My First Time

MY FIRST TIME (not to be confused with the classic Paul Thomas directed flick starring Nikki Dial and Deidre Holland, or any other title with that same name) is a quaint and overall bland little flick released under the Wicked Vintage Editions label. It's one of those movies which you would feel compelled to buy only for nostalgic value (you may have once rented this flick on VHS years ago, or you happen to be a huge fan of retired performer Tricia Devereaux), or only because you are curious to see a typical mid-nineties piece of porn fluff.

Hacked out by director Jim Enright, MY FIRST TIME features Liz Leighton ("in her first feature production") in this pseudo-movie within a movie. She is an attractive girl who looks younger on the box cover than she does in the main feature. As it turns out, all the performers get upstaged by blonde beauty Toni James, who coincidentally enough, plays a professional porn actress with years of on-camera experience. She helps break in the new girls, although lamentably, she doesn't share a scene with Liz. The plot centers around new talent making their way into blue movies, but it's all just an excuse to string five hardcore scenes together in one seventy-five minute package. (If you want to see a much better "dramatization" of porn productions, take a look at John Leslie's superior video, THE REHEARSAL.)

Scene-stealer Toni James is especially hot in her opening affair with Peter North which is "directed" by an especially hammy Kyle Stone. Though the action is nothing to write home about, the fellatio work is deep and wet, and shot in nice, screen-filling close-ups. The inevitable seed spilling is also satisfying, though a few more seconds of post-orgasmic cock sucking would have been preferable.

Miss James then has an affair with Heaven Leigh, which is merely "just okay." Again, this blonde is the most carnally charismatic girl, especially during moments when she is fucking Heaven with a dildo while licking at her ass, but the redhead's reactions are, once again, mechanical.

Liz's first scene is with Heaven Leigh, a somewhat sexy redhead who is less convincing sexually than her "first time" partner. After some kissing and stroking, Peter North joins the two in a proficient threesome where both babes get bagged and tagged. Liz does good oral work on Heaven, but seems a bit hesitant when it comes to taking a facial. Needless to say, it isn't the kind of viewing experience which will make you a devoted fan. Liz's scene with Kyle ends the movie on yet another routine note, but this time, the sex is better executed and the oral cumshot finale is likewise better directed and better captured. At the very least, Liz shows that she could have been an average contender for porn stardom, but for whatever reason, she decided to retire after no more than three titles.

In a throwaway segment which has very little to do with the main storyline, Tricia Devereaux plays a disgruntled performer who gets it on with Jonathan Morgan (who overacts shamelessly with little comedic results) on a couch. Those who have seen Mrs. John Stagliano at work in BAD WIVES, may be disappointed by the routine sucking and fucking her, though I suspect that is a result of unimaginative direction than anything else.

Still, one has to hand it Wicked for putting out their back catalog of grade B titles on specially priced DVDs with such excellent picture and audio quality (you even get a Spanish soundtrack option on this disc!). The Special Features, while generally entertaining, have very little to do with the main feature (only the Photo Gallery, which looks more like a series of off-the-video still frames, relates directly to MY FIRST TIME). All the trailers, studio notes and other promotional materials are well-assembled, but are also available on most Wicked titles.

Unless you are a true blue fan of the Toni James, or just happened to like the other girls in this movie, I can't quite recommend MY FIRST TIME even at its bargain price. There are just too many other and better Wicked titles out there which deserve your dollars and cents.
