Limbo Lower Now...How Low Can You Go?!

By Spooky
Michael Raven heads toward the dark side again in Limbo, a title that is visually stunning, always fun to watch, but ultimately confusing for the average porn watcher (in other words, my limited mind could not grasp what Raven was trying to say in this title).

Limbo stars Ava Vincent as a woman who is having strange dreams and visions. We open the movie inside one of her dreams, as she sits in a chair watching Evan Stone and real-life girlfriend Jessica Drake go at it inside a cage. While the surroundings are a bit bizarre, Evan and Jessica provide the first of many great sexual encounters in the movie, and their scene ends with a great facial. After the sex is over, Ava notices a strange hooded figure (could it be Tom Cruise from Eyes Wide Shut? Umm...probably not!) and a piece of paper with the word "Murder" sprawled across it...which quickly ignites in a blaze of flame.

Ava wakes up from her dream and we see her lying next to her husband, played by Randy Spears. We'll find out more about Randy's character later in the film, but first it's off to Ava's workplace, where she seems more than displeased by her boss and her work duties (hey, I'm with you baby...oops...did I write that? I love my job!). When she is ordered into her boss' office (played by Herschel Savage), she tells him how sick of him she is and how she is going to fuck his brains out right there on his desk. Sometimes it's good to be in charge! The sex scene between the two is really hot, especially since it is Ava that is the one that is being aggressive. We are treated to another hot facial here...so while the storyline is hard to follow, Raven is sure delivering some great sex for the viewers in Limbo.

It's at this point in the film that we start to find out more about Randy's character, who it turns out is having an affair with another woman...and plans to kill his wife! Why anyone would want to cheat on Ava, let alone have her killed, is beyond me...especially since she is obviously the best looking gal in this movie!

During the second half of Limbo, things really start to get more bizarre. We find out that Ava has miscarried a baby (Is this the reason Randy wants her dead? We're never quite sure.) and we supposedly see her death scene, where she is tied up and her bed is set on fire. Limbo is so non-linear in its presentation, the viewer is never quite sure where things fit in on the timeline, and if everything is a flashback by Ava, or if some of the stuff is happening as we watch it.

We do find out that Dale DaBone is the mysterious person behind the mask who we first saw at the beginning of the movie, but there seems to be some question as to if he was a lover of Ava's that Randy had killed, or someone else entirely. I questioned if he was even a human at all, or someone that was helping guide Ava through the afterlife.

The closing sex scene is a great one, as Ava is dressed as a cheerleader in a locker room and takes on Dale. She opens the scene by saying this will be their "last time", so make sure she gets "everything"! Dale, the gentleman that he is, is only happy to comply, making sure he not only stuffs his cock in Ava's pussy, but her ass as well. To top it all off, we get yet another great facial, my personal favorite in the film...there's just something about girls in cheerleader outfits!

The features on this disc are fairly average, offering the same things that Sin City has offered on other titles. However, one bright spot is that Sin City has finally changed the previews (they had been offering the same ones on all previous DVDs), and we get six previews of Michael Raven associated titles, five of which he actually directed. It helps give viewers a good idea of some of the other great work Raven has helmed.

One downside to this disc is the shot on film transfer to DVD...it's not very good, and in some scenes (particularly during a three-way with Evan Stone and two gold-painted girls) you can see a noticeable line running down the left of the screen...similar to the wax lines you see on films in the theaters that are a result of splicing the film together.
