Highway 1 (Vivid)

Highway 1 is one of the first adult DVDs to truly impress me. With the release of Highway 1, Vivid DVD is setting the standard by which all pornographic DVDs will be judged.

The very first mainstream (ie. non-pornographic) DVDs had little in the way of features that the DVDs released now do. Sure, they had features, like director's commentary, but how many people really sat through two hours of a director talking over the movie. Today, mainstream DVDs have more of what people want. It's much harder to even find a movie with director's commentary.

The same thing goes for adult movie DVDs. My very first DVD purchase was a Vivid flick, Hawaii. It cost me a bit, and while the picture quality was good, and it had a variety of angles from which to choose, it offered little in the ways of extras.

What a difference a few years makes. With Highway 1, Vivid is not only showing much more commitment to the DVD format, and are not only giving their consumers more features, but they are also becoming almost like a mainstream production company.

From the opening scene, which features the stunning Dasha watching Dillion give Joel Lawrence a blowjob, it is evident that production values are higher. The picture quality shines as Dillion literally drapes Joel's cock with her saliva. Every single bubble on Joey's cock is visible, including one that eventually becomes larger than Joey's dick itself! Every stroke Joey takes while she sucks him off is also completely visible.

Dillion starts riding Joey in reverse-cowgirl style, and for the second time in the DVD the viewer can choose from three angles. This is only seven minutes into the movie, folks! After a couple more minutes, Joey starts licking Dillion's ass. He fucks her from behind for a little bit and then gives her a nice facial, all while Dasha watches.

There is very little actual highway in Highway 1, so those of you hoping for a plethora of outdoors scenes will be disappointed. There is one outdoors scene; every other scene is indoors. The outdoor scene does feature a knee-fucking segment, though.

Now, remember how I was talking about those features? Highway 1 is packed with 'em. First, there's the bonus menu, which would make this DVD rock if it was the only feature. Instead of those stupid int.sex.games that plagued so many Vivid DVDs, the bonus menu features four anal scenes, four scenes featuring girls with natural breasts, and four scenes featuring Vivid girls. Some of these scenes over 15 minutes long!

The other notable feature about Highway 1 is its audio, which is absolutely amazing for an adult video. This may not seem like it means much, but I'm telling you, Highway 1's soundtrack is the best soundtrack on any adult movie, ever. The music isn't cheesy at all, and hopefully this means that the quality of music in X-rated films will improve dramataciclly soon.

There is only one bad thing I have to say about this DVD. In a few instances towards the beginning of the movie, the words "BUY VIVID" flash in the lower-half of the screen. This happens more than once, and I guess someone at Vivid thinks this is a great way to advertise subliminally. Well, subliminal or not, it completely blows, and I hope Vivid does not keep doing this in the future.

It's a shame, though, because otherwise Highway 1 would be just about perfect. It's as close to perfect as I've ever seen in an adult DVD, and that is an accomplishment. Subliminal messages or not, you owe it to yourself to get Highway 1, as it's a tremedous value and great adult filmmaking.

Dascha is totally bored with her life working in a convenience store. She's so bored she's driven herself a little insane. Her stepfather who is the governor has no respect for her and considers her a failure and her mother is just a little off beat. Her boyfriend is a wuss that she's not really attracted to. But her dull life changes into the quest of a lifetime to get the man she finds irresistible. Herman walks into her life when he robs the convenience store she's working in. From that beautiful moment of when he holds her up at gunpoint on, she has to have him. So much so that she blackmails her father, by taking pictures of him having sex with his secretary, in order for him to pardon Herman. But when she goes to meet the man of her dreams at the jail, he's in the arms of another woman. So she follows them and spies on them having sex.

Determined to have him and being a bit irrational and insane, she grabs her boyfriend's and is off to murder Herman's girlfriend. To her very pleasant surprise, Herman admits that he's not committed to anybody. So they have a drink in celebration of Herman's new found freedom. Just when Dasha thinks she's got Herman right where she wants him, she propositions him to teach her how to become a robber. Upset and angered by this, Herman boots her out the door, exclaiming that he has straightened up his life and she is to stay away from him. Disappointed and very horny, she returns home for a raunchy romp with her boyfriend, although the whole time she fantasizes about Herman.

Crazed with obsession, the next day Dascha robs the store that Herman's working at, but it back fires at her and the cops, along with her stepfather (the governor) and mother, plead with her to give herself up. Shots are fired back and forth and poor Herman takes a bullet in the leg. At this point Dascha realizes the error of her ways and gives herself up. She's arrested and Herman, who already knows the cops well from being busted several times, asks them if he can ride with Dascha to comfort her. It's a porn, so of course the cops say yes. By Herman's request they stop in the park on the way to jail so he and Dascha can finally have each other. But there's a little twist at the end, Dascha and Herman strip the officers of their uniforms and leave them in the park while they steal their police car, run away and live as criminals on the run happily ever after.

This movie was a hoot and a holler with really naughty and dirty sex scenes. I shall explain. The above synopsis is the main storyline of the movie, but the writing was very clever. The filming and look of the movie reminded me of a 1970's cop show and the music was like that too. More hip music was used towards the end of the movie, although the whole thing had that 1970's feel to it, which complemented the movie tremendously. The casting was excellent. The man who played the governor was hysterical. This old guy who seemed very pleasant to the public, was nothing but a dirty, cussing old man who was having a raunchy affair with his secretary. The scene with the two of them getting it on was arousing and amusing. It had so much filthy talking in it that it was hilarious at one moment and nasty the next. Dascha's accent was not only sexy, but added the perfect comedy needed when she would tell others off. I believe this movie took place in the mid west and all the characters had this trailer park trash look to them. The couple that gets locked in the storage room during the store robbery were totally nasty, trailer trash looking, I couldn't help but to burst out laughing. There was a total of 6 steamy, nasty, lengthy sex scenes in it, complete with filthy 976 talk, straight sex, anal play, rimming, masturbation, dildo play, oral sex, intercourse, foot and knee humping, voyeurism and tons of delicious reverse cowgirl!

The hot sex starts within the first 5 minutes of the movie and just keeps getting better. Dave Cummings (manager of convenience store) and employee start going at in nasty and rough way. I loved it when she pulled his head right up against her ass so he would stick his tongue in it further. And she wasn't the only woman to do that in this movie. Pushing the guys' heads into their asses happened often. What dirty girls, I loved it!

When Dascha robs the store, she and Herman lock his boss and two customers, (a couple) in the storage room, but while all the shooting was going on the girl was giving the guy a blow job in the storage room while the boss watched and cheered her on. There was random craziness in this movie that was hysterical. There were some scenes that I couldn't stop laughing and touching myself at the same time.

This movie introduced me to Dascha. She is absolutely beautiful. She has a sexy accent. She's very innocent looking. She's got legs that go all the way up and she's got the prettiest pink pussy I've seen in a while. Unlike most adult stars, Dascha doesn't look really serious when she's having sex, she looks like she's having fun, which is an extremely sexy quality. Her masturbation scene is one of the highlights of the movie.

This DVD has tons of bonus features. I loved the multiple angle view during the sex scenes. What fun this is. You get a choice of 2 to 3 different angles to view the action. I had a lot of fun with this. You can watch the sex scene at one angle then go back and watch it again at another angle. I kept switching through all the angles.
