This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX

THIS AIN'T BEVERLY HILLS 90210 XXX is an adult parody of a popular television series from yesteryear. What a surprise. I suppose I shouldn't be too critical against this genre, no matter how much of a cliche it's become, and no matter how predictable the results. After all, through name and novelty recognition alone, these titles sell like tickets to the next STAR WARS movies. However, like the prequels themselves, that doesn't mean that these videos are that great. My biggest gripe is that once you're past chuckling at the familiar characters and the striking set designs, all your left is a bunch of sex scenes stung together by the thinnest of storylines. Director Alex Braun has made some excellent parodies like the STAR TREK XXX movies, but he and other directors can sometimes fall pretty flat.

Having spewed all those prejudices, I have to state that THIS AIN"T BEVERLY HILLS 90210 had enough arousing hardcore scenes and wit to make it enjoyable from beginning to end. It may not succeed wildly as an insightful and witty satire on the once-popular series, but as source of some effective wanking material, it does extremely well. In truth, I only caught glimpses of the original series back in the nineties (and only through the insistence of my girlfriend at the time, and only because I wasn't reviewing adult DVDs as a vocation), and I've actively avoided seeing the latest incarnation of the show simply because of my lack of tolerance for teen angst as suffered by beautiful, post-high schoolers with tons of money. THIS AIN'T BEVERLY HILLS 90210 XXX movie plays more like a comedy than a drama, which suits me just fine, but might disappoint those who want to see a true send-up of overblown teen tragedy. Therefore, we get scenes in which the dialogue comes off as smarmy and cliched, especially notable in the second carnal pairing where Miss Hendryx gets counseled by Eric John who plays Mr. Walsh. He talks to her about sex in the same way that any old-fashioned father might, but then sticks his dick in her mouth before she's able to respond fully.

Still, I was able to appreciate Madison Ivy's terrific impression of Brenda, and Brad Harvey's striking resemblance to Steve made me do a double-take. Alexis Texas looks great, and does amazing oral work on Allan Stafford in the very first scene, but her zaftig figure really doesn't strike me as Kelly. Also, wide-eyed Jenny Hendryx is much too pretty to play Donna but I was captivated by her bouncing up and down Eric John's cock in the second scene. There's no doubt that it's to Mr. Braun's credit that he's able to remind me of forgettable TV characters with a few well-played mannerisms, creative costumes and hairstyles, and a characteristic line of dialogue or two. Even if not all of the actors convince you in their roles, their expertise in the art of sex will keep you captivated.

Mackenzee Pierce teams up with Tiffany Star to do Chris Johnson in the following scene, which predictably takes place in the diner after closing hours. It's a pleasure to see Miss Pierce in action, and this is probably the first time I've seen her with a guy and a girl. A little more lesbian play between the two brunettes would have been nice, but I have to say it's one of the better threesome I've seen in a movie like this. (Too many parodies contain hardcore which is performed lazily and mechanically, as if the very act of seeing familiar pop culture characters having sex is good enough for the audience.)

In a shameless bit of self-promotion, the movie takes us to another setting, this time at Hustler Hollywood (the indoor shots still look like they were taken on a set) where Alanah Rae meets up with Brad Hardy, who is miserable over Alexis cheating on him. They do it in the store, and assuming your eyes aren't too distracted by all the product placements, what you'll find is a good straight scene with some excellent cocksucking by Miss Rae, and in which the money shot ends up all over her glasses (which she cleans with her tongue).

The movie ends with Madison Ivy and Joey Brass (playing Dylan) having an affair in "Mexico" (otherwise known as another nearby studio set). While it's not quite the controversial twist ending I kinda-sorta wanted (I thought for sure we'd get a scene where Brenda gets it on with Brandon), their coupling is pretty damn hot and aided by some great shots of Madison's legs and ass barely covered by a tight green dress. Again, I was impressed by Miss Ivy's imitation, made all the more fascinating by the way she looks and acts bitchy even while deepthroating and taking an oral cumshot.

The bonus features on this DVD are great (and have also been carried over to the Blu-ray release, which boasts better detail and stronger colors). A bloopers reel and Behind The Scenes featurette provides some supplemental entertainment to this lightweight, yet effective main feature. The Bonus Scenes provide only a single (but excellent) threesome starring Alexis Texas, Denise Moore and Otto Bauer taken from HUSTLER XXX 31, and the rest are more studio promotions for phone and internet sex, as well as trailers and the Hustler Hollywood store (which, I believe has already been given its fair share of advertising time during Alanah Rae's scene).

Overall, this episode of 90210 aroused and entertained me more than the original series ever did. Highly recommended.
