Dark Knight XXX: A Porn Parody, The

Do you like to watch people dressed as comic book characters? Do you want to see them fuck? If so, Vivid's The Dark Knight XXX: A Porn Parody was made for you. If you're looking for a story, forget about it. The Dark Knight XXX is a clunker when it comes to storytelling. I mean really, really, awful. This two disc collector's edition has the usual feature of just watching the sex scenes, and also a bonus feature to watch the movie without the sex scenes. Definitely skip the non-sex feature. Most certainly watch just the sex. The plot, or what there is of one, is that Batman has skipped town and is in retirement. Or exile, or on sabbatical, or something. Bruce Wayne/Batman (Giovanni Francisco) sits in a cabin up in the mountains and broods; or he goes hiking and broods, throwing batarangs at innocent trees. He broods and thinks about the actions that have him to evaluate his life. I'm making this all sound deeper than it actually is. Well over half the movie is flashbacks of what drove Bruce/Bats into the mountains. Such as the shooting of Batgirl (Penny Pax), aka Barbara Gordon, in the back by the Joker (Brendon Miller). The shooting, which paralyzes her, comes after Batgirl gives herself to the Joker to free her father, Commissioner Gordon (Tom Byron in a non-sex role), who is the clown prince of crime's captive. After a slightly madcap romp on the couch, including Batgirl taking it up the ass from Joker, our heroine rushes to save her dad only to be gunned down. Oh, that Joker. It was a kick to have the shooting of Batgirl included in the movie, and totally unexpected. It was a sweet touch from the comic books. It was sweeter, though, to see Batgirl doing anal, especially with the Joker. Brucie's next flashback, and anguished memory, is a fight with Nightwing-- former
sidekick Robin. Nightwing (Brian Street Team) is head over heels for Poison Ivy, played by the delicious Dani Jensen. Though the character of Nightwing is rather dorky here, Poison Ivy compensates for him. Jensen turns this scene into a full on scorcher. She rides Nightwing's dick like she stole it. Just when Bats seems to be ready to drown in misery, Catwoman (Aiden Ashley) shows up to convince him to return to Gotham. The city is being tormented by a new villain, Bane (Derrick Pierce), and the people need their hero more than ever. Of course Catwoman's way of convincing him has nothing to do with debate or negotiations, she just unzips her leather jumpsuit and purrs on his cock. Thoroughly convinced to return to Gotham (who wouldn't be), Batman stops in to see Zatanna (Christy Mack) and John Constantine (Clarke Kent, funny I know). There's no real reason why these two characters are here, but let's not squabble over a good blowjob scene. Apparently, Zatanna tells the Dark Knight where to find Bane. Batman shows up to stop him and free a woman, Kathy Kane (Andy San Dimas). At this point in the movie, I felt I had missed something because I thought Kathy Kane was Zatanna and it made no sense. Realizing, now, they are two different people, it still doesn't make much sense. The Zatanna/Constatine scene jumping to the Bane scene is sloppy writing, but it's a porn parody and I'll excuse it since it led to a threeway between Bane, Kane, and Catwoman. This only happens after Bane has seemingly bested Batman in a fight. The Dark Knight XXX is only saved by hot sex. In costume. They never take them off. I could watch Dani Jensen and Penny Pax all day. And I'll take Jensen's Poison Ivy over Uma Thurma's any time. As a movie, it stinks. As a gonzo superhero fuckfest, it rocks. It feels like scenes from other movies thrown together. The behind the scenes extra is interesting to watch, shedding some light on the production and showing some of the love the cast and crew have for the material. Too bad the love didn't clear up the script.

Extras: The best extra for me was the 20:15 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Bud Fox. It included lots of Axel telling about his vision to contrast this version to last year's hit of his, the campy Batman XXX based on the old television show. There were additional interviews by Kylie Ireland and some of the performers, making it well worth checking out. This was followed by a 21:07 minute long non-sex version of the show, the production values enough to shine without the distracting porn elements (kidding!). There was a photogallery, some trailers, and the usual package of Vivid extras, including the smart phone scan coupon some have taken advantage of. All these were placed on the second disc of the package to insure the visual and audio elements of the feature were their best, both discs held in a booklet form holder.

Audio/Video Quality: The Dark Knight XXX was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for distribution by Vivid Entertainment. This time, Eli Cross, Axel Braun, and Corey Blake handled videography, Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton serving as Art Directors, and Axel assisting his wife on editing. In terms of how the movie looked, it was very crisp and straightforward, the kind of production you just do not see in the feature market these days unless it comes from one of the industry leaders (and his team). The visuals looked great with a handful of green screen effects too, the emphasis on the porn elements made for fans to appreciate but there was a company watermark on the lower right hand cover. The audio was presented in a basic 2.0 Dolby Digital with a 48 kHz sampling rate and 192 Kbps aural bitrate, the vocals clearly heard regardless of the situation. The music fit the feature and sexual elements of the movie, a relative rarity in adult entertainment, Axel joined by Brenda Blossom to make the music work so well.

Body of Review:
Axel Braun has been acknowledged as one of the top porn parody directors by most credible sources, his current distribution deal with Vivid Entertainment providing what is sure to win awards with the recent parodies under their label. Axel now offers The Dark Knight XXX A Porn Parody, the DC Comics hero that has probably been the most imitated comic legend in porn, Axel pulling out all stops to make this among his best of the year. Last year, the director gave his take on the television version of the character but he upgraded this time to tackle the Christian Bale trilogy, offering a plethora of villains though admittedly light on plot. Having seen all three of the mainstream hits in the theater, including Dark Knight Rises when it came out, it stands to reason that the relative disparities in budgets make doing a whole lot with the parody difficult but it still succeeded in most ways, the sexual pairings plenty heated enough to satisfy the spank banks of the comic fans that this was designed to please.

The back cover described the show like this: "A porn parody featuring a better Batman costume than its mainstream counterpart? A Catwoman who can actually kick ass? Zatanna? John Constantine? Nightwing? Poison Ivy? Batgirl? A Bane who can give his Hollywood counterpart a run for his money, and a Joker who's creepier than the late screen legend??? Welcome to the Porn Parody event of the summer! From adult powerhouse Vivid Entertainment and undisputed parody king Axel Braun, comes another epic exercise in geekgasmic film spoofing: The Dark Knight XXX." Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Penny "Batgirl" Pax, a newcomer with barely a half dozen titles under her belt at this writing, was up first and looking great in a skintight batgirl outfit. I have found her to appeal to the geek dynamic given the way she wears glasses and acts so demure until warmed up, her self sacrifice this time to get busy with Brendon "Joker" Miller, quite well done. Brendon was at bit more focused in the role than Paul Chapin was in his version, the nod to the Heath Ledger inspired character way better than expected. Penny was an active rider but she opened her perfect pucker too, her oral exploits as satisfying as they were thanks to her no hands hummer. She throated him with ease and applied a little hand to gland action to increase friction after awhile, her real strength being the way she pounded her flesh into his during the penetrative positions. Like my associate Chris, I found the way they kept in character and in costume to be a great touch here, the dynamic carrying through to other scenes as well. If you enjoy costumed grudge fucks, this was superb! The tryst ended when he beat off his genetic juice to her open mouth, most of the seed swallowed from the looks of it.

Scene Two: Dani "Poison Ivy" Jensen, a fetching redhead with nice curves, was up next as she used her feminine wiles on Brian "Nightwing" Street Team. While lacking the specific allure of the costumes from the first scene, both of them seemed well suited (pun intended) for their roles, Dani again dispelling the notion that she only does other women by the way she inhaled his pecker so well during the blowjob (most of her work to date has been sans men). She knelt before him and seriously slobbed his knob, the active vaginal fucking showing her to be much more experienced than one might think. She kept great eye contact and while their personal chemistry might not have been all that, their lustful mannerisms were plenty to make the scene work on several levels, the way she pushed back to meet his cock on the loading dock helping to fill my spank bank. Giovanni even kept in character as the stoic Bruce Wayne, somewhat off putting to my fellow reviewer but my take being that he was supposed to act this way. She looked great in her outfit and her all natural body helped make this a winner, sexually elevating the entire production though I would have thought a wisp of pubic hair would have made more sense for her. Still, the hungry look in her eye as she waited for him to toss off the splooge to her face was classic, the tasting showing her to appreciate her well earned reward.

Scene Four: Christy Mack "Zatanna", a hotty brunette with a classic look to her, was up next as a magical character in the DC universe, engaging in a tryst with another gadfly, Clarke "Constantine" Kent. Leaving aside the humor of the male performer's name in relation to the genre as a whole, I'll admit that I've seen sexier women in the role (Chanel Preston, Kristina Rose) but she was as sexy as she looked in her awesome role in Anal Lessons, the couple settling in for a blowjob only scene. Christy gave great head and any straight male (probably any gay male too) would appreciate how she went into the action so smoothly. She gave good eye contact and made the right kind of noises to show she liked what she was doing without the need to project a screaming porn whore like so many other newcomers do so often. I would have appreciated anything at all to tie the scene into the rest of the movie or to show what she could do, for that matter what his character could do (hers being a DC universe classic for decades and his more of a modern look at the supernatural; best known by those not into comics by the dreadful Keanu Reeves movies awhile back), but this was not meant to be. Still, for the pure sex of it all, she earned the modest facial of spunk directed her way, perhaps bigger roles giving her more room to shine.

Scene Five: Andy "Kathy Kane" San Dimas, Aiden "Catwoman" Ashley, and Derrick "Bane" Pierce, were up last in a dark warehouse. The fight scene preceding it was short but sweet, the ladies double teaming Derrick but including some lesbian action too. In terms of sets, this was my favorite by far, Ashley remaining in costume like Derrick did helping suit the overall dynamic of the day. The aggressive blowjobs gave the appearance that the ladies were vying for his attention more than affection, the tryst closing out the sexual portions of the movie with some needed diversity thanks in large part to Andy playing the voyeur role during so much of it. Derrick was the strongest of the men in terms of how well he fucked and Ashley was already established as the prime mover & shaker of the ladies for me, the anal fingering by Andy notwithstanding, their repeatedly taste testing his rod surely elevating the passion here. The ladies knelt before him to share the ball batter while he tossed off all over them, the decision to set this up as a sequel ready production somewhat irritating but understandable as well.

Summary:
The Dark Knight XXX by director Axel Braun for Vivid Entertainment merited a rating of Highly Recommended depending on what you are looking for in a superhero porn parody. Rather than focus on circus act sex like a similar title did a few years back or go the camp route, it walked the narrow line of giving just enough feature elements to work for those wanting their libidos tweaked in a genre flick and enough sex to keep those not acquainted with modern porn from turning it off. I'll admit I wanted "more" from both aspects of the show but it was quite entertaining, had some solid extras, the technical values were clearly a step above the pack of pretenders, and I expect it will be among the bestselling titles of the year overall. In short, The Dark Knight XXX A Porn Parody has had awesome staying power in the past month it has been out, Xcritic's initial review getting tens of thousands of hits rather than die off. If you're looking for costumed porn capers worth self satisfying yourself, you have certainly come to the right place. On a side note, special kudos go to costume designer Tiffany James and the entire production team for the moods invoked and how well the technical aspects enhanced the final results.
