Scottish Loveknot, The

One of the better Private releases. The ladies are great looking, the men are good looking and the sex is amazing! One of my all-time favorites and go too's.

Private both introduces new director Gazzman and shoots their first ever adult film in Scotland with The Scottish Loveknot. The film turns out to be visually spectacular and fun to watch, although it doesn't quite reach the level of entertainment one would find in a movie directed by Antonio Adamo or Kovi - but it's a solid start for a first-time director.

The Scottish Loveknot stars Jodie Moore and Bailey as lovers in medieval Scotland who have a curse placed on them by the Fates. He is lured into a battle against an army which he cannot defeat, and dies as a result of the action. Jodie Moore's character (who is called "The Lady of the Loch") swears that she will not leave the area of her lover's death until he is brought back to her, but the curse placed by the Fates will require him to pass a test before his reincarnated self can return to Jodie.

If all this sounds a little confusing, it actually is. The biggest problem I had with watching The Scottish Loveknot was following its plot - which seems to be in place more to set up the movie's sex scenes than to follow any string of logic. Fortunately, the sex itself is pretty good, so what the movie lacks in storyline is more than made up for in passionate action.

The movie opens with a scene between Bailey and Jodie that takes place prior to his death on the battlefield. The movie then jumps forward to modern times, where three men (one of them played by Bailey) find themselves drawn to a Scottish house where they each, in turn, but face the test that the Fates have prepared for them.

The first guy, whose character's name is "John" (the actors and actresses were identified in the credits, but the characters that they played were not) must face a test where he is to pick one of three women and given the warning that only one of the three is actually human and if he selects the wrong one he will die. Of the three women he gets to pick from, one is dressed in purple, one in green and one in white. I personally would have taken the one in white (assuming that she would be the "purest"), but John goes for the one in purple, and apparently passes the test since he isn't killed at the end of the scene.

Next up is "Chris", who is faced with the challenge of not cumming before sunset while two beautiful women suck on his cock and then start to make out in front of him. Fortunately, most of the scene is lesbian action only, which I'm guessing made it a lot easier for Chris to hold in his load! Like John before him, Chris also passes the test, and we move on to Rob, who of course, is Jodie's lover reincarnated.

Rob (whom, as noted, is played by Bailey) gets his memory back once Jodie has kissed him, but in order to pass his test, he must make love to a mute blonde and make her scream. The good news is that the blonde in question doesn't seem to be mute at all, and is moaning and groaning away from the start of the action, which takes place in a barn.

The movie ends with some orgy action in the room of the house where the three guys have been meeting, starting with a lesbian threesome between three of the girls from previous scenes and continuing with the guys getting into the action, while Jodie Moore is to watch. In the end, both Chris and John seemed doomed to spend eternity with the other girls ravishing their bodies (although why exactly this is a "bad thing" I really don't know!), while Bailey ("Rob) and Jodie once again get screwed over (and not in the sexual way!) by the Fates and actually end the film separated once again!

So while the story needed a little more work (or at the very least a happy ending), the visual aspect of The Scottish Loveknot is well-done and the real reason why you'll want to add this DVD to your collection. Additionally the movie is presented in anamorphic widescreen with 5.1 Dolby sound, meaning those with widescreen TVs and a good sound system are really going to get their money's worth with this disc.

The extras are a little on the sparse side, with a director's commentary (which includes Gazzman and actor Tony DiSergio) track, five trailers and a multi-angle option for the final scene of the film which allows viewers to see the actual cameras filming the sex. Viewers should note that a (seemingly) non-removable icon appears in the upper right corner of the scene during this last part of the film to indicate that the multi-angle is available.

Also noteworthy is the fact that all of the actors here speak English, which means that - unlike most other Private releases - none of the dialogue here is dubbed. So you won't need to worry about the poor voice-overs that often occupy many of Private's releases.

There are no behind the scenes materials, cast bios or production notes on this disc (those wishing to wait can pick up the special edition, which comes with 2 DVDs and will be available in late July). Even without behind the scenes material, the disc is still far from bare bones, thanks the multi-angle feature and the commentary track.

While the script could have been better, the movie takes full advantage of the lush Scottish countryside, and when you add the beautiful locations to the beautiful women you'll see in this film, that alone should be enough reason to pick up this title.

jodie moore sex performance and natural looks are amazing in this movie. modern movies should be more like this, with cosplays and historic stories

After seeing so many run-of-the-mill movies in the past year, it was refreshing to find The Scottish Loveknot. The locations in Scotland were a first for me and the castle and the great hall added a romantic feel to the whole film. Gazzman has tried hard to light the scenes, while not destroying the lovely Scottish light. The acting by all the stars is above what I've come to expect in adult films. It is nice to see a little more thought going into a film instead of the usual formula that we seem to get these days. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I definitely want to live in Scotland after watching this wankfest! Hardcore action combining with gorgeous camerawork made me avoid the fast-forward button totally, especially with such a bevy of beauties.

With more sword and sorcery than Braveheart, it was nice to see a film where all the girls don't stare and pout at the camera all the time.

A lot of effort obviously went in to this and I can't wait to see what Gazzman comes up with next.

Very good movie. The sex is very arousing, but not raw. The music, moaning and narrative are nicely combined to make this movie good. I couldn't understand the story, though...but who cares?!
