Lollipop Babies

"Always Fresh & Juicy" proclaims the logo of Cherry Boxxx Pictures, a new studio on the block which is already releasing their own brand of gonzo videos such as WET BETWEEN THE THIGHS, SIX TALES OF TEASE and a slew of other titles with the word "Cherry" in the title. As it just so happens, the front boxcover of LOLLIPOP BABIES put an instant smile on my face and a woody in my pants, thanks to the alluring face and figure of Stephanie (Tripp). This lovely Latina is a Sheila E.-lookalike who was so sexy and charming in the excellent CUM DRIPPERS #5, that I was determined to give LOLLIPOP BABES the benefit of every possible doubt. Unfortunately, this monotonous little movie failed to live up to my most compromised expectations (and not just because there is no anal sex in it), and after all was said and done, I was glad to finally reach the end of this two hour flick.

Even the title fails to live up to its suggestive promise. Not that I enjoy that sort of thing, but one would think that if these girls were going to be playing with lollipops (most of them are cherry flavored, if you care to know), they would do something more than just unwrap and lick at the candy, but that's just about all we get with most of the girls. Some of the them use the candy to block the oral cumshots, but the delivery of most of the uncredited (though usually heavily tattooed) male talent is often close to pathetic. Peter North could teach these guys a thing or two about delivering the money shot. And it's of questionable taste to refer to these girls as "Babies" even though none of them are (thankfully!) to do any "ga-ga"-ing or "goo-goo"-ing. In this day and age where Barely Legal chicks reign supreme, I guess that every video company has to boast some youth-themed title.

After the opening credits, the camera focuses in on Gina Ryder, dressed deliciously in sky blue lingerie, but looking ridiculous as she sucks on a wrapped Charm's Blow Pop. She attempts to tease us with words that can barely be heard, and you find yourself thinking "what did she just say?" instead of getting lost in her seduction. Her scene is directed and photographed in the all-too familiar gonzo style, leaving very little room for kissing or any other type of foreplay. The formulaic adequacy of her scene (some fellatio work, some cunnilingus, fucking in several standard positions, a little vagina to mouth action, and then an uneventful facial) is pretty much mimicked throughout the flick.

One of my new favorites, Stephanie Tripp looks damn sexy in this title, but director Rick Davis doesn't bring out her unrestrained carnality as well as Vince Vouyer did in the aformentioned CUM DRIPPERS #5. As a result, viewers might find her scene enjoyable, but probably not all that special. However, she certainly seems more involved in her scene than Kelly Jensen, an otherwise attractive blonde who exhibits a dazed and glassy-eyed look throughout. She does shove her candy up her twat once or twice, and then laps at it hungrily, but except for some well-done cocksucking, her scene is more than a bit bloodless.

Blonde Josie James is simply too street-looking and too heavily tattooed for my tastes. She is a bit nastier than the others, going so far as to rim her partner, a Howie Mandel-lookalike who gleefully spreads his legs and cheeks for her tongue. If you like the rough and tough look, Miss James is definitely up your dark alley. Much better eye candy (pun intended) is long haired Jolean, who does her best to improvise some introductory dialogue but the results are stilted and awkward ("Hi, my name is Jolean. I am from Indiana, and I came out here...so...I could...play with some...nice...hard pieces of...candy. Maybe a stick or two." Huh?!?!) while unwrapping and sucking on a grape flavored pop. She gives good head, and gets into her scene convincingly, but her natural lust is hampered by the routine direction.

As previously noted, the audio is often difficult to hear, which really spoils the potentially erotic effect of having these girls greet their audience with some dirty talk. Picture quality is generally acceptable, though colors are muted and the dull studio settings just add to the generic design of this video. When you have performers who merely keep themselves busy going through the same motions (and emotions) against the same, static background, it all adds up to two hours of tedium.

Extras on this disc fare no better. Aside from a Scene Selection menu, a hardcore Slideshow and promotional text, there is nothing much to see here, which is pretty much how I felt about the main feature itself.
