Catwoman, The

Jennifer (Kathleen Jentry) is professional photographer. She's also having some boyfriend problems. After her
photo session she walks home and gets this dreaded sensation of being followed. It's at this point that she bumps into Chris
(Director John Leslie) who calms her down. They go to his house and before you can say "cat nip", Jennifer begins nipping at
Chris's nads. This is quite a hot little sex scene between the two of them as evidenced by the sweat that is pouring off their bodies
by the time this scene is done. It works out that Chris is the leader of the local animal kingdom and it is he that shares the wisdom
of this flick with Jennifer. After their workout, Chris takes her to a local club that is a hangout for all those "animals". This segues
into an intense interracial scene that unfolds in the middle of the bar with everyone looking on. It makes it a little strange to see
everyone staring at the couple doing it while you stare back from the comfort of your home. The intensity of the action makes
Jennifer really get in touch with her Cat Woman self and she quickly begins to act like the local stray in heat by gyrating all over
the dance floor and bar.
The flick has several more sex scenes including one that occurs between Dana (Veronica Hall) and one of Jennifer's male
models. This scene is noteworthy because the dude shoots his load all the way out of the frame. We also get a nice three way
with Peter North, another guy and one of Jennifer's friends. This occurs in the bathroom of the bar and demonstrates a variety of
plumbing scenarios, especially when Peter gives her his pipe cleaner. The two guys each target one of the girl's breasts with their
spray. Bulls eye!
This is an interesting flick because John Leslie, not only stars and directs, he also wrote the story. Therefore, he tries to really
stay focused on the plot. In actuality, he's a damn good actor, too. He uses a bit of special effects to show the transition from
human to animal nature and also uses different kinds of music to accompany the visuals. This is particularly effective when
Jennifer first turns into a Cat Woman in the bar and the music gets into a pounding jungle groove (considering this was made 10
years ago, he anticipated today's jungle beats!). The emphasis on plot makes this Cat flick appropriate to share with your favorite
pussy.

THE CATWOMAN was one of John Leslie's most acclaimed directorial efforts. Even today, the movie retains its erotic heat, thanks to the smolderingly Kathleen Jentry. The movie received raves when it was first released, and it is still an entertaining and stimulating piece of work. Most of the actresses in the film like the late Megan Leigh, Nikki Nights and Laurel Canyon were vastly underrated performers, and their appearance on this DVD give viewers a chance to appreciate their fine work.

This movie was followed by a sequel, CURSE OF THE CATWOMAN, which stars Selena Steele and a host of other great porno stars of the past. While the sequel is superior to the original, THE CATWOMAN is worth getting for Ms. Jentry alone, who looks sexy as hell sitting cross-legged on a bar-stool, dressed up in short-shorts, while watching Alexa Parks getting it on with her partner. Again, VCA is to be commended for issuing classics like THE CATWOMAN for a new generation of viewers.

Ten years ago, John Leslie directed what still stands as one of the better adult features ever made. In the intervening decade, a lot has changed inn the industry. Today, Catwoman's video effects look incredibly dated; the big hair, frosted lipstick and tacky decor plant us firmly back in the eighties; but the acting and sex are still of a caliber that's rarely seen in contemporary porn.

Also, the care taken in producing Catwoman has served it well on translation to DVD. Most older shot-on-video tend to look fairly shitty when moved into the digital realm; DVD's high resolution shows up every flaw the original VHS couldn't translate. This vid, however, looks great.

There aren't a lot of extras on this DVD, but frankly, they aren't necessary. The main event is more than enough to sell this disc.
