Homegrown Video 579

Homegrown Video 579 is yet another attempt by the folks at Homegrown and Xplor Media to pass on their success in the video market to DVD, and once again the product suffers from a poor transfer and lack of bonus material.

I have no idea what the current number of the Homegrown series on videotape is up to...but #579's material seems like it was filmed in the late-80's or early 90's. Perhaps with the success of the internet, Homegrown hasn't had as many submissions as they did in the past (couples with a home video camera and website access are more likely to set up their own website and business now, rather than selling homemade tapes to a company), but it's doubtful that most of the material on this DVD selection is going to appeal to consumers, since they can find much better and higher quality amateur work elsewhere.

This DVD starts off with Amber and Aaron, a couples whose submission is clearly filmed by just them...meaning there's a lot of jumping around of the camera and not the best selection of angles for the action. The couple is middle aged, and the scene is fairly grainy. Amber appears to get an internal cumshot at the end of the segment, but instead of Aaron grabbing the camera and showing the cum dripping out of his wife/partner, he grabs a towel and wipes it off for her - not exactly what us home viewers wanted to see.

Next up is Rene and Mike, and the scene is a little clearer than the previous one, but Rene seems so passionless, it's difficult to get aroused during their sex session. She also seems to have no idea how to give a proper blowjob...and I kind of felt sorry for the guy who had to do the scene with her, since he didn't seem to be having any more fun than she was having.

The third scene features another middle aged woman (identified as "Golden Girl" - perhaps because she looks like she could be a cast member on that now-defunct television series) who doesn't have sex - but instead is caught naked in various public places, and does a bit of masturbation as well.

The final scene on this DVD is easily the best, and brings us Cherokee and Will, the couple featured on the DVD's box cover. Once again, this scene looks like it may have been filmed in the late 80's or early 90's, but at least Cherokee appears to know what she is doing when it comes to performing on camera. In addition to fucking Will, she also spends a good deal of time working out with a white vibrator...including some anal action with it. The scene ends in a pretty nice facial, so if there is one scene worth picking up this DVD for...it's definitely this one.

The bonus features on this disc are fairly scarce, and provide a chapter selection, a slide show and some website information and previews of other material available from Homegrown Video.

I suppose there is an audience out there for this type of material - I just wish we could have seen some more recent amateur action, rather than material that appears to have been filmed more than a few years back.
