Ass-Spiring Performers

I probably am on too many crusades as a porn reviewer: to eliminate reverse cowgirl camera angles where the camera is on the floor; to eliminate extreme close-ups as a standard camera shot during most scenes; to get lighting right so that there aren't the kind of shadows in scenes that too frequently exist. But I have to add one more to the list, and that's getting the stars of Euro flicks to knock it off with putting makeup on with a shotgun. Ass-spiring Performers should be a simple film for me to love, but looking at the boxcover makes me initially wary just for the caked on products and ample Photoshop. They might as well produce CG stars if they're going to do this.

Also very importantly, the Free Speech Coalition advertisement against video piracy is included. I wholeheartedly agree with their efforts, and I would also like to call on enforcement agencies to get their act together and defend the adult industry. I know it may not be politically expedient, but it really needs to be done. Let them hear you out there.

Nikki Rider occupies the second scene on this disc, and if you give me a stacked brunette in black stockings, I'm probably going to tune in every time. Her appearance is not the caricature from the boxcover, though the makeup is still overdone. It washes out what appears to be very nice eyes. I love the combination that comes out with the guy seemingly getting dressed for work (and getting help tying his tie) while she's just lounging around in lingerie. Are there marriages like that? There is a bit of the old icky porn kissing, the type you don't see much anymore where it's just tongue flicking everywhere. Lots and lots of head in this scene, too, so as a guy I'm pretty happy at that. They definitely take their time getting to the anal in this scene, with plenty of time for each position and fellatio seemingly always the transition. You can tell, when she gets him good and really wet that it's time for anal, starting with spooning. A gut shot in the end follows a few different positions. I don't know. Nikki really is lovely, and the scene is very nice to watch, but there isn't a great deal of jump here. A good scene, but not great.

Sarah Twain keeps the brunette action rolling in the third scene on this disc. They take far too long getting this one going, doing the contractor coming to work theme last way too long. So of course he's met at the door by Sarah, admittedly looking like a thinner Xena, in full black lingerie and already getting him out of his clothes. He doesn't argue, mind you. A slow scene getting going with the sex, too, though with lots more fellatio. Same deal this time, with not all that much chemistry or heat with it. Cumshot on her asshole in the end.

Cherry Jul seems to be the happiest of the lot being on camera, and this lovely lady gets her ass worked in the opening scene. With almost more of a gonzo approach, she shows off her body on a couch before her co-star comes in. Good sequences here, and quite a bit better chemistry between these two. Some good face fucking, too, though I found it odd that the director stayed with the angle that showed off Cherry's pussy at the same time throughout. Fixate much? Great reverse cowgirl anal, though I was amused that the guy wasn't even in yet and he started pumping. Far too low of a camera angle here, again with the crotch fixation. Tilt up and show off her body. That's the point of that position. A nice touch that she's smiling a bit while taking it up the ass and it doesn't look . A nice ATM leads to a nice mouth shot, though it's the one where her head is hovering over his dick. That's never a good angle for that.

I don't know, it's a good flick, though so much of the talent just seems to be going through the motion rather than really having any chemistry with their fellow stars. So Ass-spiring Performers is a good film, but I think some changes in casting (as well as a few ones in editing) would get this closer to perfect.
