Dream Catcher

You can always count on director Michael Ninn in creating something different and exciting. Dream Catcher is another fine example of a great adult film. Unlike so many other adult film makers, Mr. Ninn uses his imagination. This time we get to look into Helen Duval's horny fantasies and there are some hot fantasies. The first scene alone is enough to make you explode. We see the lovely Helen with three very bad boy at a bus stop. She's got dick coming at her from every direction, but she takes it like she hasn't seen dick for a year. When you thing your going to cum all over the remote control we are taken to the the next fantasy. There we find Jill Kelly and Eric Price getting it on in a wet rainy ally. The chemistry between these to is so hot. Jill Kelly even gets a little nasty, first by opening Mr. Price's mouth and then spitting right into it then takes his big fat cock up her other hole. We liked this scene so much I had to watch it twice. For another scene we see Helen getting it good from big dick David Steel. Another hot scene is the girl on girl scene which gets really hot. If that was not enough we get two other scenes with great heat and then to finish the whole thing off we get to watch Helen take care of herself with a toy.

The video to DVD transfer is great and the Michael Ninn is just a genius with the camera.
Audio
The sound is great with very interesting sound effects.
Supplements
Not loaded with supplements, but that didn't bother me so much. The quality of the movie more than makes up for the low quantity of supplements.
Conclusion
This is one DVD that should be apart of your collection. The action is hot and Michael Ninn is a god behind the camera.

Any which way you want to see it, I guess this is Ninn's least interesting video.
He probably wanted to imitate Andrew Blake's style with this one, but it doesn't really work here.
There is practically no plot (the interesting premise of the 'dream catchers' is never developed) except for some voice-over from Duval (with heavy accent!), and we are led from one coupling to another. At least these are mostly done very well:
The first scene pairs Duval and three street guys
and leads to a long DP and lots of cum at the end.
We then cut to Duval masturbating on her bed, and here's another problem of the video.. Ninn repeats this ad absurdum, even at the end wwe get a few minutes of Duval playing with herself.
You could easily cut 15 minutes out of the movie and it would do it some good..
The third scene is the award-winning alley fuck between Jill Kelly and (guess..) Eric Price.
The AVN quote on the cover, saying this was the 'best sex scene in any Ninn feature' is in fact not exaggerated: It is extremely erotic..
There are other good scenes though, such as the threeway with Roxanne Hall (again a DP) or the pairing of Duval with her 'lover in the clouds'

Visually the feature is rather stunning as always, but as I have already said, there are too many repetitions: We get the same footage of the 'dream catchers' interviewing Duval for at least 3 times during the movie, then we have Duval's bed which is shown every 10 minutes etc.
The music is less rousing than usual for Lauren Alexander.
All in all, this is a rather empty video, which obviously serves as a showcase for Duval's 'talents' :)
If you like her or Ninn's/Blake's style you could do worse, but for me, it still ultimately disappoints.

Dream Catcher (a perfect rated Editor's Choice, April '98) combines director Michael Ninn's signature high-end visuals with some genuinely superb sex, including an opening three-on-one featuring Helen Duval, and a Jill Kelly/Eric Price anal in a rain-soaked alley. Outstanding video boasts balanced color and razor sharp detail; and the Dolby Surround tracks are spacious-sounding and clean.
