Stand In, The

I was a tad worried before watching "The Stand In," a new Chloe vehicle from VCA. The description of the plot - a yarn about a glitzy soap opera actress named Chloe (guess who plays her) getting tangled in a criss-crossing web of affairs off-screen - smacked of lame "couples-friendly" fodder. Not that I'm against couples-friend work per se, but we're talking about Chloe here: this babe has taken fists up that tiny quim of hers, so what can she possibly be doing in a "nice" movie?

Surprisingly, all of my fears were unfounded. It's not that "The Stand In" is a masterpiece, but it is solid porn that delivers the intended goods: that is, lots of hot chicks getting boffed in all holes. The energy level was consistently high, and the girls consistently sex-hungry. Kudos to director F.J. (Fred) Lincoln, who's done tepid work in the past, but really focused a tightly wound smut-fest that even-handedly blends its sexing with its comedy and plot.

Chloe kicks things off with a bang, already in flagrante delicto in her dressing room with Steve Hatcher, a crew member on her soap. After one of her typically delectable, often hands-free B.J.s, she takes him missionary, cowgirl and doggy style, with her eyes rolling back in her head with ecstatic bliss. (I love watching girls like that - Anna Malle's another classic example.) You get some good gags involving film set mishaps here (I usually hate this kind of nonsense, but honestly found it funny in this movie).

We then learn the "truth" about the soap: like a lot of things in "The Stand In" there's chicanery going on, and Chloe's starring in a soap that gets sexed-up for European markets - and she has no knowledge of that. The filmmakers shoot an insert scene in the jail cell involving limber Maria Silva, the fuck-double for Chloe who'll be seen getting nailed on TV in Europe. Maria's an ultra-horny vixen, and the way she voraciously sucks jail guard Marty Romano will have you stiff in no time. They doggy and missionary with Marty pounding away in Maria's tender quim, and you can see that she can take it like a pro. It's a truly lusty tryst. Meanwhile, Chloe and buddy Shelby Stevens - who's married to the show's producer - duck into a massage parlor. They wanna hire a hooker to keep Shelby's hubby "occupied" while the two are vacationing in Europe. He can't figure out why Chloe pulled that "stand in" stunt with him and his wife, and I won't spoil the answer for you. It's a fine scene to top off a fine feature film.

This isn't a couples film classic on the level of, say, "Curse of the Catwoman," but it is very good, with solid all-around sexing and a fun plot. VCA also did a commendable job with the extras. Sometimes, their lesser prestige feature films (ones not from key stars or directors) are kind of lacking in that department, but this time there are trailers for "Torn," "Edge Play" and "Being Juli Ashton," bios with links to select a "hot scene" for particular slutlets, and a photo gallery, internet info, and contact info.
