An Adult Take On A Classic Tale...

By Spooky
With all the big releases that are coming out this month, Private's Robinson Crusoe On Sin Island kind of snuck up on me. Even as I stuck it in my DVD player, I wasn't expecting too much - as I've often been frustrated by the bad dubbing and hard-to-follow storylines when it comes to Private movies. But this one turned out to be a real treat. Even though the cast is European, the dialogue is in English this time around, and director Alessandro Del Mar has put a nice adult spin on the classic tale.

George Uhl stars as Robinson Crusoe, and as the movie opens, the diary telling of his adventure has been handed over to a writer that might be interested in novelizing his story. Robinson's tale begins in 1705 London, where he gets into a sword fight with another man. Robinson is about to lose the battle and be run through with the sword when he pulls a out and shoots the man attacking him.

Fleeing from the authorities, Crusoe leaves London by ship, but there's an accident and the ship sinks leaving Crusoe stranded and alone on a deserted island. He makes due with what he can find, but continues to be haunted by the death of the man he killed back in London. Crusoe also dreams about prior sexual experiences, like a foursome he and his buddy back in London (played by Philip Dean) were involved in with Nikki Blond and brunette Cynthia. He also remembers an encounter where he got a blowjob from Lucy Love while Silvia Saint and Evelyn had a lesbian tryst on a nearby bed.

Six years pass, and Crusoe now had a full beard and long hair. One day, some pirates arrive on the island (Kevin Long and Lauro Griotto) along with some women (Yvonne Peach and Nikki Rider) and a woman they have (dark-skinned Yokasta). After tying Yokasta to a tree so she won't get away, Kevin and Lauro have a foursome with Yvonne and Nikki on the beach.

Yokasta frees herself and runs off into the jungle of the island, coming across Crusoe. It isn't long before George Uhl and Yokasta are engaged in some hot and heavy action that includes standing doggy, reverse cowgirl, spoon and a facial at the conclusion.

But the pirates are not the only ones visiting the island, Horst Baron and Francesco Malcom show up. There is a dispute between Horst's men and Lauro's men that leads to Malcom's character and Jennifer S. being taken hostage by Kevin and Nikki Rider's character. About halfway across the island, they agree to have a little partner-swap fun, and Malcom gets it on with Nikki while Kevin has his way with Jennifer S.

Horst isn't missing out on any action either, as he teams up with Angel Dark for a scene that includes anal in the reverse cowgirl and standing doggy positions. Rescuing Jennifer S. and taking Yokasta with him, Crusoe steals the boat Horst arrived in and heads back out to sea. He's eventually picked up by another vessel and rewarded handsomely when he returns Yokasta back to her family. The movie ends with George Uhl back with his old pal Philip Dean and in yet another foursome - this time with Jennifer S. and Thalia.

Robinson Crusoe On Sin Island comes in a 2-DVD set (there's also a "Collector's Edition," but the only difference is the packaging and an extra color booklet in the more expensive edition) and is presented in 16x9 anamorphic widescreen with a very sharp transfer (much better than Private Chateau, which was the last Private movie I watched that was anamorphic).

The second disc of the set is loaded with bonus material, including a 24-minute Making Of featurette; a 56-minute Behind The Scenes Shooting Diary; 23-minutes worth of cast interviews; a 5-minute interview with the director; a 6-minute segment on the editing process; a 25-minute featurette on costume design; and a 23-minute segment which features comments from director Alessandro Del Mar.

Also on Disc Two is an 18-minute bonus scene that actually begins as a behind the scenes segment with Francesco Malcom on the set during the Nikki Blond/Cynthia scene, but turns into a scene of its own when Malcom starts making out with a brunette on the set. Rounding out Disc Two is the 2-minute trailer for the movie; a pair of photo galleries; bios for some of the female stars; and production notes.

As with most of Private's big-budget features, the sex here is well-shot, includes a good deal of anal and is the main reason you'll want to pick up this release. Robinson Crusoe ranks quite favorably with some of the best movies we've seen from Private over the years...it's worth adding to your collection.
