Barely Legal #1

Ever since the Barely Legal series debuted two years ago, there's been numerous episodes released on an almost monthly basis. Some of them have been really good while others are simply mediocre. But even the inferior episodes are better than most young girl themed videos, largely due to the creative eye of the series' caretaker, Clive McLean. I decided to go back to the first one and see how it compares to some of the latest releases. Afterall, you can't go wrong with a star heavy cast that includes Bunny Luv, Allysin Chaynes, Dayton Rains, and Cassidey.

The first vignette features Bunny Luv playing a teenager under the constant lustful gaze of her stepfather, played by Herschel Savage. One day she decides to mess with him and invites Allysin over for some poolside fun. The two munch on each other for a few minutes before Bunny goes inside to shower...where she also relieves her bladder. Meanwhile, Herschel has been videotaping all of this and heads to his room to jerk off. Bunny catches him in the act and decides to give him the real deal. Allysin eventually joins the two for a nasty three-way. In the end, Herschel lines up their faces for a double facial. What a way to kick off the series!

Dayton Rains and Cassidey (billed here as Bobbie Adore) put on a pretty good girl-girl show in the second scene. Dayton plays an artist who places ads in the newspaper for nude models. Gail Westyles turns in one of the more enthusiastic performances as she takes on her "stepbrother." After a reaction shot of the limo driver waiting in the car, there's a shot of Gail with cum on her mouth. I have no idea how this happened, but it's still a pretty hot scene.

Immediately there's something different about the fourth scene. It appears to be shot on film and features a letter-box aspect ratio. The scene opens as Frank Thring lounges near a backyard pool while thumbing through an issue of Barely Legal...nice product placement. When his son's girlfriend (Cherry Chase) stops by, he fumbles to hide the magazine inside some newspapers. Although his son isn't around, she sticks around and skinny-dips in the pool. When Frank comes back with a towel, she starts rubbing her body against his. Reluctant at first, Frank gives in and lets young Cherry have her way with him. As predicted, Cherry's boyfriend shows up and shoves his old man out of the way. Frank seemingly disappears as this young chap pounds away on Cherry and deposits his seed on her butt crack. I liked the look and premise of the scene, but the action just wasn't as hot as it could have been.

Fortunately the disc ends with a real firecracker of a scene. Continuing the soft theme, Anastasia Blue visits her stepfather (Billy Glide) at a construction site to drop off his lunch. For some reason, she takes a piss right in front of him. Instead of souring his appetite, Billy is really turned on and starts lapping away on her wet pussy...that's one alternative to toilet paper. In a trend that would follow in later installments, Hustler gave Barely Legal a decent DVD treatment. The video quality is definitely above average, but exhibits occasional graininess which keeps it from achieving a perfect score. The audio is also pretty good and mixed well. But as was the case in some of the other earlier releases, the "Dear Barely Legal" voiceovers (heard at the beginning of each vignette) sound like they were recorded in a bathroom with a portable tape recorder. In addition to the usual extras, there's a small "Clive McLean Profile" featurette. It only runs a few minutes but features some nice behind the scenes footage from other shoots.

Even as the series approaches its 20th episode, the first one still stands as one of the best. The condensed star power alone is worth a look, but the expected attention to detail and quality make it a keeper. If you're looking for a title with hot young girls, great camera work, and don't mind all the piss, Barely Legal #1 is an excellent choice.

This first volume of Hustler's extremely popular series gets off to a good start as we see Hershel Savage (that ol' dog!) filming his stepdaughter (Bunny Luv) with his video camera. At first, she is fully clothed, but later he catches her fully naked by the pool, and then really gets some quality footage as her friend, Allysin Chaynes comes over for a little lesbian action. One of the hot visuals captured in this segment is watching each of the girls get sprayed down with a water hose at the same time they are being licked out by the other girl.

Bunny catches Hershel in his room watching a tape of what he has filmed. Bunny basically tells him to forget about the tape and tells Hershel to do her right there on the bed. At first, Hershel is a little reluctant, but it doesn't take too many seconds of Bunny rubbing her naked body up against him for Mr. Savage to give in. After some one-on-one action, Allysin shows up to start a hot threesome.

And that's just the opening act of Barely Legal #1! Each segment involves one or more young girls, and usually has a running theme of (at least of the stepfather or stepbrother kind) and more than a few of the scenes include "peeing" by the girls (most likely just water), which I guess turns some guys on, but it sure doesn't do anything for this reviewer.

The best scene in the movie is one with Gail Westyles, a hot little blonde number who actually looks like she might be "barely legal". She's coming home from boarding school, all decked out in her little schoolgirl uniform...so already this is one fantasy sequence that I am enjoying! She teases herself a little in the back of the limo and mentions how she really needs to have sex, and how she might even try it with her stepbrother when she gets home. Well, as luck would have it, the stepbrother is actually hiding in the front seat...but it doesn't take him long to get into the back! The limo eventually pulls off the road so these two can go at it outside, and the stepbrother eventually cums on her body. The next shot shows some cum dripping from her mouth, but I doubt if this was the "real stuff", because it seems he shot pretty much everything he had on her body already. Regardless, it is one hot scene, and worthy of repeat viewings.

The audio is nicely done on the DVD, with just the proper tone sent so you can hear both the dialogue and the sexual action and soundtrack. The video is extremely well-done, almost perfect, and most DVD collectors should be pleased with the quality. There are not a lot of bonus features on the disc, but one that I did enjoy was a behind the scenes interview with director Clive McLean. After we see Clive abuse a pelican, (quick, somebody call the S.P.C.A.!) we see him on a photo shoot with an extremely hot young blonde who bears more than a passing resemblance to my favorite mainstream girl, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Unfortunately, the girl doesn't show up in the DVD, but I think she may be in one of the future volumes...in fact, she might be one of the blondes in Barely Legal #3, so I need to rush out and see that DVD right away!

As for Barely Legal #1, this is one of the better all-sex DVDs released in the past year, and not only provides porn fans with the type of girls they like to see in their movies, but puts them in the kinds of action they like to see as well. It's definitely worth a spot on your DVD shelf!

Larry Flint sure does know what guys want. So on Hustler Video's first DVD release we find tales that stimulate the mind as well as the cock. Each of the five scenes contains a scenario that any guy would die to be part of. It's as much of a mind fuck as it is a sexual encounter. It also helps that every girl in this video was incredibly gorgeous. Every single one! As each vignette begins, the young sluts recount their story. We are told key information that lends to the façade of naughtiness. By knowing the girls' motivation, the viewer is sucked further into their world. It lends to the fantasy beautifully.

Take schoolgirl phenomenon Allysin Chains. Her story is one of voyeurism at its finest. Toying with a perverted step dad (Hershel Savage), Chains teases him flaunting her flawless body by wearing next to nothing. All five vignettes were equally compelling. There were several themes that ran throughout. One was having three of the girls pee on film. Strangely erotic, this is a rather new fetish to adult video. The other was a family tie. From Chains' step dad to Westyles' stepbrother, the partners were all familiar with each other. The last two scenes contained more family fun as Anastasia also bangs her buff step dad, and her boyfriends' dad bones Cherry Chase.

Technically, this video was handled superbly. Pristine video was enhanced by professional lighting, editing, and shot selection. Dialogue was a little low when compared with the soundtrack making it a bit difficult to hear the storylines?which is essential for understanding the total fantasy. Overall, this is one hot video! A must have for all amateur enthusiasts!

When I first purchased "Barely Legal", I didn't want my girlfriend (who's 28) or my teenage daughter (when she visits me) to see it. The title made me feel like a pervert.

I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The girls in the movie were open and accepting of their sexuality and they were very aware of the power they had over horny middle-aged men. And Hershel Savage shows off his fine acting ability as a bumbling sex-crazed stepdad who's easily led around by his dick. I still won't share this movie with my girlfriend. But I'm less inhibited about buying "Barely Legal #2" and "#3".

Hustler's most politically incorrect magazine makes for an excellent video and an equally excellent DVD. The disc has some problems with resolution when the picture is bright, and with contrast pixelation when it isn't, but these are mild. Overall, this is a very good transfer.
