Broadway Brat

This is a classic Paul Thomas offering from 1988. It's a porn-driven Nikki Randall vehicle with lots of campy lines and wild situations. You know, where two relative strangers just discussing some mundane topics suddenly start to fuck. Here's the story. Tom Byron and Nikki Randall are a rich married couple. While Tom's out making scratch, Nikki's thinking of new ways to spend it all! Bored, she decides to enroll in an acting class she sees advertized on TV. Mike Horner is in charge of the acting class, but Broadway really has nothing to do with it. The whole thing really seems to be a cover for his true goal: seducing would-be starlets.

There are 5 sex scenes: Nikki & Byon, Bryon & Shanna McCullough, a girl-girl featuring Nikki & Aja, Mike Horner and Lori Peacock, and finally Nikki and Mike Horner. The scenes are good and are in the familiar Paul Thomas style. Although tame by today's kinkier porn standards, the women look great (natural breasts abound!) and the sex scenes are hot. Nikki steals the show whenever she is on-camera. The girl-girl scene between Nikki and Aja is delicious and the last scene between Nikki and Horner is probably the best on the disc. Of course, the movie ends with a psychological twist, so familiar to fans of Paul Thomas. This would be a good video for a couple to share, both for the sex and for a little bit of camp value.

Warning: The box cover indicates the presence of Tori Welles in this video. If she's there, I'd sure like to see her. I'm a huge Tori fan as many of you readers are. She's not credited on the actual video, and I didn't see her anywhere. Paul Thomas himself does have a cameo as the janitor.

Video Quality: This disc has been digitized from an older tape master, and analog origins are clearly visible. The picture has a video softness to it. However, chroma noise is relatively low and there is little color . This is one of the better tape-to-DVD transfers I have seen.

Audio Quality: You have your choice of Dolby Digital stereo or 5.1. Both are clear. The 5.1 is nicer and more forward. Sometimes voices have that canned, amateur video sound. However, that's half the fun of these classic titles!

Extras: Extras are above average. The flip side of the disc contains an additional 15 sex scenes, including two scenes each by Raquel Darrian, Chasey Lain, and Alexandra Silk. Some of these scenes are actually quite hot, for example Alexandra silk's poolside anal scene, which has some real intensity to it. The video and sound quality varies from scene to scene. Most of them compare well to the quality on the main feature. There are about a dozen trailers for other Wave DVD releases, also.
