Ball Busters

For anyone who has ever seen and enjoyed LET'S GET IT ON WITH AMBER LYNN (despite the questionable removal of an entire scene), SEX BUSTERS makes for a welcome companion piece to that VCA classic release. Directed by master pornographer Alex DeRenzy, BALL BUSTERS is a series of vignettes shot-on-film, with the same look and feel of the sex scenes found in LET'S GET IT ON. John Leslie (currently a top director under the Evil Angel banner) plays host to the film, which features a well-edited and smartly paced combination of straight and lesbian sex scenes.

The films begins auspiciously with a mohawked Sondra Stillman (also known as Lois Ayres) engaging in a threesome with Jamie Gillis and Dan T. Mann. While the scene is energetic, and features some ass-fingering (which is the closest we get to foreplay) this sequence no way represents her best work (see is much better and much more attractive in EVERY WOMAN HAS A FANTASY 2 and DEVIL IN MISS JONES 3 & 4). I have to admit that her dated and rather unattractive hair-style doesn't help matters much, although she does good work.

Blonde Gina Carrera and Traci Lords-semi-look-alike Jacqueline Lorians are really good intheir girl-girl scene, and their sixty-nine position is one of the best directed and filmed that I have seen, with full body shots of both women perfectly intercut with the close-ups. The legendary Nina Hartley gets it on with the equally legendary and now renowned director John Leslie in a simple straight scene, that serves as a reminder of why Nina is considered one of the all-time greats in porn. She sucks cock with such relaxed ease and with such passion that I wish their scene had been edited longer.

The classy Kelly Nichols, who could pass for a distant cousin of Ashlyn Gere, makes girl-girl love to bleached blonde Erica Idol before some lucky guy joins them in an energetic threesome. Other than her starring role in THE MISTRESS and non-sex roles in LATEX, Kelly Nichols DVD appearances are a bit scarce, but all her scenes are worthwatching. Her full-figure and naturally attractive looks are a nice change of pace from the bleach-blonde look-alikes which frequent porn (which is not to say that I am prejudiced against sexy blondes in my adult entertainment...especially in the form of Ginger Lynn, who just so happens to appear in the next scene...)

To me, the highlight of this movie takes place when everyone's favorite sex goddess enters the picture for a hot boy-girl segment. Even in a simple pair of short-shorts and a tank-top, Ginger is sex incarnate when she leads her lucky partner indoors for a mind-blasting blowjob, expertly filmed in a medium frontal shot to capture Ginger's lovely face as she swallows him whole. Truly, Ginger is one of the most gifted cocksuckers ever to bare her body and soul for the camera, and this short but very sweet scene is just another highly memorable moment in her porn career. The fucking positions are paced a bit quick to be entirely satisfactorily, but director DeRenzy has always made it a point never to pad his scenes with repetitive footage. Disappointingly, Ginger doesn't take a facial in this outing, but the lack of a well-placed cumshot doesn't affect the overall heat. If for any other reason, this DVD is a must-have for all Ginger fans.

The video ends on a low-key note when Joanna Storm works herself up in a fast-fingered fucking frenzy while having phone sex. Since masturbation scenes aren't my favorites, I can't say that I was too impressed. Following a scene with Ginger Lynn is difficult, but surely we could have been given a bigger bang than this.

Video quality is excellent. Although there is the occasional defect or two which pops upon the original print, viewers couldn't ask for a better copy of this nearly twenty year old video. Extras include an excellent photo gallery (with publicity and production stills, as opposed to merely freeze-framed sections of the video) , a series of modern movie trailers on the "B" side of the disc, and a scene selection menu (which is a standard feature onmost DVDs anyhow).

BALL BUSTERS is a very good video from one of porn's finest directors. Get it, and you'll find yourself slimed (in a good way!).
