends ex' are explored by sensual Kaylani Lei and a host of superstar and newbie favorites.

Kaylani is the undisputed star of this movie and she appears in 6 of the 8 scenes. Some of the men she takes on include Danny Mountain, Deep Threat, Brad Armstrong, Tommy Gunn, and Marcus London. There is no straight lesbian scene included, but there is a hot threesome with the incredible Tory Lane if you're craving some girl-girl action.

In the first scene without Kaylani, Jenna Presley heats up the screen with Eric Masterson and puts on quite a show. The other, sans Kaylani scene features everyone's favorite big ass superstar Alexis Texas teaming with Angelina Valentino to take on tattooed male star Derrick Pierce.

Just when you think the feature is over, Kaylani lays her own personal Never on the viewer. Kaylani Lei has always said she would never do anal on camera, until now! The disc ends with her first ever on screen anal scene, and for her long time fans, it sure is about time! She only takes it up her ass missionary, but the scene is hot. Watching Kaylani rub her clit while she take is in the ass, is a must see for any long time Kaylani fan.

The bonus materials contain a photo gallery, trailer, promo reel, as well as a bonus scene. The bonus scene is Kaylani and Rocco Reed from Kaylani Lei's Fornic-asian. A nice little bonus on a DVD full of Kaylani. The sound and video are well done, except for the random scene where the lightning could have been better. But I think Never Say Never is a must have for any fan of Kaylani Lei.
