Dementia 3

Director Jim Powers often has some good ideas for his porn movies, but he rarely seems to get the budget to make his vision truly stunning. Such is the case with Dementia 3, an adult movie that could have been really good if it didn't look like it was shot with a hand-held home video camera most of the time.

The movie is a take on Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut and stars Hillary Scott and Alec Metro as a young couple who each individually start exploring their sexual fantasies. As the movie opens, Alec and Hillary are attending a business party, and when Alec goes off to talk with an acquaintance, Hillary starts to get hit on by Herschel Savage. Nothing happens between the two, but it's the first spark in Hillary's upcoming sexual exploration.

The first sex scene takes place upstairs from the party, where its host, played by Alex Sanders, is sucking down oxygen (visions of Blue Velvet's Frank Booth come to mind) while watching a tied-up Sandra Romain squirm on the floor. Alex eventually unties her so the two can engage in action that includes anal in the reverse cowgirl, missionary, doggy and reverse pile driver positions.

The day after the party, Hillary notices an envelope that has been left on the windshield of her vehicle. Taking it inside, she finds a videotape with some masked people having sex and the masked male saying that she will soon be the person that these kinky sexual activities will be happening to. Later, Hillary gets a letter that tells her to go to the bathroom stall of a local deli. Hillary goes, and finds herself in a stall with a glory hole and a guy masturbating next to her. Turned on, she can't help but play with herself and it isn't long before the unseen man has stuck his cock through the hole and Hillary is sucking on it. But the fun doesn't end there. Soon, Hillary is surrounded by two more cocks - one through the other side of the stall and one through the door. She sucks all three of the men (one who is obviously Herschel Savage, but the others I couldn't identify) off and swallows their loads one at a time. Gloryhole scenes are always hot to watch, yet so few of them seem to appear in porn titles. This, by the way, is one of the best you'll see!

The rest of the sex scenes in Dementia 3 take place at the mysterious club where people wear masks and engage in kinky sex. Getting a password from Kyle Stone, Alec has made his way to the club and watches a threesome between Rita Faltoyano, Barbara Summer and Nick Manning. But he's caught by those who run the club, and about to be into some sort of "punishment," when Sierra Sin offers to take the punishment in place of Alec. She winds up sucking and fucking at least four (possibly five) different guys and even getting double penetrated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will see this scene and think "Thank god she took Alec's place!"

As it turns out, Hillary's gloryhole encounter is tied-in with the people who run the club, and then send her pictures of her sucking cock in the gloryhole to blackmail her into going to the club. Little does Hillary know that Alec goes back to the club on the same night, although the two never run into each other. First, Alec teams up with Taryn Thomas in a scene that features anal in the reverse cowgirl, doggy and missionary positions. Then, in Dementia 3's final sex scene, viewers get to see a mini-orgy involving Hillary Scott, Allie Sin and a four guys. Hillary not only gets anally penetrated here, but she's also on the receiving end of a D.P., and the scene ends quite creatively...with each guy cumming in Allie's mouth, who then spits the cum into a glass of , which is then swallowed down by Hillary!

Dementia 3 is anamorphically enhanced at about the 1.78:1 ratio, but there's both a lack of color and sharpness to the picture that prevent me from giving it a perfect score in the video category. The audio is far worse, with a 2.0 track that never properly balances the dialogue with the musical soundtrack...meaning that in many scenes what the actors are saying is being drowned out by the music.

This is a 2-disc release from Mayhem, but there's really not much in the way of extras, and I'm surprised that they couldn't squeeze what was on Disc Two onto Disc One. The only bonuses on Disc Two are an 8 ½ minute behind the scenes featurette; interviews with the female members of the cast; three photo galleries; a cumshot recap option; plus some web info and phone sex ads. There are also 5 trailers and a chapter selection on the first disc.

Dementia 3 is still good enough to warrant your time, and Hillary's gloryhole scene alone will make you happy you picked this one up. But I couldn't help but think how great Dementia 3 might have been with a little more time and effort. Well, I guess there's always Part 4 to look forward to!
