Read My Lips

All right, everyone sit back, relax and take a moment to read my lips...or at least my words: this is not a DVD that stars Nikita Denise, nor does it have anything to do with a radio talk show! Why do I mention this? Because any reasonable person who would look at the box cover would immediately come to that conclusion, as the box features Nikita sitting at a desk which features a mike and some headphones. While Nikita does appear in the first scene of this title, it is really a movie that stars Gwen Summers as an advice-giving woman (at in-home get-togethers, not on the radio) who tells other women how to spice up their sex life. So one of the first questions that has to be asked it why Nikita instead of Gwen is featured on the box cover. I find it hard to believe that Nikita is a more popular star than Ms. Summers, but then again, after watching Read My Lips, it's probably a good thing for Gwen that she isn't on the cover...this is not a very good porno.

The movie opens with Gwen at one of her in-house presentations (a sex toy party?) where she is telling the women (of whom only Tara is recognizable) how to spice up their sex lives. She tells the story of one of her students, Nikita Denise, who has the opening scene with a guy named Backey J. Neither this opening scene nor any of the other sex scenes in Read My Lips are very exciting, partially because they are run-of-the-mill types of segments, but also because the video is poor and the colors in all of the scenes seems over-saturated.

Next up is Miko Lee, who surprises her hubby (played by Kyle Stone) with a sexy outfit and the willingness to act like the girls in the magazines and videos that Miko has found under her and Kyle's bed (never hide it under the bed, Kyle...that's the first place they look!).

The third scene takes place between Ryan Conner, and an actor who was credited as "Chris Conner", although he looked a little like actor Chris Cannon. I thought that maybe the box cover and movie had misspelled his name, but then I noticed that he and Ryan have the same last name and wondered if this might be Ryan's real life husband. Regardless of which actor this really is, it's another lame scene...surprising, if indeed these two are actually husband and wife.

Gwen, as she does in almost all of her movies, adds excitement with her only scene in the film, a coupling with the increasingly popular Evan Stone which saves this title from becoming a complete waste of time. Seeing the pumped-up Evan take on Gwen's somewhat petite body was a real treat to witness, although the climax shot is when Evan unloads on her neck...next time, aim a little higher!

Finally, the session wraps up, and Gwen leaves Tara with a little advice and some lingerie to wear for her husband, who is played by Michael J. Cox. Their scene finishes up the movie, and is somewhat of a letdown after watching Gwen in action, but compared to the rest of the film, isn't all that bad of a segment.

A mediocre film combined with poor video and audio that isn't much better makes Read My Lips a below-average DVD. There is a behind the scenes segment on the disc, which some fans may find interesting (and which inexplicitly has Randy Spears in it...what was he doing on the set?), but is still not enough to recommend this title for purchase. True Gwen fans looking for a new release would do much better with Ambition, or better yet (assuming it doesn't already hold a special place on your DVD shelf) the double disc set Nothing To Hide 3 & 4.
