Eye Candy Refocused: Director's Cut

Jim Holliday's Eye Candy Refocused is an exceptional piece of porn. Let me start out by saying that I was amazed by the amount of stuff on this DVD. You truly get your money's worth. A lot of the discs I've seen lately have been pretty thin in the area of extra offerings and pretty skimpy as far as the length of the main feature.

In Holliday's "sequel" to the bestselling Eye Candy, we get over two hours of beautiful girls hamming it up and fucking and sucking guided along by a wisp of a plot. This is pretty well thought out material for the porn world, with jokes that are almost funny, and puzzling little in-between-scene sketches. The more memorable of these include the girls lying around talking in morse code with their assholes and a strip spelling bee where you lose your top if you get a correct answer (huh?). While I couldn't figure out what most of these were really for, and I suspect that most viewers will be whizzing through theses moments on forward scan, they are cute and entertaining and I recommend peeping at them if you can put off your urge to get off for a few seconds.

Hershel Savage is a stand out (as usual) as Inspector Joe/Bob, turning in his usual above-average-for-porn comic performance. His scene with Sindee Coxx is pretty funny, and Sindee gives some super-enthusiastic head. The classroom set looks eerily like an old episode of "You Can't Do That on Television", but when they hop up on the desk and get down to business, you won't care.

There are some moments where there is almost too much plot, actually, like the sequence involving three lovely cat burglars prowling around, or the big meeting with "the prophet" that turns out to be one big, bad, confusing joke. No matter, though, because there are plenty of chapter stops on this bad boy. You'll have no problem accessing your favorite scenes, or skipping through the fluff.

No fewer than twenty five girls appear in this one, although not all of them in sex scenes. Shelbee Myne has the opening fuck, which ends with her slurping some stud's cum off her toes, and this is before the opening credits have even rolled. Next, Randy Rage and Katie Gold get down to some ass licking (go Randy!) and muff-munching next in a beautiful, sunny outdoor scene. There is some toe-licking in this one, and that seems to pop up a bit throughout the disc, but it shouldn't be a distraction if you are not a big foot fan.

Another scene worth mentioning is Sydnee Steele and newcomer Tina Thomas's desert romp. Outside, beautifully shot, and girls that are naked and fucking in seconds flat. There is some really nice multi-angle in this one, and you'll put it to good use once Hershel comes in and fucks the living daylights out of both of the girls tight, tanned bodies. This is one of the five of the twelve scenes that includes straight action.

Lots of girl-girl in this one. Jill Kelly is featured prominently, so heads up if you're a fan. We see her dyking out in a threesome (featuring Felecia and an unidentifiable blonde) with lots of toys first. Later she has a stripping scene and another all female threeway, this time with Shayla Laveaux and Sydnee Steele. Jill does eventually get some cock when she dishes out the dirty-talk to Mark Davis (see if the music in this scene doesn't sound like a weird muzak version of "Against the Wind"... it's pretty funny). Her girl-on-girl action is the hottest stuff we see from her here, though. Like I said, there are lots of girls in this one.

Solveig has a nice straight scene at the end where she gives insane head, lots of spit and suction. A four girl outdoor scene with Felecia, Tina Thomas, Taylor Moore, and Coral Sands is not to be missed. There are so many good scenes on this disc that it should keep you busy for quite a while.

As far as extras: There is multi-angle in some scenes. There is an index of the twelve sex scenes, bios for five of the stars, a cast list, a slide show, an ad for the website, three previews, an inteview with Jim Holliday, and full versions of the two dance scenes that appear in the feature (one with Jill Kelly and one with Sydnee Steele and Shayla Laveaux featuring atrocious spangly, shiny country-western themed costumes). In other words, way above average in this department. The video was some of the best I've seen recently, outstandingly crisp, clear, and vivid. This one is pretty much a winner all around.

Eye Candy Refocused is the story of a group of college co-eds who rob houses to support an on-campus food place. For what reason I'm still not sure. But who cares when they are a bunch of vixens who run around and screw their brains out?

This film begins with some guy riding Shelby Myne like a mechanical bull, and flipping her around the bed. Finally he comes on her foot, at which point she licks it off and the credits begin. We are then transferred to the park where the aforementioned Shelby and her partner Shalya LaVeaux get it on in a local park. This scene included a good amount of toe-sucking (which prevailed throughout the film) and then some quality box-munching. Ah, if only all parks were required to have two good-looking girls going down on each other at all times. Then into the classroom, where the girls are to learn about all kinds of film and stuff- oh, so hard for them to remember! Enter Inspector Bob who questions them about a recent string of burglaries by "cocksuckers who know their shit." After class, Inspector Bob tries to obtain information from one of the girls by bending her over a desk and railing her until she screams. But as every loyal criminal knows, you never give up information. Personally, if I were on a cop's salary, I'd be happy with getting a good lay, and not worry about the case.

Onto the morning exercises, where the girls all lay on the grass and, in synch, flex their assholes while trying to improve their spelling skills. But what is spelling in the face of burglary? Jill Kelly, Syndee Steele, and Felicia go rob another house and then apparently so excited by the thrill of getting caught, get busy in someone's bedroom. Again with the toe-sucking, but there was a good deal of fair play- everyone got their turn at having their pussy licked and a turn on the dildo. Equality is, as we were all taught, the cornerstone to any good relationship. Following this scene were two more picnic romps. The first included Shelby and Syndee playing house for awhile until Inspector Bob rolls up and asks for information, at which point they satisfy his interests in other ways. I once again refer to my argument about sex for a cop's salary. As if she hadn't had enough, Shelby then gets a good screw in the wilderness by some random biker who not only likes to fill her with his cock, but will also toss her salad with a vengeance.

If I learned nothing else from Adam Sandler in Billy Madison, it is that nudity is the best way to learn anything. And apparently, the girls in this film agree, as they proceed with a strip spelling bee on the lawn of their college. Oh, why can't my college by like that? This is followed up by a poolside romp with Syndee, Shayla, Felicia, Jill, and Shelby, where they exchange licks and fingers for a good while. Apparently, Felicia has been voted the slave as they all line up in a row and Felicia proceeds to give them all the pussy licking of a lifetime.

At this point the girls are all upset because they are having a hard time in their Folklore in Americana course, so they go to see the Prophet (Jim Holliday) who gives them more riddles than answers. But as they are a persevering bunch, they continue on in the face of adversity. We are then treated to a glimpse of what Jill does in her off-time; strip. After the show, she meets the Prophet again, who, once again, offers no real answers, but riddles and warnings. This followed by Shayla on the receiving end of a stiff cock in a no-holes-barred match. She keeps the bra on, I assume to imply the urgency with which she needs to get laid. Once again, the cumshot is on the foot, which I still don't understand. It just makes more sense to dump it into her mouth, or at least on her chest, but then again, I've never been in an adult film, so what do I know?

Jill Kelly, who appears to be the leader of this rogue group of cat burglars, gets hers in her bedroom which sports a leather couch. She bobs and weaves with the skill of a pro football running back as she sucks the life out of this guy who then collapses on the couch as she slips out to pull another burglary. This time, the group is caught by the Prophet who offers to pay for the restaurant they are trying to save if they promise to get back to their studies. After this, the group is ready for the final test where they have to answer questions to get into a strip club. Well, as you can imagine, they pass. Upon entry, they get up on stage, strip, and then proceed to get on each other with a fury. Shelby and friends start the melee, but are soon bumped off stage by Jill Kelly, Shayla LaVeaux, and Syndee Steele, who put on the show of a lifetime. They writhe, they lick, they cum. All is well again. The final scene starts with a random girl getting the high hard one in her bed while the rest of the crew plays topless basketball outside.

Overall, this movie is a keeper. Jim Holliday once again turns out a film worth watching again and again. However, my complaint with his films still stands- too much emphasis on trying to develop a plot when there should be more sex. But, as DVD players have fast forward buttons for the plot development scenes, this remains a good film. In terms of features, this disc has the standard photo gallery and chapter search with the additional interview with Jim Holliday and extended scenes which were cut because of length. In addition, it has a pictures of the cast along with their bios and what other films they have been in for those of you who (like me) are hardcore fans of Shayla LaVeaux.

This production title was one of the early signs that porn was out of the dark corners of "dirty movies" and was attempting to blend in humor and a relaxed sense of fun. It seems they were trying to tailor make it for destinations like The Playboy Channel. Lots of seasoned pros that still seem to have a genuine fondness for the sex entertainment game. I particularly like the married dynamic duo, Shelbye and Pat Myne, and any and all things Felecia, at her peak here in 1999, slurping up assholes, notably the gorgeous Jill Kelly's! She returns the favor. It can be argued that Felecia helped make analingus a staple of the girl-girl genre. Nice closeups of the action for wanking inspiration, a Beach Boys type music theme, and a general sense of fun.
For me there's a certain amount of reality show charm in not knowing what will happen next, and no matter how hammy, enjoying the cornball dialogue. This is the beginning of adult video's booming golden age.

The sex scenes are extremely hot. Especially if you like oral-anal. The story is humorous but the sex scenes have a tendency to overwhelm any attempt for a plot the movie so I lost track of the whole purpose of it. But all the same, I liked it.
The audio and video were great as well as the features. Definetly worth seeing, at the least, if you don't feel like you should add it to your collection.

AVN Hall of Fame director Jim Holiday is truly a master of his craft. Eye Candy Refocused is a highly-polished sex fest featuring 25 of the hottest girls in the industry doing what they do best for over three hours in this special Director's Cut that earns a quick pre-nom for Best DVD.

The vid's stars- Jill Kelly, Felecia, Shayla LaVeaux, Sydnee Steele, Shelbee Myne, and Katie Gold- all sizzle whenever they enjoy screen time. The girl/girl action is second to none, especially with a Kelly/Felecia/LaVeaux threeway and a Kelly/Steele pairing on the dance stage. Jill Kelly's solo dance scene is likewise mouth-watering, with extended footage included as part of this disc's mondo "extras" package.

Also crammed into the already overflowing DVD-9 is a high-quality photo gallery, extended scenes of Jill Kelly, Shayla LaVeaux and Sydnee Steele dancing, and interview with Jim Holliday, preview trailers for other VCA Interactive titles, and multiple angles for some of the scenes.

This film is a exciting one. But there are a lot of all girl scenes and straight scenes are not vey much.
