Sunshine Highway 2

My first thought upon seeing the boxcover for Sunshine Highway 2 was that I was having a flashback to the halcyon days of the 1990s, when porn came in oversized VHS boxes and it seemed there were about 20 people total working in the industry. There is just something about it that seems charmingly dated. But the graphic design is where the similarities end, as Adam & Eve have produced yet another film of high quality, packaging familiar and fresh talent side by side with technical excellence. While perhaps not an instant classic, Sunshine Highway 2 should be welcome in couples-friendly collections.

I'm thinking it would be a fun vacation one of these years to go to one of these mock Western towns that they always use as film settings. That has to be a kind of spooky simulacrum. Alanah Rae does her best in the first scene to make me forget about my future travels, however, the pretty blonde strutting her curvy body around an otherwise deserted Main Street, though admittedly walking a bit awkwardly in those boots. Maybe I've been doing this job too long (has it really been a decade already?), but the lead-in seems a bit overdone, especially as it seems to be more about showing off production techniques rather than setting up eroticism. A bit of "Look! I'm a director!" Alanah ducks into the bar and comes back out with a couple of beers... it would have been far cooler if they had gotten a couple of antique bottles for this scene. As it is, they don't really have the wardrobe or demeanor going for an Old West scene, just the setting. What's really a crime is that he throws the away. Way to make the male talent into an antagonist. One of the things I have to get used to with Adam & Eve these days is that they aren't quite as vanilla as they used to be, with a very vigorous blowjob, complete with a bit of skull fucking, replacing the couples-only eroticism of years gone by. It makes for a harder scene, though not uncomfortably so. She works at it for quite some time, which is fine as her top doesn't stay on for long, and her breasts are simply fantastic. The penetration is all well and good, though it's very genital-centric. I like a bit more body watching than they allot us here, as it seems to get very repetitive on what's going into the hole taking up the entire screen. There's some variety, granted, but not enough. Reverse cowgirl is nice, though they again suffer from not enough in the way of establisher shots. The ones they do go for, like near the beginning of the sequence, are very pleasant, and would for a good shot to stick with as the main for the scene. It gets about half-attention, which is good enough, I guess. Still, I just felt like I couldn't see the whole scene, if you know what I mean. A decent mouth shot in the end, though they started off with a good camera angle looking down on Alanah, then immediately switched to a side view. Made me wonder if they had to do a double-take.

The scene most people will be tuning in for is the one featuring our ladies on the boxcover, Tori Black and Sarah Vandella. The premise is kind of a Dukes of Hazzard girls-on-a-picnic theme, though they've traded in the General Lee for a black Porsche. They do have vertigo-inducing camera work, so it is somewhat like the television series, I suppose. It's one of those all-girl scenes that starts off with the girls not touching each other, just looking, and when they do finally touch, there's food involved. I don't know what it is about sex and food that bothers me so much, but if you don't like your fresh produce straight from the crotch, this scene might annoy you a bit. Granted, there are some nice sequences here, with Sarah lustily rimming Tori (as we all would, let's face it) and Tori doing some other acts of facesitting, all really very nicely captured - even if it's with a strange lens filter. A good scene.

Sunshine Highway 2 is a pretty darn good film, if occasionally over-produced. David Lord did a nice job with talent here, and the result is a thoroughly watchable, relatively safe production that will in all probability not disappoint you or your partner.
