Confessions of an Adulteress

With Julia Ann taking part in five of the six sex scenes in the movie, her fans should be happy with the erotic content of Brad Armstrong's Confessions of an Adulteress. However, those who enjoy watching Wicked features because of their interesting storylines (which often adds to the eroticism) are probably not going to find much in this movie. The sex is well-filmed, but the plot is a familiar one that reminded this reviewer of a lot of the adult movies from the 80's - you know, the kind where the director went out of his way to depress the home viewer...and boy, does Brad end this one on a down note.

The story is pretty simple, so we'll get that out of the way first. Julia Ann is married, rich and seemingly happy - but as the opening credits wrap up (where we get to watch Julia in the shower soaping herself up and thinking about all the sex she's had), we see Julia leaving a "Dear John" letter for her husband, placing it on top of a journal and leaving the house.

When the husband comes home (played by a graying non-sex actor whom I couldn't identify), he makes his way up into the bedroom and starts reading the letter, followed by Julia's journal - where she goes into detail about her sexual adventures. The rest of the movie is spent in flashback, as we see how Julia developed into the sexual nymph that she turned out to be.

Julia's idea to cheat on her husband comes when she sees Lezley Zen and Brad Armstrong making out in a bedroom during a party. Julia watches as Brad gives it to Lezley cowgirl, missionary and doggy, followed by him jerking onto her ass.

Julia's first bit of indiscretion comes when she invites Eric Masterson over to the house and lets him seduce her on the living room's leather couch. There's not much variety in this sequence, as Julia begins with a blowjob, Eric fucks her missionary for a few minutes and then pops onto her tits.

Taking her lust to the next level, Julia asks Eric if they can have a threesome with Eric's buddy, Cheyne Collins. The action includes doggy from Eric, spoon from Cheyne and a popshot from Cheyne onto Julia's behind (we never see Eric cum in this sequence).

In another threesome (that takes place on a rooftop), Julia gets busy with co-workers Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo, whom she sees making out and then decides to strip down and join them. This is one of the better sex scenes in the movie, and ends with a nice cumshot, as Nicole jerks Voodoo off onto Julia's face.

No adult movie is complete without a lesbian scene, so we get to see newcomer Lonnie (a good-looking blonde) making out with Julia in a bathtub. There's a good deal of kissing and tit-play/sucking at the beginning, and then the girls move on to oral, with Julia licking out Lonnie on the edge of the tub, and then Julia getting up on the bathroom sink so that Lonnie can return the favor. Lonnie also uses a vibe on Julia, and the action concludes with Julia aggressively fingering Lonnie.

The last sex scene is the best, with Julia getting it on with a plant worker played by Randy Spears. The scene is appealing because it takes place in the grungy basement bathroom of the site where Randy works, and is easily the most aggressive sex in the title - giving it a very "dirty" feel, overall. Julia also gets a facial at the conclusion of the scene...easily the nicest pop-shot in the movie, thanks to the always-reliable Mr. Spears.

The bonus material on this disc is outstanding, as is almost always the case with a Wicked feature release. Viewers will be able to enjoy a 14-minute behind the scenes featurette on the making of the movie; a bonus scene with Julia and Randy Spears from The Assignment; bloopers; the trailer for this title; a look at the box cover shoot; slide shows; and five trailers for other available Wicked DVDs.

This is a feature to buy only if you're interested in the sexual couplings. The story doesn't really work, and it actually detracts from the sex a little - since it's hard to be depressed and turned-on at the same time! While Julia Ann fans will probably want to add this to their collection due to the number of sex scenes she has in the movie, for the casual viewer, I recommend a rental first.

Wicked Pictures turns out another solid title. Just as much attention is paid to the plot and character development as is paid to the sex. Julia Ann turns in a great performance. Lezley Zen is the only other stand-out. The rest of the cast was just so-so. This feature is carried by plot and some decent acting. I am glad to see adult movies evolve into actual cinema. Keep it up, Wicked!
