Riedality

The awkwardly titled RIEDALITY is a predictable, but highly enjoyable gonzo title which seems heavily influenced by the early SHANE'S WORLD series of yesteryear. Here we follow director and star Amy Ried and a couple of her friends on a roaming adventure around the trendy spots in LA and New York. The settings aren't necessarily glamorous (a mall, a hotel, a clothing store and other places where common mortals tread), and the sex scenes are about as surprising and spontaneous as an old rerun of JOANIE LOVES CHACHI. While I appreciate the video's intent on showing Amy Ried and Ashli Orion just acting like normal people (we watch them riding on a Merry-Go-Round, shopping for lingerie, and shooting rifles on a range), they don't pull it off with the same degree of pure fun and fancy that girls like Shane, Yvonne and Alisha Klass (all of whom happened to be prodigies of Seymore Butts) portrayed in their videos. There's just something a bit too contrived with RIEDALITY to make it the "girls gone wild" classic that it strives to be.

Yet, the hardcore action is consistently hot and always arousing. While adult is filled with more than their fair share of busty blondes, Amy's expertise in the erotic arts sets her apart from other girls who are merely going through the motions. She appears in all of seven scenes which make up the three hour running time, allowing some oral cumshots and sperm swapping when paired with her co-starlet, though there's no anal to be found anywhere. But at no point did I get tired of watching her work. Her first two scenes team her up with the lovely Ashli Orion, a super cute brunette who provides a nice visual complement to Miss Ried. They take turns pleasing Sascha in an SUV, and then later turn their attention to Bill Bailey in far more comfortable settings - namely, on a living room couch). The pleasure of watching two female forms in sexual competition with each other should be obvious to any male who has ever fantasized about a girl-girl threesome, and both scenes are fully satisfying.

Amy then lines up one guy after another during her days and nights on the town, and lucky bastards Alex Gonz, Justice Young and David Loso get their fill. The final scene reunites our featured starlet with Miss Orion, and they seem perfectly giddy over the idea of pleasuring Justice Young and Jordan Ash, with public displays of oral affection (blowjobs which begin in a darkened booth, and continue later in a parking lot) eventually leading them into a hard and hearty session indoors. Again, I've rarely seen videos where a single starlet was able to carry an entire video without making the action seem repetitive and rote, but Amy impresses greatly. Of course, the considerable talents of Ashli Orion are equally appreciated, but it's Miss Ried's movie all the way.

The bonus features include some Behind The Scenes footage which runs less than five minutes, and a bonus scene starring Amy and Scarlett Pain, which I didn't find appealing at all due to my lack of attraction to Miss Ried's co-star. The video and audio presentation is technically excellent when it comes to the DVD production, itself but the original camera work is less than fully professional. Many scenes go in and out of focus and are lit a bit amateurishly, which may or may not be a contrivance on the part of the director in order to give the title that "reality" look. New Sensation usually has top notch productions, so I doubt any such faults would be accidental. None of these issues, however, interfere with my sheer enjoyment with the main feature. In the end, I look forward to the further adventures of Miss Ried as I patiently wait for the release of the upcoming RIEDALITY 2.
