Tasha's Pony Tales

This movie is pretty bad. The biggest mistake was having a butt plug with a tail attached in the way of the actors. You can see the frustration on everyone's faces.

I recently watched one of the most bizarre films I've ever seen - Reign Productions' Tasha's Pony Tales (2014).

Starring and produced by adult performer/UCLA undergrad Tasha Reign, Tasha's Pony Tales is about a group of girlfriends who drink some glowy purple love juice and get transported to Magical Pony Cloud Land. There, they become anal-plug pony princesses and have sex with various leather unicorn centaurs in order to milk their power, just because.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

But what did make sense was the product tie-in with Tasha's Reignbow Pony Plugs - fanciful handcrafted glass plugs that come in two styles and four ponytail colors (I know you want to know: pink, purple, blue, and bright yellow). So in the movie, when the ladies become pony princesses, they wear pony costumes - color coordinated lingerie, prick ears, and a Reignbow pony plug. It's kind of like Lion , with a climactic all-girl Voltron orgy at the end.

This movie looks amazing, like some kind of live action cartoon. The sets and props and general staging are a sugar rush; and if you can get over the idea of pony ears (something about the ears bothered me), the girls' costumes are really cute. They even have little rhinestone decals on their butts!!

Another thing about this movie was its tension - we start out with three girls wondering where their friend Rikki is... and then it's revealed that she went on ahead of her buddies... and then, after all the ladies gather up their fair share of unicorn centaur love juice, Rikki somehow manages to get to stay in Magical Pony Cloud Land!! This means she gets all the unicorn centaurs... and all their love juice.

Tasha lets it be known that she's pretty selfish to keep all the fun for herself after the ladies (minus Rikki) wake up back in the real world. And when you watch some of the BTS, things occasionally feel... tense. Hmmmm...

Tasha's Pony Tales is weird and I know I made a Voltron joke, but I also give her many props for this film - it's conceptually and aesthetically unique, different from anything I've ever seen in adult. And it's strategic.

Sex-wise, this is an awesome movie if you enjoy mostly boy-girl scenes with beautiful blonde female performers in front of a very colorful, fantasy-world background. That being said, I personally loved the four-girl orgy sex scene because there was a healthy amount of girl-on-girl fellatio and female masturbation with sex toys. Like other Reign Productions DVDs, the scene selection menu is set up so you can skip the set-up to each scene and get right to the hardcore sex if you'd like. If you like adult movies like Wicked Pictures' Satyr or Digital Playground's Island Fever movies, where you are taken to a fantasy world of exciting sex, you will probably like Tasha's Pony Tales. There are 2 main visual components of this film which I feel are worth mentioning. 1. Female performers' outfits. The 4 female performers are heavily-decorated with color-coordinated pony ears, wings, matching lingerie, and Tasha's Crystal Delights Pony Plugs. In addition to this base attire, it seems like each performer has been decorated slightly differently. For example, Tasha Reign has baby-blue ribbons and blue/pink streaks in her hair, Jessa Rhodes has pink body glitter, and Cameron Dee has decorative butterflies on her panties. A lot of detail-oriented work definitely went into dressing up the female performers. 2. Scene Backgrounds: In the behind-the-scenes interview, Tasha talks about how she wanted this film to be quite different artistically from other adult films. I believe she and director Barrett Blade accomplished this, especially in regards to the scene backgrounds. When watching the film, I noted that the backgrounds are not static. There are moving components in the background. For example, there are bouncing balloons, moving clouds, spinning and floating flowers, a waterfall, and bubbles. This is in sharp contrast to traditional backgrounds in adult films. For example, if you purchase a Big Wet Tits or Big Wet Asses movie from Elegant Angel, you usually have a completely white background, then a simple couch or bed in a clean house.

If you purchase a large feature film from Wicked Pictures, you tend to have a simple, clean bedroom as the background. It is also worth mentioning the audio component of this film. I think the audio choices were excellent for this film. I liked the way background music did not over-ride the scenes. Instead of having heavily sexy music, the sexiness arose more naturally from the noise of a waterfall or from sensual moaning. The lack of heavy rock music in the background definitely added to the overall feminine feel of this movie.
