Fluff and Fold

At first glance, Fluff And Fold seems like another lighthearted comedy from the folks at Wicked Pictures. And it certainly is that. But it's also one of the smartest written adult features of the year, and perhaps the best starring vehicle Wicked Girl Jessica Drake has gotten to date.

Written by Brad Armstrong (who is also the male lead), Fluff And Fold tells the story of Christine (Jessica Drake) who breaks up with her boyfriend and finds herself falling for Scott (Brad Armstrong), a guy she sees once per week at the local laundry mat.

What I really enjoyed about the movie is that we get inside the head of both characters as they think about one another. As a male, I know that some of Brad's internal dialogue is exactly the stuff men think about women that they find attractive; and I have a feeling that female viewers will just as easily relate to Jessica's character.

For example, Brad's first fantasy about Jessica once he finds out that she has broken up with her boyfriend (played by Chris Cannon) is that she might be tempted to try lesbianism. So Brad fantasizes about Jessica making out with DoLorian in the laundry mat - with plenty of soaps and suds to enhance the girl-girl love.

Even in the world of porn, these type of "boy meets girl" features typically have the female character as more of an "old-fashioned" kind of gal, so I was quite amused to see Jessica initiate phone sex during her very first call from Brad. If only we all could find a woman so sexually open-minded!

Jessica and Brad's characters aren't the only fun going on in Fluff And Fold. Randy Spears gives one of his most creative performances playing the (Hispanic?) owner of the laundry mat, who is very strict about the way he runs his business. As eccentric as his character is, even Randy finds love in this movie when he develops a crush on a socialite (Lezley Zen) who has been kicked to the curb by her husband and now must use the laundry mat to wash her clothes.

Although most of Fluff And Fold's sex scenes are fun more than they are kinky, the raunchiest scene goes to Aria and Evan Stone, who team up for some wild action that begins with Aria going solo atop a dildo that she has stuck on top of one of the washing machines. Later, Aria rams the dildo up her ass as Evan pounds her missionary style, and the scene ends with a nice facial pop-shot while Aria rubs herself off and squirts onto the laundry mat's floor.

Perhaps realizing that this is one of their best features of the year, Wicked has gone all-out with the bonus material on this DVD release - which includes a running commentary track from Jessica and Brad; a 30-minute behind the scenes featurette; bloopers; a look at the box cover shoot; a bonus pop-shot not seen in the movie (Brad giving Jessica a facial); slide shows; trailers; and even three hidden Easter Eggs for viewers to uncover.

It may be a little premature, but don't be shocked if you hear Jessica Drake's name for Best Actress, Randy Spears for Best Supporting Actor and the movie itself for Best Sex Comedy when the major award nominations are announced later this year. Fluff And Fold is more than a great movie for couples - it's a entertaining feature for any porn fan out there.

My girlfriend liked this one so much, she lent it to a friend. Brad Armstrong takes you inside the heads of the lead characters in a story with an actual plot. The sex scenes are well-shot and the action is both arousing and entertaining.

A great movie for couples, but not just a "couples" movie.

Let's just say my wife liked this one a lot. It involved a great plot dealing with a couple that meets in the laundromat. Randy Spears is dead-on hilarious, and the scenes are quite steamy.
