Hardcore Training

Hardcore Training might have gotten another rousing endorsement from me had it not been for one major mistake made by Red Light District. As most followers of gonzo porn already know, Red Light has emerged as one of the best studios in all of adult film when it comes to hardcore action. This time out - no doubt in an attempt to make their product even better - Red Light has decided to add a little graphic on the side of the screen that will enable viewers to jump to their favorite part of the action. There are four listed options: Oral, Sex, Anal and Cumshot.

The problem is that most viewers will be unable to turn the graphic off if they choose to do so, and there is nothing in the disc's menu that allows you to turn it off. So it does become a bit of a distraction to the scene - much in the same way Vivid's multi-angle graphic has in the past with many an annoyed viewer. I will say that I was able to get the graphic to disappear on my DVD-ROM drive by hitting the fast forward or rewind for a few seconds... but was unable to do so on my regular player (a Panasonic DVD player) for one huge reason: I couldn't get the fast-forward or rewind to work at all! I didn't have the opportunity to test the disc on any other players, but viewers who think they may be bothered by either the graphic or the ability to fast-forward or rewind during the scene should definitely take this potential problem into consideration before picking up this DVD.

More frustrating is the fact that Red Light chose to try out this new feature on this title, which is a pretty darn good one. David Luger and his posse of porn boys head up into the Great White North of Canada for a trip to Montreal. There, they round up a number of French-Canadian babes, most of which are worthy of the title of a "Red Light Gal".

First up is Caprice, a cute blonde with straight hair who is assigned both Brandon Iron (who's also Canadian, by the way) and Brian Pumper. There's some extended solo masturbation with Caprice before the guys come in, where she fingers both her pussy and her ass. Then, Brandon and Brian arrive and she warms them up with a couple of nice blowjobs. After some doggy action from both men, spoon from Brian and missionary from Brandon, Caprice allows them to give her anal - and winds up getting double penetrated later in the scene. The action climaxes with a pair of facials, both of which she swallows down.

If you're anything like me, you probably took a look at the box cover for Hardcore Training and said "Damn! That girl looks like she's about 12!" Well, fortunately Kristina Young is 19, and unfortunately she's not nearly as appealing as the box cover leads you to believe, although she's still quite cute. Not visible on the box cover (thanks to some well-placed air brushing) are several moles that Kristina has on her chest, including a quite noticeable one on her left breast. More importantly, one of the things you can't tell about Kristina by the box cover is her less than innocent attitude, which might be appealing on some porn girls, but comes off as just annoying with Ms. Young.

Another problem with Kristina's scene is that she doesn't get any anal in it... which wouldn't be a big deal if Red Light hadn't put the graphic list on the screen that suggests that she does. Clicking the "Anal" part of your screen during this segment will do nothing. I should also point out that the same problem occurs later in the film with Katrina and Bianka Juice, who also don't participate in any anal action.

Just for the record, Kristina joins Brian Pumper and Brett Rockman for her segment. There's action in most of the standard positions, and the scene ends with facials from both guys.

My favorite scene is next, and features a thin brunette named Gabriella Moore, who is the only girl in this title that speaks English flawlessly and is extremely cute as well. She gets it on with Brandon Iron and Mr. Pete, and gets a very entertaining double penetration toward the end of her scene.

The next to last sex scene was probably the most disappointing, since it featured the most people, but the least amount of sexual fun. Two girls, redheaded Katrina and brunette Bianka Juice are introduced by Brian Pumper and then taken inside where Brian and Brett Rockman have their way with them. The problem here is that Brian teams off exclusively with Bianka, and Brett Rockman with Katrina. There is no switching off between partners and no lesbian action between the girls - although they do kiss a bit after each of them get a facial from their respective guy. Also, as noted above, there is no anal in this scene.

The movie wraps up with Jade, an attractive Asian girl, who gets plenty of anal from Mr. Pete and Brett Rockman, plus a double penetration at the end of her scene. As with the other four segments in this title, this scene ends with facials from the guys.

The bonus features are quite nice on this disc, and include two bonus scenes where director David Luger gets blowjobs from Gabriella and Kristina; a short behind the scenes featurette; a photo gallery and 20 trailers for other Red Light discs. In fact, if it were not for the problems with the graphic "jump to your favorite fetish" within the film itself, I probably would have given the features here a perfect score. The video is for the most part top-notch, but some pixilation is noticeable during scene transitions within the film. The audio quality is also above average.

Overall, it's the problems with the new DVD feature rather than the film itself that cause Hardcore Training to lose a few points in the final rating. Assuming Red Light can better master this new feature and give the viewers the option of turning it off entirely, it's a good idea... otherwise, they should consider dropping this option on future DVDs.
