Fugitive 2, The

Like its mainstream blockbuster counterparts (such as SUPERMAN II, INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM, and GODFATHER III), Pierre Woodman's recently released THE FUGITIVE 2 is a sequel which does not match up to the standards of the original, but can still stand on its own as an excellent film in its genre. As in part one, Director Woodman uses some of the most stunning women I've ever seen in porn (only Vivid Video and Andrew Blake can claim to using more spectacularly gorgeous women on film) engaged in highly-energetic, uninhibited sex scenes which can only be described as breath-taking. If it weren't for the fact that THE FUGITIVE 2 is to live up to the title expectations of the first movie, it would merit a top rating.

One must credit Mr. Woodman for taking this sequel in a different direction than the original, yet continuing with the initial story-line (which simply involves a jealous husband chasing down his wife and her boyfriend all over Australia). Rather than conveniently rehashing locations using a different combination of actors for the hardcore scenes, the director takes the action into new locales using some additional cast members. In particular, you will be impressed with the outdoor sex scenes filmed on the picturesque Australian swamp lands and desert fields (which puts the murky cinematography of CROCODILE DUNDEE to shame). In particular, the climactic scene of the movie features Gabriella Blond engaged in an amazing threesome with two Euro studs in an open field. Performing dual blowjobs, reverse cowgirl anal sex, and double penetration, this menage a trois generated as much heat as the afternoon deserts of the Land Down Under. Unfortunately, the crystal clear cinematography and the high resolution of the DVD transfer also show how some of the outdoor creatures can be attracted to the same part of a woman's body that men are always after. Certainly, flies buzzing about and around the female genitalia is more of an act of nature than an artistic vision on the part of the director, but I wish someone on the production crew sprayed the area for insects before shooting. Otherwise, you will be left exhausted by Gabriella's fantastic oral skills which ends in a dual cum facial.

With so many fantastic sex scenes in this film, it is difficult to pick a favorite. However, I was thoroughly spent by the time I got through the very first scene. Raven-haired beauties Kristina and Nora perform on a theater stage with a guy who gets his way with them in every position imaginable. Of course, the scene ends with the typical European trademark of the girls smiling directly at the camera after taking on a full facial. Although the remaining scenes are fairly straightforward guy-girl encounters, the viewer is always treated to sensuous blowjobs, enthusiastic anal, and oral cumshots galore. The fact that almost all the women including Nikki Anderson, Suzanna and Clarisse are spectacularly gorgeous is just extra icing on the cake. When seen in conjunction with THE FUGITIVE part one, there is no doubt that this movie will be viewed as an all-time favorite among porn fans.

The only notable complaint I have with this disc is that for some reason beyond my modest technical acumen, the video image on this DVD is not as razor sharp as the original. In particular, the slow-motion and speed-search modes seem to display more blurring and smearing than in the first movie. This does not really detract from the viewing experience (after all, I was still able to notice the flies around certain body parts in certain outdoor scenes), but it is a half-step down from what was presented in the prequel. Sound quality is fine, even though dubbing is apparent in all scenes. For those taking Berlitz classes in Easter European languages, the alternate audio track feature is your chance to hear the sound of orgasms in a whole different tongue (literally).

On an ergonomic level, Private Video has seen fit to use a whole different DVD menu system in which to access scenes, view trailers, run the slide show and so forth. Again, little touches like those show that a lot of work and creativity was introduced into making this a whole new DVD experience. As in the original, extras include a very well-made trailer, a "behind the scenes" mini- documentary, profiles on the actresses including bibliography, and a photo gallery. Clearly, Private Video is the Criterion Collection of erotica to which all DVD video companies should aspire.

THE FUGITIVE 2 is an outstanding film on its own merit, and a worthy sequel to the original. I urge the purchase of both for anyone who want the best porn has to offer.

This excellent video is exactly what you'd expect of Private's DVD division: Beautiful women in exotic locations having really nasty (and sadly, dubbed) sex, all delivered on a superb DVD with lots of extras. The disc looks great with a strong, crisp transfer, solid color definition and very little pixelation or moire.

The disc includes a behind-the-scenes featurette that plays like an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Slutty.
