One Sleepless Night

Jonathan Morgan always seems to do his best work when he is making comedies, and that's certainly the case with One Sleepless Night, an adult film that is going to remind many viewers of the fun they had watching Morgan's two Double Feature films.

One Sleepless Night stars Kylie Ireland as a restless housewife who gets up in the middle of the night to check out what's happening on late night TV. As she flips back and forth between the channels, she also fantasizes about what she is watching - so the viewer gets treated to a selection of sex scenes with themes that relate to some of those cheesy movies and programs that are on television in those early morning hours.

First up is a western, where Joel Lawrence and Pat Myne play a couple of cowboys who double team a very sexy looking Kylie. If you watch the interview with Kylie that is part of the bonus features on the DVD, you'll discover that Kylie actually was extremely sick during this scene, but claims that Joel and Pat screwed her illness right out of her!

Next up is one of those corny Kung-Fu movies, and we get to see Brad Armstrong fight a ninja warrior in a hilarious action sequence. Coming away victorious, Brad's character is given the hand of young Asian girl Kianna in marriage. This, of course, leads to some hot sex between the two, which ends with a nice facial for Kianna.

Lee Stone is a caveman and Calli Cox is his cavewoman in a prehistoric scene that starts off with the two of them running from an obviously fake pterodactyl. Escaping the winged creature, the two decide to celebrate with some down and dirty sex.

In the next segment, Kylie is running from a chainsaw wielding clown. She finds a cabin in the woods and meets Kyle Stone inside who calms her down by making passionate love to her. Of course, as we all know from growing up on slasher flicks, any woman who has sex is bound to get killed before the movie is over, so it's no surprise that someone's waiting for Kylie when she finally decides to leave.

The next to last scene features Jason McCain as a solider injured on the war front, who is taken care of (and I do mean taken care of!) by a Red Cross nurse played by newcomer Terra Part. I believe this is the first time I've seen Terra in a film before, and she does quite well, although there's nothing particularly remarkable about her that sets her apart from dozens of other actresses in the industry.

If there is one scene in the film that doesn't quite work, it's the final one with Kylie as a dildo salesperson making out in a hot tub with Jolean, Cherie and a whole bunch of dildos. I've always believed that ending a straight movie with a lesbian scene is never the best way to go, and the only memorable thing about this sequence is watching Kylie get double penetrated by two of the toys.

However, despite the last scene not being a great ending, One Sleepless Night is still a top-notch adult release, and one of the best titles I've seen this year. The video and audio are also well-done, and are up to the quality of previous Wicked releases.

The bonus features are highly entertaining, not only for what they offer on the surface, but for the vast number of Easter Eggs waiting to be found on the disc (I counted 11!). The bonuses you'll be able to view with ease include a 20-minute behind the scenes featurette, an interview with Kylie, an interview with Kianna, a montage featuring the girls of the film, audio biographies, 12 trailers, promos and a handful of slide shows to view.

As for all those Easter Eggs, I won't tell you where they are at, but here's a list of what you can look forward to: "54 Point Turn", "On Location Interview With Kylie", "Arts & Crafts With Kylie", "Special Memories With Jonathan Morgan", "Drinking Games With Jonathan Morgan", "The Rotten Egg", "35 Things To Do With A Cowboy Bandana", "Curse of the Dragon", "My First Dildo", "Prehistoric Lovin'" and finally, an Easter Egg where a guy simply looks at the camera and says "You found the hidden Easter Egg...good fuckin' deal!"

Most adult fans are going to have a tremendous amount of fun both watching the film and watching the features on One Sleepless Night. Heck, you might find yourself just like the character in the film...staying up late into the night to check out all this DVD has to offer!
