August Worked Her Spell On Me!
It's nice to see Simon Wolf going back to doing what the studio does best - namely adult features for the couples' market. While their gonzo and all-sex titles are well-made, they are pretty tame when compared to most of the other material on the market, meaning it's not always the best choice for fans of those genres. But when it comes to features, few tell better stories than Simon Wolf and few direct better than Bud Lee. Add to that the fact that Simon Wolf features always have great looking women and usually a few cool special effects, and you have a recipe for success.
The only thing not to like about That Bitch Ate Our Witch is the rather lame name for the movie that the creators have come up with. The rest is pretty well-thought-out and fun to watch, especially if you like the magical themes that Simon Wolf is noted for in most of their feature releases.
The movie revolves around roommates played by Chris Cannon and Joey Ray - both of whom have slightly bitchy girlfriends who seem to hate each other. Chris' girlfriend is played by Kelly Kline, while Joey's girlfriend is played by Sammie Rhodes - and the first two sex scenes of the movie have these couples in action...first with Kelly and Chris, followed by a scene with Sammie and Joey.
Joey and Chris come to the decision that the only way to stop the girls from bickering with one another is if they bring in another roommate...but they agree it would have to be a man, since bringing in another woman would probably only lead to more cat-fighting. They put an add in the local paper, but the paper forgets to mention that they are only looking for a guy, and August shows up to try and rent a room. The guys try to turn her down, but she quickly points out that she is a lawyer and will sue them for sexual discrimination if they refuse to rent to her. So the guys give in and welcome August as their new roommate.
What the guys aren't privy to yet is the fact that August (as well as her best friend, played by Tiffany Taylor) is a witch, and is looking to get rid of both guys' girlfriends so she and her friend can have the guys all to themselves. Before they put their plan into action, the two women have a nice girl-girl scene together which includes the girls taking turns using a vibe on each other and doing a little 69ing before the end of the action.
Without giving too much of the story away, August's scheme doesn't go quite the way she planned, and she needs to call in "Uncle Clovis" (played humorously by Randy Spears) in for some help. Randy has a nice scene with Brandy Nicole that includes some anal action in the missionary and spoon positions; and after August's dilemma is straightened out, the movie ends with a passionate scene between August and Chris.
Buyers of the DVD should be quite happy with both the quality of the presentation (both the video and audio are above-average), as well as the bonus features that have been added to the disc. Extras include an 11 ½ minute behind the scenes featurette; interview segments with all the female cast members; a bonus scene taken from Roommate From Hell; a photo gallery; and four trailers for other Simon Wolf features already out on DVD.
I always get excited when I see that Simon Wolf is releasing a new feature, and I hope this will be an area they concentrate their efforts in over the next year. Don't let the rather corny title fool you, That Bitch Ate Our Witch is high quality stuff, and a good selection for those couples and singles out there who love a good adult story with their porn viewing.
