"Nineteen: College Girls" Volume 39 is pretty much the kind of standard, average porno -- in terms of its content and execution -- that veteran viewers should really go out of their way to avoid. I figure if I'd only seen one or two movies before it, I'd find the action pretty hot (if not blistering) but at this point, I know I've seen better. I don't want to give it too hard a time, because on some technical levels the movie is actually almost exemplary (the lighting is always balanced - never too low or too harsh - and for the most part the sound is clear and crisp), but only one of the girls really had my interest, and through most of her scene I kept thinking it was a shame that she wasn't in "Hustler's Barely Legal" or "Grrl Power!" instead. Still, if this series has reached number 39, I figure it's pleasing some folks out there, so maybe it just wasn't my particular cup of tea.

The movie starts with trampy blonde Yvonne Paradise pulling into a dingy roadside service station because her car's overheating. Greasy pervert mechanic Dave Hardman is there to greet her, and make her a deal: he'll ditch the $850 parts and labor charges for repairs if she gives him a good lay. Yvonne, being a slutlet-in-training, figures that's an acceptable deal and proceeds to inhale his cock. Now, you can generally determine sexual charge from the B.J. scene, and this one's pretty tepid. I kind of like the fact that Yvonne doesn't look like a surgically enhanced fantasy woman, but at the same time energy is what's needed to make her stand out. The next scene is the best one, mainly because bottled blonde Charisma is a cutie-pie. She's got a delectable body and a fine pair of large, silicone-free boobs. Prime starlet material. The downside is that her scene isn't really all that amazing. Charisma's babysitting for married man Rick Masters, and she confesses to her diary that she knows he fantasizes about her. One day, dirty old man Rick invites her over and seduces her on the sofa. Now, this should be a hot scene, considering that I like the girlie. But...it really isn't all that amazing. Sure, Rick gets to eat her pussy and rub her nipples, but couldn't there be more energy here? More lust? Especially with that succulent tramp laid out before you? There's another hesitant B.J. before the missionary, doggy and spoon style sexing gets underway. I liked watching Charisma's tits bounce with each boff, but that really just isn't enough kink to get by, especially when titles like "Hustler's Barely Legal" can run circles around a scene like this. Let's hope that Charisma gets more work, and shows up for Larry Flynt. That will be a good day. Her facial finish is a terrific blast that floods her mouth and chin. The best part of the scene, besides the girl herself.

The last scene is "Part IV" of the adventures of an Indiana Jones-type dude called Jimmy Powers (played by the equally ludicrously named Johnny Thrust). I guess the first three parts appeared in the three volumes before this one. At any rate, you won't have any difficulty figuring out what's going on, as long as you don't fall . The segment dicks around with some "story" about Jimmy hightailing it to the Ivory Coast of Africa because the mob wants to whack him. He hides out, and before things get too boring, a title comes up to say that a year's passed and all of a sudden, he's making out with tawny tramp Cameron Myst in a jungle hut. The "native girl" blows him (once again, dispassionately) after he lunches on her labia. They doggy, missionary, and reverse cowgirl before he blasts her face and tits before...he wakes up! And finds out it was a dream! Yeah, whatever.

With better, more energetic fucking, this title could've been a solid winner, but as it stands I think it'll leave a lot of "experienced" viewers cold. Check it out only if you haven't seen much smut, or if you're a die-hard collector.

There are decent extras here, including a slide show (that's actually more like a photo gallery, meaning that you control the step-through instead of the DVD just playing the images for you as most slide shows do), internet info, and a goofy behind-the-scenes/"making of" tidbit where director Don Marque chats a bit about each star (and cryptically refers to this title as volume "29"). You see scenes being shot, hear wacky stories from the stars, and even spy on a possible fight brewing between Molly and Billy Rome. Nothing amazing, but hey, at least it wasn't a bare-bones disc.
