Erotic Interludes 2

Movie sequels rarely surpass the originals, in terms of quality, value and sheer entertainment. I think that's a fairly agreeable observation with consideration for both mainstream and X-rated flicks. Even so, there are indeed those memorable exceptions - such is the case with Erotic Interludes 2. Now we all know that the adult industry overflows with "series" and "volumes", but I'm not referring to those. Many times, a "new" inclusion to an ongoing series actually raises the bar for the whole series. No, today I speak of an actual "part two" of a story-driven film, which may or may not ever have another volume.

Also a rare occurrence is when I reflect on a prior review and say, "I was being too generous." That however is how I feel about Erotic Interludes 1. After viewing the sequel, I was pleased that my negative notations of part 1 were non-existent in part 2, yet I was slightly displeased with my generosity in overall rating of part 1. That stems mostly from Erotic Interludes 2's overwhelming compensation of key elements. This sequel goes above and beyond the predecessor with examples of greater actor chemistry, exceeding directorial contribution, and above all, amazingly convincing passion that surpasses the original ten-times over.

Like the original, director Father John presents a story about "jumpstarting" a lackluster sex life, through erotic enhancement. Part one used the "internet" as a tool for sexy storytelling; part two ventures down more literary route with erotic book excerpts. Essentially, Erotic Interludes is comprised of unrelated sex tales, brought to life, as read by Taylor St. Clair. Unlike the original though, this cast pulls off a higher degree of hardcore sensuality - with convincing sincerity.

Taylor St. Clair reads sultry stories aloud to hubby Tony Martino. Though they lay together in bed, Tony seems only vaguely piqued with Taylor's reading - he is submersed in an investment publication. But of course... this scenario will eventually take a drastic turn for the better.

Kicking things off is a "nothing less than" volcanically hot tryst involving Miko Lee, Gino Greco, tea-light candles and a steamy shower. Surely the cream of the five total sex scenes, chapter one embodies the elements necessary to stimulate both the "couples" crowd and "soloists" alike - another rarity it seems. Slow, passionate and virtually dialogue-free, this romance flows without a glitch. Deep kissing, wet and writhing bodies, and methodical caressing may sound too much like a cable "after dark" scenario, but I assure you this occurs at no cost to the "hardcore" factor. Gino's cunnilingus session will make the girls giddy, and, Miko's return blowjob will raise the boys' bar so to speak. Once the fucking begins, this elegant bathroom setting serves a great accentuation to a genuinely captured sexual fervor. Incidentally, superb camera work and seamless editing lifts this scene over the top, as intermittent close-ups reveal the essence of eroticism on the actors' faces and lower extremities alike.

Taylor's next recitation involves two lady friends, temporarily abandoned by their respective men, for a televised ball game. Shay Sweet and Tanya Danielle experiment with lesbian curiosity within the confines of an outdoor Jacuzzi. Though not the greatest girl-girl coupling ever filmed, the setting is inspiring and the girls unquestionably get a "groove on" in their sun-soaked scenario

The commencing of Chapter Three is two-fold. Now, Tony Martino is becoming more interested in Taylor - the method is working. He moves closer to Taylor and the scene cuts to Gino Greco with Eve Palindrome for a countryside anal encounter. Again a scene with little dialogue, this chapter needs only the visuals to express the intensity. The usual motions of reciprocal oral favors takes place, then a brief moment of fucking develops. This, however, is shot with a great foreshadowing of the oncoming event. During the missionary bop, our eyes are carefully led to Eve's tight rosebud, periodically, by flawless camera work. With that, a lengthy, varied and passionately raunchy anal bang proceeds, ending with a respectable open-mouth cumshot.

Now fully hot and bothered, Tony is all over Taylor. But wait... there's still more reading! Next up, gorgeous Nikita Denise plays housekeeper to Samantha. Filmed on a slightly winding staircase, another lesbian coupling pleases our eyes. This time, though, "originality" is written all over the scene. I'll give one major example; Strap-on wielding Sam heartily bangs the hell out of Nikita, in a pile-driver position, upside down - on the staircase.

Without delving too deeply into it, the final chapter showcases Taylor and Tony's loving talents with a 69, decent coitus and flowing man-juice. This was definitely a pleasant finale for an exceptionally impressive feature.

Addressing issues of technical notation, Erotic Interludes 2 offers little interactivity. The "extra" material presents choices of chapter breakdowns, a photo gallery and some bonus footage (outtakes). Production-wise, some nice touches include; names attached to faces during opening credits, gorgeous photography, casting perfection and outstanding editing. As I see it, the audience-range is broad. The sex is fervent and blazing with foreplay - couples should dig this. On the other end of the spectrum, the cast is hot and the sex isn't shy or timid. There are plenty of facials, some down the hatch, and abundant close-ups, so strokers may too have a field day with Erotic Interludes.

A final note...

If you liked Erotic Interludes 1, I'm convinced you will "love" number 2. If you've not seen number 1 (or just didn't like it), it's okay to just pick this one up. There are no recurring characters or storylines revisited - this isn't that "kind" of sequel. And, again, the main point to remember - this one absolutely blows away the original. I highly recommend Erotic Interludes 2 for a heavy dose of skillfully filmed and convincing sex that can be enjoyed by just about anyone.
