Pornogothic

Although most people would choose a horror flick in the Halloween season, I truly believe that this is a movie for all seasons. Pornogothic is a vampire movie consisting of intrigue, agony, love lost, love found, battles of power, and life-altering decisions. When this project was first presented to me by Jonathan Morgan, I didn't hesitate in committing to it. Written by award winning screenwriter Martin Brimmer, who also wrote Crazed, Indigo Delta, and Double Feature, I fell in love with the story. Jonathan Morgan and I worked for days on building an all-star cast to play the roles. Pre-production was no easy task. Rod Hopkins, award winning art director, started right away on setting up the feel of this movie. Jonathan Morgan immediately booked his Director of Photography, Jake Jacobs. I took a trip to mainstream special effects genius SP FX where, we did castings of my facial features and teeth for the prosthetics used while I'm in vampire form. Then, I was off to music writer Fat Cat in the City, to record my voice for the music developed specially for this project. As you can tell, we exerted a lot of effort to make this a very special project. During production we worked extremely long hours in unusually cold and damp weather. Of course, this made suffering easy to emulate! Editing was a work of art achieved by SCSI Post. Overall, this is one of my favorite productions, and the result is not to be missed!

Pornogothic starts off with a cat and mouse chase. Vampires have selected their victim and are having great fun at the hunt. One vampire (yours truly!) has neither the heart to kill nor the thirst to drink . This does not go over well with the vampire queen (Shanna McCullough). Next, we are introduced to a down and out police detective (Brad Armstrong). Always getting , as well as laid by a prostitute (Stephanie Swift), he seems quite the loser. The sex scene between Stephanie and Brad is very nasty and raw, and one worth watching. A call comes in for him to investigate a mysterious homicide. The dead body is completely drained of . On his way to follow up on a possible lead we learn the source of his depression. His lovely wife had disappeared while they were at a club and was found several days later dead...and drained of . Eventually, he ends up at Club Pornogothic to investigate the most recent murder. Unbeknownst to him, the all female owners of the club (Shanna McCullough, Asia Carrera, Missy and myself) are vampires who use the club to attract their prey.

Vampire Asia has decided she is a bit thirsty and chooses her next victim: Katie Gold (who won Best Supporting Actress for this role). Katie is suffering emotionally from a fight with her boyfriend at the club and runs to the ladies room where Asia is waiting. Asia and Katie become entangled in some very erotic sex. Asia has decided not to kill Katie, but to transform her into a vampire. The vampire I am playing has been issued the task of deflecting the detective's questions. But a problem arises...Brad and I become attracted to one another. However, Brad is at the club on police business and decides to have a look around. After shooting an unarmed Katie in the club, the police chief takes Brad's badge and , throwing him into a even darker hole of dispair. Vampire Shanna has found her next victim and seduces him into having sex with her in an elevator. After having her way with him and getting his orgasm on her face, she feasts on him, and leaves him for dead.

Brad gets a page the next morning. He has been put back on the case. A very strange event has occurred. Katie's dead body has risen and tried to attack the coroner. The body is now gone. Brad heads out on the streets to look for her, but she seems to be following him instead. He heads back to the alleys near Pornogothic. There, she attacks him. But Brad is saved by a bum, played by Steve Justice, who knows that "you can't shoot a vampire, you have to stab them in the heart."

Later that night, Shanna is outside the club, selecting the best to be allowed to enter. She sends my character after a couple in the alley. Yes, I wind up having some trashy alley sex with Alex Sanders and Rebecca Lord (the voice in the selected sex music is mine), only to give in to my carnal desires in more ways then one. I kill them and drink. I have started my change to evil. Meanwhile, the Pornogothic club has become an all out orgy that includes an incredible mix of all the stars (Asia Carrera, Shanna McCullough, Missy, Stephanie Swift, Sydnee Steele, Mickey G., Ian Daniels, Steve Hatcher and others), positions and movement galore (yes, there are facials here), and is set to rock and roll music. After the many climaxes, there is a feast.

My vampire has now become lonely and visits Brad at his place. After he invites her in, they talk about their miseries and realize that they have connected. The passionate sex that follows (complete with facial!) consumes them, but raises the hunger brewing in the dark recesses of my character. She goes in for the kill, but she stops herself. Her hunger is nearly out of control, and she must leave to feed elsewhere. As my character abruptly leaves, she warns him not to ever see her again and to never go back to Pornogothic. She then finds a victim at a closed diner. The owner of the diner, played by Dave Cummings, gives her a meal of sex (yet another facial!) and . Brad, confused, heads off to Club Pornogothic to search for the truth. Once there, he is confronted by more then he can handle. He must now make a decision that will fulfill his destiny. You'll have to view the ending yourself...I don't want to give it all away!

The DVD version of this movie offers "Cast", "Chapters", "Photo Gallery", "Audio Selection", and other special features. "Cast" offers stats, audio biography, listing of other Wicked Titles the performers can be found in, and the option to skip to their scene in the movie. "Chapters" gives you the option of selecting your favorite scene. "Photo Gallery" is automated, with all pics from the production. "Audio Selection" gives you the option of hearing the director (Jonathan Morgan) and myself giving a play by play of various aspects of the movie while the visuals are playing. Other special features include: Company Profile (read fast!), Trailers (you can find the Double Feature trailer here), Wicked Web (the web address), Wicked Casino (play the casino from this DVD on a DVD-ROM computer), and the AVN Nominations and Winners (a bit of Wicked history). Overall, this is a great addition to your DVD collection (and mine) at a great Adult DVD Empire price!

A lonely human crosses paths with a lonely vampire in Jonathan Morgan's Pornogothic, a visually stunning and erotic film now available in the DVD format. Not so much a horror film as it is film noir, Pornogothic tells the story of two characters, one living, one "undead", yet both suffering.

Brad Armstrong stars as police lieutenant Blake, and when we are first introduced to him, he is on top of Stephanie Swift and giving it to her hard. We assume that Stephanie is either his wife or his girlfriend, but she turns out to be a hooker Brad has hired for the hour. In fact, Brad is suffering from the loss of his wife, whom he constantly thinks about. It becomes apparent to the viewer that the Blake character was once a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but now he is haunted by his memories.

I got the feeling when I first started watching the film that, although he was in distress, down deep Brad's character was a good guy. That idea is quickly tossed aside in an early scene where Blake does something so evil in a local bar, nothing can redeem his character. He is truly a lost soul, and although we don't know how or when it will happen, we know his fate has been sealed.

But this is the story of two lost souls, and the other is played by Serenity, whose character is a vampire named Morgan (gee Jonathan, I wonder where the character got her name?!). She is part of a foursome of vampires, the other three being played by Asia Carrera, Shanna McCullough and Missy. Asia's character, Petra, seduces Katie Gold in the bathroom of their club (which shares the same name as the title of the film) and not only has a hot lesbian encounter with her, but turns her into a vampire as well. Katie doesn't have a huge part in this film, but she's very good in the few scenes that she is in, and especially good making out with Asia!

Later in the movie, Shanna has to talk Serenity into drinking some human , which she has not been doing because she feels guilty about the lives she has taken as a vampire. But Serenity gives into her cravings and seduces a young couple, played by Alex Sanders and Rebecca Lord, in a nearby alley. The outfit that Serenity wears in this scene is alone worth the price of the DVD! The huge facial that she receives from Alex is just icing on the cake...or is that cream on the lips?!

Since most of the enjoyment of Pornogothic comes from not knowing where the characters are going next, I won't reveal too much more about the outcome of both Brad and Serenity's characters, other to say that they do get a chance to cross paths toward the end of the movie, and the results are tasty, to say the least. I don't think there is anyone in the industry who has legs as sexy as Serenity's, and Jonathan Morgan is smart enough to put his actress in costumes and situations which show off every last inch of her gorgeous features.

One of the more interesting scenes in Pornogothic is a scene between Serenity and Dave Cummings. For those of you not familiar with Mr. Cummings, he has appeared in several of the more recent Screw My Wife, Please videos and DVDs, and is old enough to be Serenity's grandfather. While I wasn't happy seeing Mr. Cummings getting a shot at the sexiest woman in porn, it did give me the faint glimmer of hope that if Serenity would do it with this guy, maybe if circumstances ever presented themselves, she might...ummm...no, you're absolutely right...I should stick to reviewing and not living out fantasies!

The vampire effects and makeup in Pornogothic are probably the best you've ever seen in an adult film and are just as good as the vampire effects on TV's Buffy The Vampire Slayer (which kind of makes me wish Sarah Michelle Gellar had made a cameo in this film. Just think of the possibilities!). The production values are high, and Morgan has a directing style that is very visually appealing. My only complaint is that the audio on this DVD is reproduced in such a way that the actor's dialogue is very hard to hear at times, especially in the Pornogothic club scenes. I found myself really having to crank up the volume on my set to hear what the actors were saying. The video, however, is extremely sharp, and the features are everything you've come to expect from a Wicked DVD. I especially liked the director's commentary, which not only features Jonathan Morgan, but Serenity too! Overall, Pornogothic is one of the top DVD releases of the year, and definitely one to add to your collection.

This is a hot, plot-driven film with plenty of good straight acting, although I think Asia Carrera doesn't hold up in this area very well. I get tired of her one expression acting at times. Aside from that small complaint on my part, I recommend it highly. It has excellent extra features including a director's commentary, something I like on my DVDs.

I thought this movie was really going to be gothic-themed porn. Well, they only kept the gothic stuff in the non-sex scenes. The first scene is Stephanie Swift and Brad Armstrong and I loved it. Serenity basically is the star of this movie, and she has three scenes, including giving a nice blowjob to the man behind a counter at a store. All the cumshots were facials, which is an added plus. "Pornogothic" was a pleasant surprise and I am glad I purchased it.
