Sopornos 4, The

Wit Maverick takes over the director's chair for the fourth installment of The Sopornos, and the result is the best of the four films, as gangster Bobby Soporno (Rob Spallone) tries to deal with the fact that his daughter (Tawny Roberts) is around.

The name of the series is, of course, supposed to be a take on the popular HBO show, The Sopranos, but other than Bobby telling his problems to a shrink (Windy Nites), there's little similarity with the actual TV show. However, that doesn't mean you won't enjoy watching this film.

The movie opens with Tawny getting orally pleasured from Tony Tedeschi, who is also one of Bobby's henchmen. Tawny's roommate, Sabrine Maui, arrives and the three of them go at each other, with Tony giving it to Sabrine in the doggy position while she licks Tawny out, then giving Tawny some fun in the missionary position. The scene ends with Tony spooning with Sabrine and squirting his load on her body.

After the sex, Tawny gets a phone call from Bobby, and he begins to get suspicious that his little daughter may be fooling around with Tony. So he calls up his cousin Vic (Herschel Savage) and makes sure that Tony will come to the junkyard that the Sopornos run to meet with him. Meanwhile at the junkyard, Kyle Stone - who is doing his best "Rain Man" impersonation - trades sexual favors for car parts when Kat Kleavage shows up looking to get someone to fix her bumper.

When Tawny arrives at the junkyard, she is escorted into an office by Rick Roberts (Tawny's real-life boyfriend) and the two make-out while Bobby is settling his score with Tony. The Tawny and Rick scene is notable since it's one of the hottest ones in the entire picture, contains some nice anal penetration, a great facial, and all takes place condom-free...for those viewers out there who enjoy seeing such scenes.

Meanwhile, the confrontation between Bobby and Tony has erupted in gunplay, as Bobby shoots Tony down, but before Tony collapses to his death, he manages to get off a shot which grazes the side of Bobby's face. Being rushed to the hospital, Bobby finds himself fantasizing about the two nurses in the back of the ambulance - played by Dru Berrymore and newcomer Honey.

Bobby's paranoia continues in his hospital room as he first fantasizes about Tawny making it with a doctor played by Steve Hatcher; and then imagines his wife (Shayla LaVeaux) in a threesome with Herschel Savage and Tony Tedeschi.

While the sex in The Sopornos 4 is above average, what makes this movie a worthwhile purchase is that the acting is also above par. Most noteworthy of being singled out is Herschel Savage, who gives one of his best performances to date in an adult movie. Just take a look at the scene near the end of the film with him, Shayla and Bobby in the hospital room, and you'll see what I mean - if Herschel isn't up for an award next year as a supporting actor for this film, there's no justice in Pornoland.

Also worth mentioning is the great sexual performance by Tawny Roberts, in what has to be her best movie to date. She has three sex scenes here, and all of them are sizzling. Fans of her will want to make sure to add this disc to their collection.

Furthermore, VCA has done a nice job with the bonus features. The feature-length commentary track is one of the best I've heard, and features Rob Spallone, Shayla LaVeaux and Wit Maverick. Additional features include a behind the scenes featurette; outtakes; a slide show; cast bios; trailers for the first three Sopornos movies and other VCA titles, plus even a hidden Easter Egg (which you can find on the main menu page) that shows the trailer for The Sopornos 4.

All in all, a top-notch effort from Wit Maverick and VCA, proving that The Sopornos series of films may still have some life in it yet.
