All Star, Digital Playground's latest work follows the "truth in advertising" credo by boasting such heavy hitters as the luscious Rocki Roads, Sadie Sexton, and the exotic Rebecca Lord. However, comparisons to any previous adult title end here. Why? Simple, this is the first feature length adult release to be shot exclusively for the DVD format. How? Digital Playground employed a three-camera shoot in real time, and used all the footage to enable viewers to choose the desired angle in real time. That is, when you cut from a Ms. Roads anal pounding close up, the second angle is of action that is happening at the same time from a different angle. How does this differ from other multi-angle features? Most multiple angle releases use footage from the scene, but not necessarily from the same time period. The result usually disrupts the scene's continuity, and consequently viewers by the truckload slam the multi-angle feature on Internet newsgroups. But that has all changed. This is the how the multi-angle feature was meant to be used. Furthermore, the features on this disc are among the most impressive that I have seen to date, offering a full running commentary (with producers Sam and Davey, Director Joone, and the incomparable Tabitha Stevens), a genuinely funny bloopers reel, behind the scenes featurette, along with the standard cast bios and photos. With all the bells and whistles one may ask, "What about the action?" Let me reassure you - this is the total package.

Shot high in the Malibu Hills, Roads and her All Star cast take on their studs in lavish surroundings. Roads has two scorching scenes: an ass pounding of epic proportions with Alex Sanders and a moody, sensuous dicking from Vince Voyeur. Producer Davey shoots the behind the scenes featurette, and does a great job capturing the mood of the set. At times relaxed, frequently intense, but always exciting! On the lighter side, the Bloopers real is - get this - actually funny! I've seen several adult blooper reels, and this is the best one by far! I laughed my ass off as Belle and her man argue in French about a missed pop shot. Hilarious!

Well, don't take my word for it. This is one of those releases that you simply must have. No doubt about it. Hot action...great features...Digital Playground makes it look easy.

All Star is unique in the digital field, in that it is the very first adult film to be shot specifically with the DVD format in mind. The big selling point here is that each scene has a second angle, which is perfectly in synch with the first. Therefore, if you're not happy with that close up, you can pull back to a wider shot and vice versa. Not satisfied with just upping the ante of DVD presentation, Digital Playground and Ascension Films pull out all the stops by calling up the rarely seen Rocki Roads for two hot scenes, the first of which she receives on screen anal for the first time. The DVD is also loaded with other goodies, including a behind the scenes featurette, blooper reel, photo gallery and a full-length audio commentary.

Unfortunately the actual film is somewhat of a mixed bag, with three of the six scenes (including the two with Rocki) being very good and the rest of the lot average, or a little less than average. The movie gets off to a good start, despite an annoying southern twang being used by the always-entertaining Alex Sanders. I'm sure Alex was trying to get the festivities off to a humorous start, but he plays it just a little too over the top for my tastes. Fortunately, he doesn't waste too much time tracking down the busty superstar Rocki and preparing her backdoor for its first cock by sticking not one...not two...but four fingers in her soon to be gaping ass! Most adult stars who I have seen in their first anal sequences tend to be pretty tentative about how they are handled...but not Rocki, she seems more than game to let Alex go to work on her, and the result is an extremely hot sequence, that certainly lives up to the hype. Envy is present in the scene too, but she's basically just eye candy here, never getting involved in the action, at least not sexually.

After the great start, things tend to simmer down a bit with a romantic scene between Sadie Sexton and Cristian Tod. There's nothing spectacular that happens between the two, except for some old fashioned sucking and fucking. It's a pleasant scene to watch, but after the hardcore fun of the first scene, one can't help but be a little let down.

Next up is a bathroom scene with Bonita Saint and another guy, in which Bonita gets a little anal action, followed by an encounter on the tennis court between Lisa Belle and her man. Despite the fact that Bonita gets some backdoor reaming, her scene is probably the weakest one in the entire movie as far as chemistry and eroticism are concerned. The tennis court segment with Lisa is better, if only because I couldn't help but think about seeing tennis star Anna Kournikova in the position that Lisa was in, and of course, myself in the position that...oh, never mind!

Rocki reappears to add some sexual spark back in the film as she takes on Vince Vouyer in an interestingly lit room which has a large aquarium with clear portholes...perfect for propping up your lady friend and giving it to her hard! There's no more anal for Rocki in this scene, but fans of Ms. Roads should be more than satisfied with the steamy action between her and Vince.

As Mr. Marcus strolls out onto a balcony occupied by Rebecca Lord for the movie's final scene, he comments something about "saving the best for last", and he couldn't be more right! The balcony sex between Mr. Marcus and Rebecca was easily my favorite in the film, due to the fact that there is nothing hotter than seeing an attractive petite girl take a large tool eagerly inside her. The climax also marks the best cumshot of the movie, as Mr.Marcus unloads (and I do mean unloads!) all over Rebecca's face.

While I have never been a huge fan of the multiple angle feature (I've personally always believed that the space used for multiple angles could be better used for other supplemental material), the way the multi-angles are used in this movie are exactly the right way to present them. I'm not just talking about the fact that they are in synch with the alternate angle (which is great), but the fact that no one angle stays on that angle for too long, meaning that if you choose not to use the multiple angle feature while viewing the film, there is still a variety of angles to look at. For example, a close-up angle doesn't stay that way throughout the entire segment...it actually switches to the other angle, meaning if you want to stay in on the close-up shot, you need to switch angles yourself. So, in other words, if you are not into the whole multiple angle thing and just want to sit back and relax, you are still going to see a movie where the camera changes positions during the sex...it's really the best of both worlds for fans of multiple angles and those who could do without them.

The behind the scenes material on the DVD is particularly interesting due to the fact that it doesn't try to portray the stars as all cute and nice, and actually records a couple of good shouting matches, particularly one involving Bonita Saint. The bloopers are also very humorous and show that even in the world of porn, everything does not always go according to plan! The video and the audio are superb, even by Digital Playground standards, and could easily compete with any mainstream DVD in the area of picture and sound.

If you are a fan of Rocki Roads, multiple angles, or one of the other actresses, there's no doubt that you should put All Star at the top of your list when it comes to selecting your next DVD. As for the rest of you, the features alone are worth the purchase, even if the film does not always live up to the high quality packed into every other aspect of this DVD. While this reviewer might have hoped that a more action-packed and erotic film had gotten this special treatment, All Star is definitely a step in the right direction, and a guideline for all other studios as to the potential of the DVD format and what they'll need to do to satisfy fans and customers, and to keep competitive in the digital field.

After I read the reviews before renting this movie, I expected that this movie would contain no plot, but would contain extremely hot women, and lots of hardcore sex. All Star definitely delivered on my expectations! Rocki Roads was very nice, and her anal scene was spectacular. The sex was fairly mainstream excluding the anal scene I just mentioned, but the women did a great job of enjoying the hardcore action. The scenes were set up nicely, the women were extremely hot, and the performances were top-notch.

The true multi-angles were good (the best in porn today) but thats not why I got this...Rocki's first anal was great, and she seemed like she wanted it! Lets hope Rocki does more anal soon! Overall, this flick is slightly above average. All the girls are "Super Deluxe", but they don't create many sparks in their scenes. With the exception of the Rocki's first encounter, everyone seems to be going through the motions. The multi-angle feature is cool and there are a lot of nice extras that put this video above the run-of-the-mill stuff. The commentary and behind the scenes clips may soften your tool, like learning Sadie Sexton had a yeast infection while she's being eaten out or how some guy has a problem getting it up for Bonita Saint. This is one you can watch more than once for sure, it just isn't a must see.

My wife and I had the "pleasure" of viewing "All Star" last evening and were disappointed after the hype given this film.

First the good news. The multi-angle feature is clearly the best in adult media to date. It is seamless and doesn't detract from the viewing at all. Unfortunately, multi-angles are more of a novelty than an enhancement to erotic viewing. In addition, the video quality is among the best.

Now the not so good. Rocki's first anal scene was a major disappointment. First, the scene seemed more business-like than enjoyable for both Alex and Rocki. The biggest turn off was the close ups of gnats buzzing around Rocki's pussy while she was riding Alex. In most scenes the guys had trouble getting it up intitially. I know that this is typical during filming, but it should be edited out. Further, there is noticeable relooping within scenes - another common adult technique, but one that should be used carefully and sparingly. Finally, there is little variety in the scene setup. All scenes are 1-on-1 boy/girl - no group, 2/1, 1/2, or lesbo. Each scene progresses from blowjob to eating out (or vice versa), to fucking, to anal (maybe).

All in all, an average adult film. If you want to see great multi-angles, then this one is for you. If you want to see hot sex there are MANY better options.
