Barely Legal #3

Fans of the Barely Legal series from Hustler will get more than their money's worth in Barely Legal #3, another great edition to this popular series. Once again, the girls in this DVD are very young, and they don't disappoint when it comes to delivering some hot and raunchy action.

The disc opens with cute little Vivi Anne coming home all decked out in a little schoolgirl's uniform, complete with a plaid skirt and knee-high socks. Her horny neighbor, played by J.J. Michaels is leering in the window at her, and after she teases him a bit with some masturbation, he comes in to join the fun. After a number of positions are tried, J. J. explodes onto her face in a very nice facial.

Next up, we find Ariel meeting up with an artist (the kind that welds metal into art...not one of those sissy painter-types!) in her father's gallery. Ariel is very cute, and the nice thing about this scene is that the guy (an actor named Shiloh) gets to cum three times during the scene, the hottest of which is the first?which is clearly an internal cumshot. I've read where these two are (or at least were) a real-life couple, so this may explain why Ariel was willing to let Shiloh cum in her pussy. It makes for a very hot session between the two, and leaves this reviewer with the wish that more real-life couples would do porn, just so we could see more of this kind of action in our films.

The third scene is perhaps my favorite, as we see the blonde-haired Jessiree give up on her boyfriend and go speeding down the road looking for sex. It doesn't take her long to find it, as she gets pulled over by a cop and immediately pulls out his cock and goes down on it. The cop (hey, sometimes it is good to be a cop!) doesn't argue and just lets her suck away. Eventually, he has her up on the hood and is working her pussy over before sliding into her ass for some solid anal action. The scene ends with a nice cumshot that shoots over most of her body.

If there is a weak scene in the movie, it is the next to last one that features an ex-reform school student picking up a biker and taking him back to her place for some action. Jodi Roxx plays the girl here, and a guy named Lex is the biker. There is nothing terribly wrong with the content of the scene, except for the fact that it seems a little average compared with the rest of the action going on in Barely Legal #3. However, the scene does end with one of the better facials in the movie, so it's worth watching for the climax alone.

In the final scene, porn stud Mark Davis plays himself as two girls hit on him outside a restaurant. Mark lures the girls back to his place by telling him he has some porn they can watch together (gee, this never seems to work for me!). Once back at his place, he takes on both girls, played by Mariah and Melody Love. I'm not crazy about Mariah, but Melody's tight and petite body was more than enough to make me enjoy this scene. Mariah gets some anal from Mark and the segment (and disc) climaxes with a facial to both girls as they simultaneously kiss each other! My only complaint about this final scene is that the voice over (which I believe is read by Mariah as opposed to Melody) is so poorly delivered it gets to be annoying...the viewer can clearly tell that the girl is reading off a script...and perhaps reading it for the first time since she doesn't seem to know which words to emphasize.

Overall, Barely Legal #3 is a great entry in the series, and one that all fans will want to be sure to pick up. The video is pristine and the audio is also nicely done. The bonus features include a Barely Legal trailer, slide show and a profile of director Clive McLean, but the trailer and profile are the same ones that appear on all the other Barely Legal DVDs, so they are only worth catching if you don't have any of the other discs in the series.

There are several elements that set the Barely Legal series apart from its countless competitors. For one, McLean consistently finds the most beautiful girls in the 18-year-old age group. It seems that with each consecutive release, the girls get more and more beautiful. How's he do that? Maybe working for Larry Flynt has something to do with it. Another thing that works in McLean's favor is the tried and proven formula. Instead of trying to construct a lame story, the scenes are broken up into vignettes that play out like a letter to the magazine, complete with voice overs. Finally, Clive McLean really knows how to shoot this stuff. His preparation for each scene is evident from the great lighting and creative camera work. He's probably not the easiest guy to work for, but the quality and hard work shine through and is ultimately passed on to the consumer.

In one of the best scenes, Ariel (on the cover) plays a girl who is working for her father's art gallery. She arrives at an artist's studio to pick up some work. What? You can already see where this is going? Well, at least the speed at which she succumbs to the artist's advances aren't quite as predictable. Within a minute, Mr. Spears is already lifting her dress and checking out her body...and I really can't blame him. With the exception of a rather large dragon tattoo on her right thigh, Ariel has a magnificent lean body. Why do girls blemish their beautiful bodies with tattoos? Anyway, McLean spends some time with this segment as the artist and camera explore every inch of her young body. While many directors would start the action immediately, I appreciate the restraint McLean uses in this scene. After Mr. Spears sucks on her pert little breasts for a while, Ariel returns the favor and drops to her knees for a somewhat timid yet well paced blowjob scene. Next, the artist orally preps Ariel's pussy before moving on to some doggy style action. There's a nice and slow insertion shot here, but it's somewhat obscured by shadows...not exactly something I'd expect from a pretentious photographer. After a few moments of slowly fucking her, the artist lets out an audible gasp. Did he come inside her? I'm not sure, but that's what we're supposed to believe when he pulls out and bunch of white goo falls out of her twat. Internal cumshots aren't very common so I'm not totally sold on the authenticity of this one, but it does look good. To my surprise, the show doesn't end here. The artist blows a couple of more loads (no facials) before the scene is eventually over. The multiple cumshots provide a nice touch, but overall it's the pacing and the naturally beautiful Ariel that make this scene such a pleasure to watch.

In another notable scene, Jody hangs outside a coffee shop waiting for a biker that she's been stalking. She eventually gets his attention and they head off to her father's house for an impromptu fuck. Jody turns this very mediocre setup into one of the hottest scenes on the disc. In my opinion she gives the best blowjob I've seen in the whole series. Most of the girls (like Ariel) are quite timid and do more licking than sucking. But Jody wastes no time and starts sucking this guy like a pro. As her dress is removed, we also discover that Jody has a fantastic looking body. Proportionately, this blonde hottie has one the best bodies I've seen in the series. In addition, her breasts are perfect size (a good handful) and all natural. As if that wasn't enough, her sexual energy is unsurpassed by anyone else on this disc. When she mounts this guy in a cowgirl position, she rams herself down on his cock with such speed that he pleads with her to slow down. I guess they weren't planning another internal cumshot for this one. Unfortunately, the scene ends with a less than stellar facial, as Jody battens down the hatches in preparation for an imminent cum downpour. Despite her efforts, she still manages to get some in her eye.

Even though I just mentioned a couple of my favorite scenes, all of the scenes are great. Each vignette is unique and captured with immense attention to quality. But there were a few things I wished had been fixed in this release. Like the prior installments, the voiceovers that introduce each scene don't sound very professional. Not only are the deliveries somewhat , but the actual recording quality is inconsistent with the overall high visual quality of the production. Other than that, the sound is pretty good, but the music gets a little old after a while. I even remembered one of the tracks from Barely Legal #2. Perhaps some more variety would work next time around. The video transfer quality is quite good, but some artifacting is visible in some of the underexposed setups. In the future, Hustler Video really needs to work on some new extras. The "Clive McLean Profile" is getting old. It would be nice to have a behind the scenes featurette for the specific title...or maybe even a director commentary...please, just anything new. For those who care or are keeping track, there are two urination scenes on this disc...a bizarre theme/fetish that runs through the series.

If you've forgotten your youth and why young girls are so wonderful, Barely Legal -- the series -- reminds us. The girls are fresh and honest. The first person narrative sets the scene -- and describes the action -- wonderfully. The girls enjoy experiencing and discovering sex. Director Clive McClean does a great job.
