In spite of baffling plot, a choice selection for feature fans.

By Anton Deztini
Harry is guy trying to lead an honest life. Problem is... he owes the local mob for a loan used to get him started on a lawful path. What's even worse, Harry used to work for these guys, so he certainly knows what they are capable of, but he never seems to have the cash payments. Things appear to be flowing like every Bad Lieutenant-type storyline; antihero character is likeable (we almost feel sorry for him), but very unwise, thereby getting whacked when least expected- though it should have always been expected. Yet, this plot is shrouded with a hazy veil of intentional uncertainty. In the end we must figure out if Harry is a restless spirit to see an unbearable future unfolding before him - dead all along, or does he merely have a brief between-life-and-death vision of "what" could happen when he's gone?

Operating a biker bar, Harry (Evan Stone) is doing so-so as a new member of legitimate society. Business could obviously be better, but the profits he does indeed rake in... well, they go right into the hands of his gorgeous girlfriend Claudia (Raylene). Harry's subtle body language alone eludes to a paranoid knowledge that this isn't the wisest of choices, but then again, once he arrives home and finds Claudia perched on the couch wearing a leopard-print cowboy hat, and very little else - how could any man resist! The former Vivid Girl doesn't speak with anything but her amazing sexuality. She treats her man to a very smooth and erotic fuck that is yet another example of typical Raylene heat. A highly arousing blowjob leads to multi-positional screwing - with exceptional focus on her full and delicious ass.

Within moments of their finale, two thugs show up to deliver an unmistakable message of inevitable doom. Worried, but not excessively concerned, Harry goes back to the bar in preparation of tonight's work. Once there, Harry sees the familiar face of the cleanup guy Phil (Pat Myne). Phil's a little slow, but definitely loyal and troubled for his boss's well-being. But alas, as Harry exits to the street, he is struck by a vehicle, and it looks suspicious.

The next scene is where things truly become obscure. Harry enters the bar, the place is filled with bikers, and there's a "new" manager named Lucy. Heather Lyn gives a good acting performance as the methodical proprietor, as she explains to Harry the current formula for success (e.g., scantily-clad bartenders and horny clientele). But Harry is confused about the current state of affairs. So too am I... is this a ghostly Harry? If so, then why does everyone recognize him and address him as though nothing's happened? Regardless, sex is the best way to divert Harry's attention to the situation, and to divert two building inspectors from closing the doors. Dale DaBone and Eric Masterson portray the obnoxious duo that find themselves taking a sexual bribe from Lucy in the back room. This scene is fairly hot and heavy; Lucy taking turns blowing and fucking the guys while Harry observes from the background.

The backroom activities are not the only naughty treats though. Dasha and Nikita jump up on the bar and do their own rendition of a Coyote Ugly attraction. The significant difference is that these two lovely ladies strip down and pull out suction-based dildos for further effect. Now comes the darker twist of the film, and so that theme shall endure till the bitter end.

Harry's perplexity is somewhat brought to a halt when Lucy begins her devilish mental torture. She interrogates him about how his life once was, how his girlfriend was and/or will be a hooker, and how exactly the bar has become a Hot Spot. He is angered and saddened, yet he continues to allow Lucy's speech to burn upsetting imagery in his brain. Is this karma? Is her purpose to give him a chance to change? Or perhaps it's just a taste of a hell to come.

Finally Harry storms away from the , moving from room to room, lost and delusional. He sees Phil ass fucking a couple of babes in a storage room, and more of the barroom action, before the truly haunting imagery materializes. Lucy isn't finished with Harry. There is one more nightmare he must endure, and it involves his love Claudia of course.

Its about the Hot Spot. This bar has become one, but it also employs one. Yes, beautiful Claudia is the main attraction, and Lucy makes no bones about it when explaining to Harry. Breaking through the rambunctious crowd, Harry comes to find Claudia willingly submit her incredible body to two ravenous cocksmen. She takes it doggy while sucking a cock, then invites the men to blast their loads upon her perfect ass. Adding insult to injury... she speaks but one word, "Next!". Shocked and dismayed, Harry runs from the terrible sight, out the doors and into the street. Again, we see a lifeless body lying on the curb, and a thug making a call to his boss.

Overall, Hot Spot certainly makes for couples and anyone looking for an interesting feature film. Guillermo Brown's direction was pretty good, although the story could have unfolded with more clarity. Raylene fans beware though. Indeed she looks magnificent, as usual, but she appears in only two scenes. Though top billed, she is really only a character of the sub-plot.

As with most Vivid DVD's, there are a good amount of extras included. Most however are not film-related, but there is plenty of additional, all-important, sex segments (pulled from various Vivid productions). The main menu offers a chapter breakdown that further breaks into sexual positions. There is the Vivid Bonus Room (filled with more footage), and the ever-annoying phone sex ads.
